I have been a long-time customer of Liquid FX pool, so am very disappointed to have had such a negative experience. Liquid FX came out to do the "winter service" in February of 2023. The pool water level was quite low at the time. The pool tech who came out opened the pool cover and was unable to close it again as it had broken. The Pool cover company had told me previously that the pool cover should NEVER, NEVER, NEVER be opened when the water level was low. I was told that opening the pool cover with low water level VOIDS THE WARRANTY. The Liquid FX pool technician opened the pool cover despite the obviously low water level which then voided the warranty. Liquid FX billed me for the damage to the pool cover. They stated that while the damage could have been their fault, there were "many variables" that could have impacted the cover breaking. They went on to say that it was my responsibility to maintain the water level. Clearly, when the technician saw the low water level he should have aborted and not opened the pool cover. They have refused to reimburse me for the cost of the pool cover repair even though their actions directly voided the warranty on the pool cover. I was billed for this after the Cover care company refused to cover the costs given the voided warranty. Additionally, when liquid Fx came out to open the pool in the spring they did a completely substandard job. What I found when I came home was the Chlorine level registering at 0 and the pool water was cloudy. The skimmer valve was reversed so the pool was not skimming but rather blowing water out the skimmer. The valve to the chlorine cannister was in the off position so no water was flowing through the chlorine cartridge. The pool Pump was not programmed to run. The pool was unusable as I found it. I contacted their office and received an extremely dismissive response stating that "the opening was completed ("skimmed, vacuumed, chemicals added, equipment started up") I spent several hours problem solving the system and adjusting the valves. I purchased additional chlorine to bring up the chlorine and adjusted the pH. Needless to say, that after such horrible and disrespectful customer service I have severed my business with liquid FX. It is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business in Boise. read more

I originally contacted Brandon Cobb on May 11, 2021.  After waiting a month for availability to have a 30 minute phone call this finally took place on June 15th. I provided Brandon with details of what we wanted for our inground spa with photos, blueprints of my house, and a draft drawing. Brandon stated he would give us a design and quote in 2 weeks. I have spent nearly 2 months trying to get a hold of  Brandon via email and phone to which he has been completely unresponsive. After 3 months I am back to square one looking for other companies to do this project. If Brandon was not interested in this job he should have been transparent from the start rather than wasting 3 months of my time. They were awesome when they installed our pool originally. Since that they have completely dropped the ball. They were the only company servicing our pool since the day they filled it. After 2 years we noticed some discoloration, after months of trying to get Caleb to look at to diagnose the issue he finally came to the conclusion it was from imbalanced chemicals and was calcium build up. They refused to do anything about it. Over the last two years it has only gotten worse even with weekly testing and keeping the chemicals balanced exactly as they said to. It's to the point where it's so rough your feet are raw after being in it for an hour. We tried a couple quick fixes as recommended by other pool companies, and it's too far gone. So at 4 years old we have to drain it and repolish the entire thing. Absolutely unbelievably they won't take care of a problem they self admittedly caused. Terrible service... out of approximately three months service on my pool they didn't show up for 3-4 weeks blaming a software issue. Then when they did show up they left the water running and flooded my pool cover cavity which was also left open trashing my pool during the following wind storm... pool cover motor shorted out due to being flooded and took several days to dry out so I could finally close up the pool. We worked with Brandon to build our diving pool/spa/fire pit. Brandon is a great guy and knows how to build pools in Idaho. I am from Arizona and had a ton of questions for him since I am generally familiar with pools. He took the time to explain the differences of building a pool in Idaho, including why certain materials don't work in Idaho due to the climate difference. Because Brandon had worked with our builder previously, they put him on their schedule so the project could be completed before our home was finished. Every step of the way we worked with Brandon on adjustments and he was great at coming up with design suggestions both up front and along the way as needed. On one instance, we came to him asking about adding a return line for a water slide. This was right before they were going to fill in all the trenches, but he jumped on this change with zero push back and even adjusted the concrete footprint to accommodate the change. On another instance, Brandon let us know that the length of the pool was just a foot shorter (not his fault, the builder plans were just slightly off on the plot lines). This meant our Baja shelf steps needed to be adjusted from our original design to preserve the size of the Baja shelf we wanted. He immediately came up with an alternative design to the steps that looked great. Even post build, Brandon has been responsive on fixing any issues we noticed after the fact. I would 100% recommend Brandon to anyone looking to build a pool. read more

Will give the good and bad. Brandon is a really nice and skilled guy and a stickler for detail. Was great working with him. He has used a photo my pool/falls/fire bowls in his ads in Eagle for probably 6 months now. Gorgeous work. Cost about $80k. The bad. He's been promising to level the upper falls for going on 2 years and now refuses to respond to even queries on the plan (if any). The band-aid fix is failing. Follow-up service is just as important (if not more) than the original quality of work. I hope to be able to revise this review as I really don't like giving negative reviews, but unfortunately, folks should be aware of the issue. Side note: I continue to use them for winterization and dewinterization. First year was great. Last year, new crew. Broke my large electrical j-box without saying so. Absolutely the best! If possible, would double rating to "10". We searched long and hard for a company to build our pool and were blessed to find Brandon. Throughout the entire process, Brandon set the highest standards for his work. Used only the finest materials from the most reputable suppliers. The entire project was completed earlier than promised with unbelievable attention to detail. The pricing was below our budget, which allowed us to upgrade to a larger spa and water features for our pool. Probably most impressive was how closely Brandon worked with other contractors on site who were building our fire pit and pool house. On one occasion, his crew (comprised mostly of dedicated and skilled family members) jumped in to solve an excavation problem related to the other work in our backyard. He is driven by a motivation to do his absolutely best for the benefit of his client. Couldn't help but treat him like a family member.
