This is challenging because of the small size and limited sites. I try at least six months in advance for a water site. The water sites are hard to get. I will stay at any of them they are all wonderful. The lake is very refreshing and the beach is fun. There is a huge rock in the middle of the lake that my family takes pictures at. It is quit a wonderful view. I love coming here to camp. All the campers are always friendly and polite. I have talked with many and they all think this campground is a hidden gem.

A small lake, no large motorized boats are allowed, so it is quiet and peaceful. In fact, the greatest disturbances tend to be other campers who insist on playing their music loudly. Thankfully, there is usually a good amount of space between sites, and most people respect the quiet hours. While this campground is a long way away from where I live, it is definitely worth the drive. If you are interested in fall camping, I can't even being to describe how beautiful it is to wake up in the morning to see the lake surrounded by a riot of colors.

Located close to Indian Lake, the Lewey Lake Campground has multiple entrances off of Route 30N with the main campground the furthest south and what I have labeled on the Yelp map. Keep in mind that the address does not come up properly on Google Maps or Bing maps so look at the Yelp placement for more accuracy. We were at the furthest north campsites which are pretty isolated from everyone else. The sites our group stayed at were situated right next to a stream which was great for sleeping. You couldn't hear anyone around you and even with the goings on at our lower campsite we couldn't hear them at all. There only outhouses at this location of the campground but it is a short drive to the main sites that have real bathrooms and showers along with a nice, simple beach. Despite how close it is to Route 30N, I definitely felt isolated in a good way and would highly recommend staying there for people looking for some interesting camping with reasonably convenient location.

Beautifully manicured property, spacious sites for RVs and Cabins are meticulously placed allowing spaces for parking even with UTV/ATV on your own site. Ever since the first call to Raven Acres and while staying there, the staff was always super friendly and courteous. Cabin was extremely clean and well stocked with bath and kitchen essentials, A/C was spot on, unlimited hot water, bedding clean and very comfortable. UTV/ATV trails directly from the property, restaurants less than a mile away along with a convenience store. I would highly recommend Raven Acres to both RV and Cabin get aways. We DEFINITELY are going back very soon.

My partner and I camped at site 32 last year and it was amazing. It took a while for us to row out…read morethere in our inflatable row boat - probably two hours - but you can rent a canoe at the ranger station which would get you out there in maybe an hour or hour and a half. It's a beautiful little private island with a pit toilet and fire pit with picnic tables. This year we spent one night at site 26, which was a little too close to other rowdier sites, and one night at 39, which was beautiful and secluded. If you're thinking about camping here but don't have a boat, rent a canoe! It's a nice way to get out to the islands and work up a sweat so you're ready to swim by the time you get to your site. Some words of advice: make sure you text anyone you need to while you're in Speculator or Indian Lake because if you need to get a hold of someone while you're camping you have to row back to shore, which could take hours if your site is further up the lake, then drive into town to get service; bring a roll of toilet paper with you if you don't want to use the cheapo single ply the whole time you're there; and lastly, really look at the map to make sure you know what you're getting into in terms of the trek out to your site! 32 is far enough that it feels remote but not so far you can't canoe there. Much further north and you're looking at hours of paddling. All in all a great spot to get away.

Some are located on islands, some on the shore along the lake. They're all extremely private but very primitive, a fire ring, picnic table and outhouse . There's also quite a few picnic areas if you're just going for the day. The staff at the campgrounds office are all extremely friendly and helpful, ready to answer any questions you might have. The lake is beautiful, with opportunities to get out and hike up a mountain or to a waterfall. If you're going to camp you need to bring all of your supplies with you, including drinking water. There are shower facilities that you can access at Lewey Lake Campground, just across the road from the Indian Lake access.

We have stayed in every house on the property, each of them inviting in their own way. All of the cottages have been clean, well furnished and comfortable. There have been a few problems over the years, but the owners have always addressed our concerns in a timely, satisfactory manner without question or complaint. We have always had the choice to rent elsewhere, but we have returned year-after-year to the Fulton House because of its simple, down-to-earth charm and warmth. If you're looking for The Four Season, then you should look elsewhere. If your looking for a genuine Adirondack experience, then you will find the Fulton House a great place to relax and recharge.

It has a semi wilderness feel, which I like…read more Most of the campsites are only reachable by boat, some by boat or hiking, and there are a handful of sites that can be driven up to. The sites are relatively primitive with the only amenities being a picnic table, outhouse and either a fire ring or stone fireplace. There is also a bear box at most sites big enough for an average size cooler and a few bags of food. There are bear in the area so it's highly recommended (in fact it may be a rule) that all your food goes in the box when you are sleeping, or away from camp. About 1/4 of the sites have a small floating dock, while the rest you have to land your boat on shore. Some of the landings can be rocky and a little slick, so watch out. The sites are a little close together for my taste, but thankfully not every one was occupied when we were there, so we had space. If you need a boat to get to your site, canoes are available for rent ($20 per day). You can swim right from your campsite, there is pretty good fishing for bass and the scenery is spectacular. Though I much prefer the nearby wilderness lakes and rivers when I want to go paddle camping, this is a very decent alternative if you're with people who don't want to leave civilization too far behind. Most sites are no more than a 30 minute paddle from the landing and Long Lake is a few minute drive. So if you need ice, food, drinks or a Wi-Fi connection, it's only a short distance away. If you want to get away from it all without going too far from civilization, Forked Lake…read more(pronounced For Ked Lake) is the place to go. It's got 79 sites, some primitive ones that you have hike or paddle to and a few sites for trailers and RV's. There's no flush toilets or showers but there is potable water and out houses. The lake is gorgeous, quiet, and pristine. About a third of the land around the lake is state land, the rest is mostly owned by Whitney Industries and when they say no trespassing, they really mean it. The only negative to this is there are the most aggressive deer flies I've ever seen.

After many years of going to Point Breeze Motel and Cottages and staying at the cozy motel portion…read more I decided to rent one of the cabins. I picked The Lakeside cabin. Which sits above the lake and has a perfect view through the large picture window.It is a one bedroom cabin with a nice living room and kitchen, with a regular refrigerator microwave and stovetop. No oven, but that was OK because it was easy to cook on the small stove top eggs, bacon. The living room has a 15 inch flatscreen television. Along with the book case with a nice stock of books to read and a shelf with some board games. Also a coffee maker with a selection of coffee's and a toaster. Outside the cabin facing the lake is a fire pit where one can make a nice fire or Cook. There is also a Weber grill along with a picnic table. Although I enjoyed staying in the motel for many years. I'll have to say that I am glad that I decided to rent The cozy cottage, overlooking the beautiful lake. I loved all the light that came in through the large wraparound picture window. I enjoyed making lunch and dinner barbecue style. Steak, pork chops, chicken and ribs. Cold cut sandwiches. I could also bring leftovers from a restaurant and put them in the refrigerator to have the next day. Watching the fog lift off the lake in the morning or seeing a loon swimming in the water. One can also of course make use of the canoe available for guests. I was supposed to only stay a week but there was a cancellation and I ended up staying an extra four days as weather was perfect. Scott and Marsha made me feel very comfortable as usual in my home away from home. So if you are intending to vacation in the Adirondacks. You absolutely should stop at Indian lake and stay a week or two at Point Breeze. The entire grounds are beautiful quiet and peaceful. You might never want to come home again!
