I've been to this store a few times now and they have a great selection of jewelry. Over the weekend I came in to purchase a bracelet I was eyeing online and to get a permanent bracelet. They don't have any prices for their permanent bracelets so I had no idea what to expect but I knew I wanted 14k gold, and I was most interested in a Cuban chain. This could have been a case of miscommunication coupled with the fact I don't like confrontation, but when I asked about the price I swore I was told ~$250. That seemed reasonable to me, I've been looking into Cuban chains and that was the price point I was seeing for about that size in 14k. When it came to checkout the price was $2,450 for just the permanent bracelet.....I was in a rush and again, don't love confrontation, so I paid and left but I feel like I seriously over paid for this tiny light weight chain. I was planning on getting more bracelets and jewelry plus some new piercings but after this I don't know if I trust their prices. I think I may use them to find cool jewelers, but purchase elsewhere. It's my fault I didn't double check the price, I take ownership in that. I would just caution against the permanent jewelry, at least learn from my mistake and get the price in writing not just verbally. Update: wow that was a super fast response! I got my first ear piercings at age 8 with a gun at the mall. I am decades from that day now. My first lobe piercings have stretched with wear and time to the point that almost any earring looks like it will rip out of my earlobe. I arranged a consult with Ben, who asked detailed questions, assessed my current stack and suggested I had enough lobe health to do a piercing stacked on top of my first piercing. This will allow me to wear studs together or to wear a statement earring in the new hole without the issue of more stretching. He recommended jewelry options based on my style, then brought me back to do the piercing same-day (it was a Monday morning, so the store wasn't busy). He was meticulous in the setup and talked me through every step of the process. Easy and done. It's been two weeks and my new piercings are healing beautifully and I am already loving the placement and the options it affords me. When worn with earrings in my original first piercings, the two stacked together actually detract from the stretching. Ben is a total pro. It's been 13+ years since I got my last lobe cartilage piercings that never healed and had to be taken out, so I was quite nervous to get my cartilage pierced again! It was a breeze scheduling an appointment. My best friend and I decided to get piercings together so we scheduled one appointment after another. We met our piercer, Brooke, and from the start she gave us consultations on what we were looking for. My best friend knew what he wanted, but I wanted a second opinion since my other cartilage piercings didn't heal. She recommended against a mid-helix and said that a conch would be perfect for me. Once we decided on piercings, we looked at jewelry. Just to let you know, the jewelry is solid gold so it's priced accordingly. My snake earring was $150, but it'll be in for at least 10 months while it heals, plus my mom's zodiac sign is snake, so I didn't mind the price. After the jewelry was selected, Brooke got the room prepared for the piercings and we were able to get our piercings together. Brooke is extremely professional and my piercing did not hurt one bit! It was more shocking to feel it pierce through, but it wasn't 1/10 on pain. Brooke gave us a cute goodie bag that included a saline spray mist and healing instructions. 7 days later my ear piercing still hasn't swelled or hurt and has healed incredibly well. I went to the Valencia location. Parking is super hard to find, so I highly recommend taking public transportation. The 16th st Bart station is a few blocks away. Store has lots of jewelry selections. A lot of unique places that would be great gifts, if you're willing to drop $$$ on it. Went in the store and it was pretty busy. All of the workers were helping other people. Took a while to get the attention of the reps. Once we got help, I told the rep what I wanted and since they didn't have my size, I had to order it. They said it would take 6-8 weeks but it took way longer than that. I ordered my ring in Feb but it came in at the end of May. I also didn't hear any updates from the reps on my ring, until I personally had to reach out to them to get the update but I would've appreciated if they would've called me to let me know it's delayed. read more

