I've learned about headshots and night shooting from Rachel (paid mentorship when I reached out to her for help--a standard practice in photography), and she shot a few headshots of my mom. Rachel is wonderful to work with! My fiancé and I purchased the "Classic Engagement" package, two outfit changes and two locations for an hour and a half. The price and the quality of photos are definitely worth it, as there are other local photographers charging a lot more for even less photo shoot time. Our initial date was snowed out, and I received a phone call from Rachel having no problem rescheduling to the next week, even a few days before Christmas. I took a mini portrait session here a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't worth $95. Rachel herself was very sweet, sent instructions ahead of the shoot and delivered on time. My issue is with the overall quality of pics compared to what you pay. The photos were not taken in a studio, instead in the lobby of a building and it looked like it was going through some improvement work. Hence the lighting was pretty crappy - nothing professional about it. Also, you get only one retouched photo and I wasn't happy with the way it was retouched - it changed my complexion and features. Looking at the other reviews, I am guessing the results are better for larger scale shoots but the mini-portrait isn't worth it. read more
