Needed something quick for lunch today, and as usual, tacos sounded awesome. I ordered my food to go. I got in and out quick. The service was great ! Very friendly and greeted me right away. It's a nice small little place. I tried their beef tacos. And their beef was delicious. I used their red salsa and it had some heat to it, hit the spot ! Something's happened in the last couple months. Food quality and portions have gone way down. Chicken chimi used to be crazy full of chicken, but this time it felt like way less. A shame because their food used to be so hot and fresh. Hopefully it was just a one time thing. read more

Dont eat at the zoo! You can get a huge burrito here for less than 10 bucks, I got the pollo asado and it was really good. Less than 10 min walk from the zoo (ask to get your hand stamped before you leave if you want to re-enter). Fresh juices too. Friendly service too. read more

I've been told that this place way outclasses the place down the street, but I beg to differ. Other than the chips they served, I really didn't enjoy my food. It was a step above the local taco chain, but nothing more and the prices were slightly below the place down the street, but it wasn't worth the savings to my tastebuds. It deserves 2 stars because the service was friendly, and the food was ok and the prices were ok too, so not horrible, just not all that good. Can't beat a 24 hour fast food joint, especially of the non-national chain variety. At the moment, this newish Lina's location is the closest spot to my house to get my Mexican fix at any hour of the day. The menu is strikingly similar to what you'll find at other local Mexican chains (Abelardo's def comes to mind), but the prices are a tad bit cheaper than the competition. If you opt to eat in, they even offer you chips with your meal. If you want fast food made fresh to order that isn't complete garbage (looking at you McD's, BK, etc.), then Lina's is a must try. read more

I went to this location with a couple coworkers for lunch due to its proximity to work and because a different coworker informed us that this place was better than Abelardo's. I had also just eaten some bitter greens and needed to get some lasting residue off my tongue (sorry for the gruesome details). Better than Abelardo's? I don't think so. It is just a tad under. I ordered an Arizona, that's steak, bell peppers, and potatoes (and some other stuff I can't remember). I used to love Abelardo's burrito's with potatoes because they were actually french fries that were seasoned and deep fried (for you health nuts, I know it sounds gross when I put it down to words, but I am not eating at these places for my heart). Well, Abelardo's recently changed to just putting in unseasoned potatoes that are cut like fries. Soft, mushy, pretty flavorless (which reminds me, I need to update my Abelardo's reviews). In any case, Lina's was more of the same, except there filling was less seasoned than the big-A. It did come out hot and as-fresh-as-fast-food-burritos can be. It still tasted fine, just not as good as Abelardo's. Other points of interest: this location is in, what I thought was a newer strip mall. The outside looks updated, with nice brick and stucco. But when you go inside it look cheap and kind of drab. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting so it was off-putting. It was well-kept and clean though, so there's that. Service was also fast and courteous. It's always hard to gauge how good a place is based on reviews where the reviewer eats one item on the menu. Other items may be amazing for the price. I friggin' love this place. Why they didn't get the fifth star right off the bat - while the prices aren't *bad*, they could be a little lower. And they're not 24/7 like the competition. When I first lived in Omaha, I used to hit Alvarado's after the bar (which apparently transitioned to Abelardo's after I left Omaha). They aren't bad, but Lina's is better. The food tastes a bit fresher. The staff is really friendly. The portions are large. Their carne asada and their steak and egg burritos are outstanding, especially with their hot sauce (to which I like to add Tabasco). Whenever I swing by, I go into fatboy mode and get another burrito or two for the next day. Oh, if you're debating on local Mexican joints, hit the Health Department website - you'll find that Lina's has an "excellent" rating, whereas the local competition does not. read more

