Ginny Filer Thomas is truly an expert! She did head shots for me (first ever!). I retired at the end of January after 32 years in the Federal Government service. I started my own consulting business and needed head shots. I remembered that she was in the neighborhood, and I wanted to support her since she had previously offered free head shots for those who had been fired from the Federal Government. Our photo shoots have become a tradition that my and my daughter look forward to each year. Ginny helped us capture so many beautiful moments in the first few days of bringing our baby girl home. I was really nervous since this was our first baby and I wasn't sure what to expect. All I knew was that I wanted professional Newborn photos of her. Ginny was amazing from start to finish. She prepared us well on what to expect and how to prepare. With babies, you never know what they might do for a photo session but our little girl was amazing all the way through. Ginny has such a way with babies! She even brought a little heater to keep her warm and snuggly for those great newborn baby shots! We felt safe and that she has some amazing ideas and came fully prepared with things we didn't even think about. We are a family of 7 with kids ranging from 13 years to 1 year old. Two are biological and three adopted--we just recently finalized one of the adoptions, so these were our first family photos with our new addition, the one-year-old. We recently had the pleasure of doing a sleepy/posed newborn photography session with Ginny at our home, and we couldn't be happier with the overall experience and the gorgeous photos we received! From the moment she walked in the door, Ginny was warm and friendly, patient, professional, and amazing with our 2-week old baby girl. She came bearing lots of options for different blanket colors and textures, headbands, little hats, and assorted other props that helped vary the pictures, and also customize them for what my husband and I had in mind. We were very impressed that she somehow managed to coax our little girl into a cozy sleep that lasted most of the session. When it unraveled, and our daughter got fussy and hungry, Ginny was great about taking a timeout from the session so I could feed her. For a price that is very affordable given my research into other photographers, we received 150+ digital photos in less than a week's time, and needless to say, we're thrilled with the pictures, and feel she really captured this special time in our little girl's life, and helped us preserve those memories :).
