And then the crowd came. This place got busy quickly. This is a good sign for people like the food or the service or both. I got the order and took it home for my wife's judgement. The fish was cooked ok. Not too greasy. Nice aroma. No fishy taste. It was fresh. My wife said the same but found the fish overall average at best. Nothing banging for her to scream about. I agreed. Although, it was fresh that is just the minimum. The breading was also one note. The chicken was cooked good. Not greasy. Again we found the chicken just average. The breading was one note. They don't have plates so I asked for a box and they said it cost $.50. Then I asked for a cup so that we could drink our bottled Coke with ice to which I was told would cost a $1. I know times are tough, but to not offer paper plates and to charge for an extra box or cup is just ridiculous to me. It makes me not want to support them just on principle. The newest location of Bangin' Fish & Chicken was hopping when I walked in. Loads of people picking up orders and the poor woman behind the counter was bombarded with phone calls. I took the high demand as a sign that I was in for some good food. Maybe I should have set my expectations lower. The food was overall fine. Decently-seasoned chicken and fish with any sauces we wanted, plus some fries. Some of the chicken was a bit overdone, making it a bit dry, but not too inedible. The whiting fish was decently cooked and seasoned, and the french fries were solid. The mac and cheese was dreadfully mushy. The pasta was so overcooked and the sauce was somehow gritty. Would not eat again. The fried pickles were too thinly sliced, so once they were fried, they were dry so they just tasted like... crispy fried batter without the offset of pickle brine. The prices are okay and the folks inside were super friendly, but with the fried chicken competition in the area (Hip Hop, RoFo), I'm curious how long this place will stick around. read more

We usually pick 2 or 3 things and the portion sizes are good for a family of 4 or 5. Price is fair for quantity and quality. Fish is fresh. Seasoning is good, though it can be on the salty side if the cook is heavy handed. Chicken wings are hit or miss - sometimes crispy and juicy, sometimes overcooked and dry. Love that they have fried chicken skin (yes, just the skin) as an option. My arteries are clogging up just thinking about them. We placed and order over the phone and mentioned the deal to order. When I arrived at the restaurant, the friendly young lady behind the counter greeted me pleasantly as I informed her of my order number. My order was hot and ready at the specified time and I was in and out within minutes. I couldn't wait to get this food home to give it a try. First, the half and half was good. Sweet, but not overly sweet to the point you feel you need to cut it with water. The chicken was the perfect size, not to big and not to small and it was fried to perfection. The fries were crispy, the same for the fish. Personally, I could have done without the whiting. I've never been a fan of the fish, so I am bias in that regard.
