This part of the event was catered by Cork & Knife Provisions out of Toledo, and it was hosted/served by people from Willowbend Country Club in Van Wert. The church was absolutely beautiful! It had this rustic feel to it. Being next to the farm and vineyards made it truly picturesque. They also had someone playing the harp, while we were eating and drinking. It was a magical start to an amazing evening at Lincoln Ridge Farms. I remember while here, I actually said to myself, you know this would be a great place to be married in. Each time, I either called or ordered directly from their website. In my case, I ordered the "Spring Favorite" from their website for around $42 plus delivery. The recipient was very pleased and so was I: the arrangement that was delivered was actually better than the picture I ordered from. This never happens with FTD or teleflora. And let's face it, flowers are expensive and you want to get what you pay for, right?? Additionally, I made an after-hours purchase (online) and the flowers were delivered just after noon the next day. It really couldn't have been a better experience both with convenience and product. I will continue to use Lopshire when I need to send flowers, and I hope they will continue to offer the quality for the value as I have always received.

The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society is located just outside of Fort Wayne in New Haven. My…read morefamily came to the historical society on December 2, 2023 for their annual Christmas Caboose trains. It certainly was an interesting experience. It's in a real train yard, and you have time before boarding to tour of the engine of a train and speak to people who have been engineers on a train. Truly fascinating. It was a cold day, thankfully they also had a food truck the sold coffee and hot chocolate available, i grabbed a coffee on the way out. They also had a gift shop available, it sold shirts, coffee mugs, carved wooden trains and other items. Once the train was ready, we got coach area and off we went. It was a small train ride, just 20 minutes. This train ride, also was really meant more for children. There was a santa who would go from passenger car to passenger car to great children. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who has children! The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical society also runs longer rides from other areas and they have interesting events. I would suggest you look at their website: https://fortwaynerailroad.org Again, although this was meant more for children and families with children, it was a fun experience and helped me think of a time where trains were the primary mode of long distance transportation in landlocked areas. It made me want to go on ones more for adults and i may go on another from the historical society. I also want to go and travel long distance on a train to a destination in the future, perhaps one over mountains! That sounds cool! Again, I definetly recommend this!

Making reservations was easy to do on line. The Angola depot was easy reach as it is located right by a large parking lot on the Trine campus. Upon arrival everything is pretty well signed and straightforward. Lots of friendly-train-loving volunteers to get you to the correct location. The check in process was very easy as you showed you electronic tickets. They gave you an event card and drink tickets. The host, Starr, was absolutely a gem. She and the rest of the staff was very friendly and genuinely grateful that you were there. The trio of musicians was a nice touch. Very friendly group of guys just playing some easy going old-time music to put you in the mood. The drink line was a bit long. However they had a decent selection of drinks. It was nice that they let you bring your own food and drinks to supplement theirs. The chocolate pies were very tasty. The chocolate was rich and creamy with a nice flaky crust. As for the ride..you will find that the seating is very tight. Today's passengers are much bigger than those in the 1800's. It is very difficult for Teo couples to sit in the same grouping of seats. The good news is there is lots of "extra" seating in which you can spread out once everyone is seated. On this trip they advertised it as wine and chocolate. We used four drink tickets to get a bottle of wine from Hartland winery. That is a good partnership for the train as Hartland does an jive job with their wines. The provided chocolates were a small pastry and a "cheesecake style" ball. The chocolate pasty was delicious as it was rich and had a bold dark chocolate taste. Made you wish it were a bit larger. The cheesecake bit was very soft, creamy and had a traditional plain cheesecake taste. It was covered in a crumble of crust that made it easier to handle. Note...the emphasis of the trip really isn't the wine or dessert...it's the train adventure. Which was worth it. The car ride was rather smooth. Maybe enough to rock you to sleep. At times they struggled with the A/C. The country side was nice...not a lot of real attractive things on our route. It was nice to see how the communities embraced the train as it rolled through their towns. Overall...great experience. Give it a try!! It another note. I heard some people talk about purchasing premium seating. We found that the regular prices seating was just as enjoyable.

On the day of the wedding, everything ran so smoothly, and we didn't have to worry about a single thing. One of our favorite parts was how seamlessly everything flowed. Girls prep area doesn't have a restroom?? Not enough outlets for curling irons, steamers, etc. There's a barn door between the staff area and the girls' prep area that doesn't close well. No privacy. The guys area is a joke. They get the bar area and then hurry up and pick up before your guests get there. 3. The bathrooms are filthy, and the lighting in the women's restroom is terrible. 4. Appetizers were served during happy hour. The table, which was devoured, was left that way until after dinner. It needed to be picked up and removed. This is where I needed my camera. Meat on the floor..... 5. Outside wedding - but no one mowed...? Really. Becareful if you are outside - ruff terrain. Not good for elderly guests. 6. BUT THE TRUE KICKER WAS..... air conditioning not working during a 90-degree day.... it was miserable. Thank God my kids were happy. If you don't know what biosolids are you may need to search online as you maybe grossed out however if you have ever used milogranite on your lawn, it is essentially the same thing. It is sewer waste that has been treated and cleaned which can be used as a slow-release fertilizer. This is a resource that is made available to local residents for free if you haul it away. They also have broken down wood which you can buy as a cheap mulch and they will take away your old trees and clipping for a low cost. One important tip is follow the instructions when you enter this area. Only one vehicle is allowed to proceed into the weigh pad before you enter. The biosolids unfortunately are not granule, but a dark-colored sand. You have to bring your own container and equipment to collect. Due to the material not being granules, I found it quite difficult to spread on the lawn, but for others that are using it in there garden, it is quite a powerful fertilizer that will green up any garden fore free.
