What a painless experience! I went online to trade in dollars for peso and scheduled an appointment on a Friday. On Saturday I got an email stating that my money was ready for pick-up. This location is situated in the mall area of the Shops of North Bridge. There is parking in the 516 N Rush parking facility. Access to the currency exchange is just outside of Nordstrom, across from the Jellycat plushy store. You can access Nordstrom from the parking facility. You have to take the escalator to the top, then go through the store to the mall. The currency exchange itself is a small enclosed area. The young woman, Tricha, who took care of me and The Queen was super nice and very careful when it came to counting out our money. She was great. She explained the exchange rate and carefully told us how much we had requested in pesos and counted it out in a slow manner so we could see each bill being counted out. She also explained the process for us to return any money not spent in Mexico to get back dollars. We were driving into Chicago from St. Louis the day before an international flight to Europe. I contacted this business a week before we left, I called directly to inquire about getting Euros without preordering. I was assured that there would be no issue coming in during regular business hours to pick them up. We made the stop in the city before heading to our hotel at O'Hare and they were not open. It was Monday afternoon at 3:00. Seriously inconvenient! If you are having staffing issues, reduce and publish hours that work with the staff that you have. read more

Just had an amazing experience with Nicole and Fei and CXI. It couldn't have been easier. I needed to exchange a large sum of US dollars for a group of five travelers headed to multiple countries in Asia. I called on 12/6 (call in advance people!) and placed my order for four different currencies. Two days later, I picked up my currency. We exchanged some Japanese Yen before our honeymoon in April. It was very easy to place the order online. Somehow I thought once I placed the order online, I can lock the rate for that day and doesn't matter when I pick the currency up. That was totally wrong... The rate will be updated to the rate of the day you pick up, so if you see a good rate online, you'd better get the money exchanged on that day. Unfortunately, you should be aware that they may not have the currency/amount you need. I placed the order online on a Tuesday and was told the amount I needed wouldn't be ready until Friday... In short, it was a matter of luck to get the amount of the currency you want with the rate you want. The pickup location was in downtown Chicago and easy to find, but it was just a counter outside Nordstrom. Exchanging money, especially large amount of money, in a public place feels awkward. However, given their low fee, I still recommend this place. read more

Need to contact them. I made an online order for my daughter to pick up. When she got the currency and sent me a copy of the receipt I was surprised by the extra fees, that were not part of the original estimated cost. Also, exchange rate was lower than I expected based on other online sources. I would have gotten the currency locally where I lived but called multiple banks and could not find one to order cash for Vietnam. On two separate occasions about a week apart--Aug 1, 2022, and July 25, 2022--I arrived at the business to find it closed during its stated operating hours.
