I went to Jen several years ago because I loved how she cut my sister's hair. (we have thick, straight hair.) Jen also worked with me to achieve the color I was looking for - I'd been trying to go back to my natural color, and the salons in Chicago just weren't getting it. Though I live in LA now, I was home visiting and on a whim, called Jen to ask for an appointment. I've been wanting shorter hair, and Jen delivered an adorable, versatile cut that fit my face and my styling abilities. I had the lucky fortune to be recommended to Ashley 3 years ago by a friend and I have never looked back since. I'n addition to being a kind, compassionate, funny, and amazing person - Ashley is phenomenal at what she does. Danny Pierce has been cutting my hair for a while now, so naturally, I followed him when he moved from a downtown salon to Limited Edition. Danny does an excellent job on my hair and I don't trust anyone else to cut it. He takes his time, tells you about the product he is using and why (without pushing you to buy it though). Conversation is never strained and he even asks me about things I'd talked about during my previous appointment. He's got a good memory! Limited Edition is easy to find in Savoy, has plenty of parking. Inside the salon, it's clean and bright. Very nice! Though Danny is my stylist, all of the other staff seemed really friendly. This was the worst experience of my life and the customer service is terrible! I went to the salon and had Ashley Johnson as my hair stylist. I asked for Auburn balayage. First she gave me blonde highlights, nothing like what I asked for and so I went back the next day for her to add more Auburn and she added bright red streaks. It looked like a two year old took a paint brush and painted my hair with ketchup and mustard. She also stained my sweater with red hair dye. After I asked for a refund because she was clearly incapable of coloring hair and she was rude, very difficult to contact and would not refund despite her terrible services. The salon and her would not return my calls after promising they would and would not refund my hair coloring. I am not a picky person at all and I was embarrassed to be seen in public with my hair due to Ashley's terrible work. I do not recommend! read more

I was referred to this place through a family friend. Due to scheduling issues, I could not get my cut with Kristie so she asked me to make an appointment with Jen. I went in five minutes early for my appointment with Jen and she was ready and waiting for me. Incredibly friendly and experienced, she made some suggestions that I went with for my haircut and I was really pleased when I left the salon. I don't color my hair (yet) but I have heard nothing short of amazing reviews for this place for color. The place is clean and quiet. It's off the beaten path in Savoy (in the little shopping area near Sonic) but is easy to find. I would highly recommend this place to anyone unsure of where to get a haircut in Champaign-Urbana. I heard great reviews about Limited Edition, so naturally I called to make an appointment. My call went through to their answering service, which was fine, so I gave them my information and I was told I would be called back the next day. I never got a call from Limited Edition so I called once more the day after that. The receptionist, or whoever I talked to, was extremely rude on the phone and told me the colorist I asked to make an appointment with was busy and would call me back later. I once again gave them my information and said I was ready to make an appointment. Again I never received a call back from them. Limited Edition, if you want to make and keep new clients, I would highly suggest improving your customer service. read more

I am reviewing this place based on my experience with waxing. I saw Judy several times. I am indifferent about my experiences. Judy is good at what she does, she is efficient and makes you feel comfortable. However, the last 2 times I made an appointment with her, she was running over 30 minutes behind (she also did not seem very sympathetic or apologetic about it either when she finally brought me back). The last time, I waited 45 minutes actually, and had to leave because I was going to be late for work. I never received a call back from the salon or her offering to make up for this issue. I find that unacceptable. Her prices are not too bad though, compared to others in the C-U area. Most brazilian waxes cost 55-65, hers are only 45. I have come to realize it may not be worth the wait though. read more

Been getting my hair cut here for years and am happy with the place for sure. They are definitely in the high end of the price range for cuts in the Champaign area, but if you need more than a basic trim, your likelihood of walking away with a style you are happy with is much better here than at a discount place. Cuts are excellent, though a large portion of the client base seems to be middle aged women, the stylists are more than happy to do something more youthful/edgy if you're younger, or more age appropriate if older. Mens' cuts (like mine) they can do quickly and skillfully as well. Color is probably the strongest suit of the studio; several of the stylists are Redken color certified. I've been doing highlights for years here and get compliments on the natural appearance of my blonde (which is anything but natural!) The facility is very clean and well-maintained, with a small coffee bar and reading area for those waiting. The interior design is smart and welcoming; the outside of the building is somewhat plain since it is shared with other offices, so make sure you find the right door! Though they do take walk-ins, you're better off calling and making an appointment; the location is set back near a residential area, so there's nothing within walking distance to pass the time if there's a wait (unless you like hanging out in gas station convenience stores or at the Sonic drive in). The stylists' schedules do get full, but not so much that you can't get an appointment if you call a few days in advance. read more

This was my first time going to Limited. Needless to say, this is my new home for anything I want done with my hair. Jen was my stylist and she was absolutely amazing. She was very welcoming and sweet. I showed her a picture of the color I wanted to have and she matched it almost perfectly. I could not have asked for a better experience at a new place. I went to Tonya on three separate occasions. The first haircut was great and I had a great experience. She listened to me and considered my lifestyle in determining my cut. The second time I went to her, she was extremely distracted, kept walking off, and left me sitting in the chair with half of a haircut while she took a phone call from another client. I was displeased with the experience and the cut wasn't great, either. For some reason, I decided to give it another go in hopes that she was just having a bad day. No dice. She gave me a terrible cut, and I didn't really see how bad it was until I got home and had to dry and style the next day. I then saw my friend who also went to her, and she had the EXACT same cut I had, and we have very different types of hair. She hates her cut too. Tonya has proven to be a one trick pony, and her one trick is pretty terrible. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning. Aside from Tonya's negligence as a stylist, no one ever answers when I call the salon. I have to call several times in a row to get someone on the line, and when I finally have a real person, she has been quite rude. Each time I go, I have to wait several minutes before someone acknowledges that I've entered the salon and am waiting for an appointment. I have tried several different salons in the C-U area and Limited Edition is, by far, the best one around! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The staff are all very friendly and professional. The last time I was in, I got a color and cut with Kristie and she did an amazing job. I was a little hesitant to experiment with the color too dramatically, but Kristie helped me step out of my comfort zone a bit and try a new look....and I LOVE IT!