Beautiful jewelry, nice employees, less than stellar results. I came as a walk-in for an ear piercing. For context I have nothing pierced. My ear lobes were pierced 20 years ago and closed up since then. I have not worn earrings in over 6 years. I am basically new to getting pierced. The piercer was very kind and friendly. They said my old holes could be reopened which I thought made sense. They stab. They finish. I look. The holes are way too low on my ear lobe. I can see where there was a misunderstanding but there I did not get asked to double check where the hole was. It's not like I remember where I was pierced 20 years ago and my ears have been bare for 6. I trusted them to find the best spot. I reached out asking what I could do but response was "pull them out and make another appointment." No mediation of fixing it or offering to help. I won't be coming back here for any piercings in the future because they did not ask me if I liked the placement of my hole at any point. No marking or recommendation made. Lesson learned for me to double check before they commit. Also just very disappointed with their customer service since no solutions were given. I dropped $500 +tip. The prices for the different earrings are definitely on the higher end (compared to Claire's and Zebra) but it's because Fiat Lux uses fine jewelry with real gold and real diamonds. My best friend and I came here to get permanent bracelets. The employee was extremely helpful and nice. She showed us a bunch of styles. My friend and I liked this specific one so she showed us the smaller one and said it would be 210 and the thicker one would be 410. We both decided on the smaller chain. They make sure you like the fit of the bracelet before infusing it. We joked around with the employee and soon enough I had my bracelet on. My friend goes next and gets hers done. We walk up to the counter to pay and she has the tablet and goes actually let me make sure of something real quick. She gets this tool out and says "will you hate me if it's $100 more?" We were both caught off guard and were like uhhh I guess not. I think she should have given us the price she told us from the start when she first showed us the two different thicknesses. I've been to Fiat Lux twice and I am always impressed by their kindness and professionalism. I have never been somewhere that had such amazing service I felt the desire to leave a review (nor the contrary). But Fiat Lux really went above and beyond. Brin at the front is so sweet and fun to talk to! I went in late July for an eyebrow piercing with Ben. He was very nice and had such a smooth process. Then yesterday, I came in with my friend who wanted her lip pierced, and I would change the bar on my eyebrow. We were 15 minutes late, but they didn't stress us about it because the previous client was still inside. After the consult and chosing jewelry, we went with Frank to the piercing room. At this point it was ten minutes till closing! So, I asked if we should come back for my eyebrow and Frank told me it was okay. Then he was very intentional with every mark he made and truly did amazing work! They communicated with my friend on what she preferred and letting her know when and how to keep her mouth. He was very helpful and answered our many questions. Then changing my bar went smoothly, I mentioned the ball would loosen when I cleaned it and they made sure to tighten one end with a tool and the other very tight. Not to mention Wednesday was sweet too and fascinated by the piercings we got. It was the best service I've experienced at a piercing shop and will always go to them for my piercing needs!! I'm so happy they're now offering under the mask services again!! I booked a jewelry install appointment yesterday for today. I arrived 15 min early because I knew I would be indecisive. Once I showed Brooke my proof of vaccination, I told her both options I was entertaining: For either option, I wanted to change the yellow gold circular barbell in my septum to a snug ring and for my nostril, the septum would be paired with either: - a stud - a more dramatic hoop (I currently wear a simple 18G hoop) For the latter, I was worried it might look a little too much. Brooke (I loved her as my piercer at Rose Gold's!) was really patient and showed me all of my options. She gave me a lot of things to think about, and reassured me throughout. She took me back into the room to look at the size of my piercings. (At the time, I didn't know what I was working with). I ended up choosing a more dramatic 16G rose gold hoop for my nostril, with a 16G rose gold hoop for my septum. The advantage of keeping the 16G hoop for the septum is that I can easily switch back to my yellow gold circular barbell if I need to hide it. We go back into the room, and she had me lie down while she removed both piercings. Switching the septum was easy, but she warned me there would be a little more of a pinch with my nostril, since we're going from a 18G to 16G. I inhaled, exhaled, and it was done!!! I am obsessed with how it turned out!! Even my mom complimented how good it looks!! I ended up buying a flat stud, too-- to have the option of switching the nostril ring out to a stud in the future. I take comfort knowing I can easily book another install appointment if needed! Thanks, Brooke, as always! Even one time, when there was no one else in there, the employee (who I think may have been the owner), was just sitting on a couch and looked up at me when I walked in but didn't say a single word or acknowledge me. She did stuff on her computer and then just went into the back, not even bothering to ask me if I needed help. I wanted to look at some jewelry, but