On my first visit here, I ordered the taco salad and a side of beans. The beans are served to you in a pint container for under $3, I couldn't even finish half of them before I was stuffed. My taco salad was loaded with meat and beans with cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of lettuce. I mean it's a taco SALAD not a meat and bean bowl. I also wish their menu stated what toppings are included on their entrees. Coming from someone who is allergic to avocado I was pretty bummed that I had to scrape half my salad in the trash and eat around the guacamole remnants. On my second visit I ordered the rolled taco plate. The shredded beef was tender and had great flavor. They definitely did not skimp on the melted cheese on top of the taco and even let me substitute the guac for extra sour cream. This plate included 4 rolled tacos, rice and beans for under $8. Lina's has opened its third location in Omaha, but unlike the other two very visible locals, this one you have really to know how to get to, even if you possess the address. The store front is tucked away, almost visibly hidden from a view from 90th St., situated on the SE corner of Bloomfield Plaza which faces west. The place is tiny, the drive thru menu is larger than the indoor seating area. Drive thru food comes out in fairly decent amount of time, but then, but then... You have to navigate through a back alley, miss that white van parked at the end, and find out how to turn south on 90th... Besides this adventure, the food is ok, I had the Country Burrito, (Breakfast - All Day) it is inexpensive, the portion sizes are well worth the pricing, and we are given another Mexican option in the area. This is a small restaraunt in the corner of a strip mall. There are 4 booths and 4 tables. The service was quick and friendly, but the food was average at best. The rice and beans were so bland I didn't eat more than a couple of bites. The shredded chicken was also bland, and I found it hard to eat my enchilada with plastic utensils. Let me just say that I really, really want to like Lina's. I love the fact that they serve shredded beef, which isn't an option at their close rival's. I have eaten here three times now. There are a lot of good things about Lina's - the location, the price, the HUGE portions (the Chimichanga combo is about 3 meals for me) the fact that they seem to be using fresh peppers and onions... But each time, about 1/4 way through my entree I wonder - why did I get this? The beans and rice lack flavor - of any sort. The shredded beef is a little tough and is in fact, burnt, tonight. (As in, crunchy burnt - no bueno.) And the guacamole is just sad. I perked up the Guac, beans and rice with the complimentary pico de gallo. But the Chimi is a total loss. Totally bummed. It appears to be an attempt to rip off Aberatos up the street! The menu looks nearly identical. Don't waste your time or money here. Drive a few blocks north and get the good stuff at Alberatos! The wife had one of their chicken dishes and said it tasted bad. It could be a nice place if they had someone who actually knows how to cook real Mexican food! I went through the drive-through at around 2:55 AM on a recent Sunday morning. The temperature was -3 F. Despite the late hour and cold weather, the woman behind the window was very friendly. When she handed me my order, I asked her if the restaurant was open 24 hours all week long or just on weekends, and she told me it's never open 24 hours; in fact, she said the restaurant was closing at 3 AM -- which was about two minutes away. I've been to many eating establishments where I've accidentally walked in near closing time and the staffers have let me know that my late presence was very unwelcome (a reaction I do understand, by the way). I thought it was great how gracious this woman was even though I was showing up literally minutes before closing on an especially frigid night. Thanks for the hospitality, Lina's! As for the chow itself, I ordered an adobada torta and it was not only delicious, but huge. read more

Normally love this Place. Today at lunch NO. I always call in so my food is ready. Limited lunch schedule. I called in 10 minutes to noon. I was told 5 minutes. 12:05 I show up to a dining room with just a few customers and 2 in the drivethru. I was told my 4 tacos would be an extra 5 minutes. 10 minutes later my food was put up, it was ignored. the 2 young ladies were busy in a conversation about one of their phones. several minutes later, my food still sat. This is a great option for a quick meal at a super reasonable price, the portions are very generous! The burrito is almost the size of my forearm, and they're delicious. I typically just get the ground beef burrito, but I have tried the chicken chimichanga, the shredded chicken burrito(I added pico de gallo), sausage breakfast burrito and the chips and cheese. I reccomend the white cheese and add pico de gallo for a little kick. We ate inside once, it's a smaller dining area, usually just pop through the drive-thru. I am giving it 4 stars for the menu clarity. It's a large menu which is great, but it doesn't really explain what is in everything. If you explore the menu on Yelp it tells you, but just rolling up to the menu, you'd have no idea. My kids are kinda picky, so I can't just order off the menu for them, we have to know ahead of time, so that makes the convenience of it a little difficult. The food alone would definitely qualify for 5 stars! read more
