Reason for 3 start and not 5.. the staff at the front desk was incredibly blah. She acted like she didn't want to be there and like it was a chore for her to help us. I wished she would have explained the direct pools, locations of bathrooms or quite frankly explained anything. She also didn't tell us that if you save your receipt you can go to the other hot springs for free across the road. I will come back here but I would suggest having a "secret shopper" to evaluate your staff.

We booked a whole week here this year just so we can enjoy the Hot Springs, full hook up camping, and tent camping. We called in May to make reservations, and the lady was quite friendly. We arrived a little bit late, and just found a parking spot to wait until they opened. When we stayed here a couple years ago it was $25 a night for full hook ups. That's right water, electric (30 amp) and sewage. The price has gone up to $35 a night. $10 a night for extra car as well as $20 for a dry camp spot. The Hot Springs/swimming pool is quite large has a slide, high dive, low dive and two Spas of varying heat. I think the hottest one was 106°F or 107°F. The average hours of this place is 10 AM to 10 PM though on certain days they don't open till noon. At the reception, they have a snack bar, pool table, a few video games, even a jukebox that plays through the whole swimming area. It is a bit rundown, but it is held me the way you like it. It's a great place for big groups and family reunions. There were 12 of us staying in a pull through campsite and there was plenty of room for all of the vehicles and three tents. We did just buy a new toy hauler, and this is the maiden voyage. It's been a great seven days.

It is clean...I hate the nasty reviews about the water being green. If you look at the water it is clear and clean, the green tint is literally the minerals that are suspended in the water, namely pyrite. They have at least two signs explaining the color of the water and the mineral build up, which I guess people don't read or believe. Whatever. Fun place for all ages.

Theres really so much to do here for the entire family. During peak season they even have a zip line open. The parking was ample, the bathrooms and park were kept clean, and the park really provided a nice well rounded experience for everyone. I definitely recommend stopping by here for the views if nothing else if you're in the area.

No lifeguard on duty our visit. There is no extra cost, just pay the fee to enter Shoshone park $5. Tip: not somewhere I felt welcome, from the stare downs and racist conversations overheard by me. For a $5 fee at the entrance to the park, access to both Dierkes Lake and the Shoshone Falls is a…read moregift. Both spots are very accessible, though it can be a hassle driving back up the windy hill in the later afternoon when the sun hits eye level. The lake itself has a structured area for swimmers, and visitors can go kayaking and such in the deeper waters. It even has a diving board into the swimming area, though many kids and teens opt to go cliff jumping. I took the plunge from one of the cliffs and my adrenaline was pumping for quite awhile afterwards. Best to stick to cannonballs, though, and keep in consideration the water depth. The water is cool/cold, but not intolerable, and certainly nothing compared to larger bodies of water. We visited in early June, and I assume that the water warms up later in the summer. Would absolutely visit again if I'm ever back in Idaho.

F R E E place to camp on the edge of a huge reservoir! Very remote and peaceful, although several…read moreboaters came by in the morning (it was a weekend). One vault toilet, and that's pretty much it, amenity-wise. We just set up camp in the road near that, by an old crumbling stone chimney and a few cottonwoods...but you could also camp down on the beach by the actual reservoir. Dirt road in and out, no 4WD necessary...although the road is bumpy in places.
