Don't ever go to this one if you're a person of color. I came to this location on Saturday after leaving a nearby FedEx to pick up a package. I had a simple transaction- cashing a small child support check. There was an older white woman working and she appeared to be alone. She refused to cash my check because I didn't live in the area. WTF?? Check had my name on it and my license matched. She definitely got a piece of my mind before I left but i was so angry. I can't help but to think it was racial issue. Old white women are normally racist. She told me to go to some other location nearby on Lincoln. I'm like if you're saying you can't cash because I don't live in the area- then what are they gonna do? I have contacted corporate but have yet to hear from them. read more

Parking: iffy. Service: superb. I send money to Mexico monthly and get the best service here. I go out of my way to use this currency exchange for this purpose, even when I may be closer to other exchanges that could do the same thing. After reading some of the highly negative comments about this currency exchange, I VERY CAUTIOUSLY entered expecting either a Medusa-like worker with the customer services skills of a raging kraken (hmmm....reading too many Greek tales lately). Boy, were those negative comments WRONG.! The female behind the glass window was friendly, helpful and extremely nice. I seldom have need for a currency exchange but she was incredible. Went here to renew my license plate sticker and I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and tidy the place was, much different than most currency exchanges that I preciously visited (admittedly not many). Transaction could not have been quicker, though the 15 dollar service fee charged for paying with a credit card was a little steep. read more

Whoever was working today needs training. She is an elderly woman maybe mid 60s she was extremely rude and complained when I explained to her why I was there. She stated that she had been by herself all day long (as if this was my fault or problem) and everyone was bothering her for sticker renewals. When I couldn't provide everything needed for my sticker she explained when I finally had everything I needed, NOT to come back to her. I quote " when you have everything don't come see me I'm done with these stickers. Go to the currency exchange on Clark." How does this woman have a job?... read more

I came to this Currency Exchange because it was far cheaper to request my marriage certificate from a Currency Exchange then to request it online and it was close to home. Big mistake! I ordered my certificate and paid $20 cash at the Exchange 10 days after the wedding and waited 3 weeks, only to call and find out they had no record of my request. While the owner was very sympathetic and told me he would process my request again, and even expedite it, it's been another 3 weeks. Most times when I have called in, the older woman who answers cannot give me an answer about where the certificate is and tells me that I need to call back. Fed up and tired of waiting, I went to the Daley Center this morning, got 2 copies of the certificate for $19 while I waited, and will no longer have to keep contacting and waiting on the Currency Exchange. read more

Customer service was unfriendly, rude, and inconsistent. After following the teller's advice from a previous visit, I came back only to be turned away. This happened THREE times (each time after following the directions given the day before). Each visit, the clerk that day had different (and contradicting) information--all of which was incorrect. After explaining that I had spoken with 3 separate representatives, I was reprimanded and pushed out the door. The woman serving me was rude and unnecessarily unkind. Very frustrating experience. It was unhelpful and a waste of time. I will take my business elsewhere from here on out. read more

Great customer service. Of course I wait until the deadline to buy my city sticker and when I got to this location which is only a block away from my apartment, the owner said the system was down and was unable to run each request through the system. He offered people to pre-pay and come back once the system was up and running again. 5 hours later I got a call from him and I headed and picked up my sticker with no problem! CBS news was outside filming and let them know how great this guy was! read more
