I told her what color I wanted & she looked at my wrist. She pointed to glass cases from highest to lowest grade. Standing in front of the glass case, left most expensive to right less expensive. Then she has some behind the counter that I believe are even less in price. So whatever your budget, you can find a bangle that you want. I chose 3 different ones & of course one of them was $5k after the discount. I said no Ty to that one, even though it was so beautiful, but I did find another one I loved. Such a wonderful experience at Linda Boutique! I arrived about 30 minutes before opening and was first in line, and shortly after the store opened there were already about 10 people waiting outside, so I definitely recommend coming early! Linda was so sweet, patient, and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain the different types of jade, including the difference between real jade and treated jade, as well as the different grades and quality. I wanted a really nice bracelet that honestly represented me, instead of going with a brand name bracelet I fell into the rabbit hole of traditional bracelets or in this case jade bangles. First off, the wait time in this place is unbelievable! My wife and daughter were in line to enter this place for more than 3 hours! They insisted that they had the best jade price in the area...but my wife and daughter bought two jade bangles for around US$700.00+. Where did the 65% discount go...? Don't tell me that the price was discounted at 700 dollars... The reason why the line was long is because they only service one group at a time. I don't think that is a merit for this store...and I did see a few people in line leave. Maybe if they have a few more sales staff inside, the line wouldn't have been that long... I'll say that the store was nicely lit and decorated. The staff were knowledgeable of their wares. They take you to a little lecture on how to tell if a jade is of good quality (they bang the jade to produce this sound...the higher the tone/pitch, the better the jade). If you walk through Chinatown you'll see several stores selling jade. For our first time, we didn't know where to start or how to not get ripped off. But, we found Linda Boutique on Yelp and checked her Instagram and she is also on TikTok. Everyone rated her shop so highly we had to come here! There are 2 parties max in the store allowed, but it really makes it a nice intimate, VIP feeling experience. We came by to the store and they told us to come back in 30 min. (She may tell you a return time depending on how busy she is). There was no line, but there was already a party in the store. This was a Sat in early Dec around noon. We were greeted by Cecilia who was so nice while Linda finished up another transaction. Linda first shows you 3 grades of jade and let's you guess which is the most expensive. Then she tells you the different grades. It's fun to see the differences in quality. Linda has been in the business for 16+ years so you can trust her as she knows her stuff! She will measure you next and all she had to do was hold my hand and she knew my size! You tell her what kind of bangle you are looking for (I told her the B/C grade was okay with me as we wanted an affordable first bangle). She chose a few that she thought I would like and let me try them on and look in the mirror. We started our looking at Grade B bangles, but I ended up with the most beautiful Grade A bangle! She found one within our budget and I was so happy with the price and quality. She just knew which would look wonderful on me and picked a beautiful color/shade/pattern. It also comes with a certificate. I can't stop looking at it and I feel so happy to wear it (it was also a Christmas gift from my husband to me ) but it is fun to go to the store and experience everything. We definitely will be back! My husband and I were in town for a birthday vacation, and we happened to stumble across Linda Boutique while exploring Chinatown. We absolutely did not intend to buy jade accessories, but man did we get sold on it lol! Like others have said, Linda showed us three jade bangles (where 1 was fake, and 2 were real jade of diff quality), which was fun to guess. We were initially interested in maybe couples' rings, but absolutely got sold on a jade bracelet for me lol. She eyeballs your wrist/hand size and starts bringing out jade bracelets for you to try on. I learned I'm a 53mm bangle AND the process of how to put on and remove a bracelet: she'll put lotion on you and have your elbow placed on the counter with your hand held up. Then she'll slide the jade bangle onto your wrist in one go. It's quite impressive lol. Don't be afraid to tell her what color/type of bracelet you want. I wanted a more "slender" bangle vs the more traditional chunky kind, and I didn't want white/other colors. Love my blue-green jade bracelet, and my husband loves his ring. :) See photos!! I expected some of what she did but there's two main negatives I'll point out. 1: Her prices are too high. 2: if you're there as a couple she will play on the man to sell the woman. I'll list a few of my favorite quotes "She's getting a skinnier bracelet to save you some money" "A woman with this good of taste is worth a lot. Do you value her?"