at that point she was completely MIA. I waited a few minutes and no one came to help. So bizarre. Overall, not the most friendly shop and not a very good selection of white gold either. Note: you definitely need to make an appointment in order to get your permanent jewelry. If you want to be in an out however they're also accommodate walk-ins for appointments around 5 PM but you should double check the website. Now I did not mention that all of this is quality jewelry and that does come with a high price but then again this jewelry will be on you for a long time seeing as it's permanent! Eventually my anklet didn't work out for me so o went back and they were kind enough to remove the change and make me a bracelet and a lil ring with the leftover change. I've gone to other shops for permanent jewelry and the quality was nowhere near as great as the Fiat Lux. TLDR: I had a great piercing experience, but the jewelry was overpriced and kept randomly falling out of my ear, and I didn't receive much help from the business on getting it replaced. Hmm I guess I had a similar experience to some of the 1-star reviews. I got both earlobes pierced, and overall the actual experience was great, but the product itself was very questionable. I paid roughly $350 for the piercing + jewelry, and the earrings were just tiny basic white gold pyramids (the brand is Pupil Hall) which I thought seemed really overpriced, but given the overall experience I wasn't too upset. But then, after a couple weeks, one of the studs started falling off the backing at random times (sitting at a restaurant, doing yoga, and sitting at my desk), so I decided to call to see if they could fix/replace it. The piercer wasn't in until a few days later, so I set up the appointment but unfortunately the stud fell out two days before my appointment and I couldn't find it (and I actually have no idea when/where it happened, I didn't notice until later that day when I was looking into a mirror). I was reallllly hoping that based on the pricing here they would help me out a bit, but unfortunately that wasn't the case and I ended up having to pay another $128 for a replacement. When I went to get the replacement the piercer also noticed that the backings were way too long on my ears (this was my first piercing so I had no idea they came in different sizes) and she replaced them to a size that fit my ears much better. I was thankful for this because they look so much less droopy now, but I don't know why they gave me such long ones to begin with, as this likely played a part in them falling out(?) I really wanted to love this place because the staff are all so friendly and helpful, and the jewelry is all very unique, but unfortunately the pricing is just insane, especially given the jewelry isn't the highest quality and can easily fall out. I've already replaced the studs I bought with a cheaper pair I got online because I'm afraid they will randomly fall out again :( If you're someone who has more money than you know what to do with, then this place is definitely great (especially for very specialized piercings or unique jewelry) but if you're just wanting a more basic ear piercing/jewelry there are some better options in the city, especially around Haight-Ashbury. read more

There's one person doing permanently jewelry, another person piercing, a person tucked to the side in the back of the store making jewelry, sales people trying to juggle people coming in and out of the store all while helping people try things on and getting their fingers sized ... all I can think is WTF is happening here! As I watched everything happen all at the same time all I can do is think to myself : "I have worked in sales but I dont know if I could work here because there are soooo many personalities a person needs to entertain. " Big applause to the people that work here. I was there the last Friday of October and the place was bursting at the seams. Thank goodness I had time to enjoy all they had to offer so I was able to take in all of the selections. When the woman finished with a few people who had gotten there before I had she was very gracious and was happy to help me. I didn't feel rushed and she was attentive to what I was looking for. She even showed me some things I wouldn't normally select myself which I was pleasantly surprised about. I ended up finding the perfect gift for a friend. The young woman doing the permanent bracelets was so precise in her work and informative about each piece. Very impressed. The piercer was knowledgeable of her products and seemed to make her clients comfortable with the information on the process of what they were going to do step by step. Yes the place can get wild.. just remember to be patient and enjoy the beautiful things that are there for you to enjoy. Last thing I wanted to emphasize on... I am a little older and I feel that people still havent learned anything about what has happened in the last 3 years with covid yet they have no problem not wearing a mask sneezing or coughing without covering their mouths. I love the fact that they still wear masks in the store. Though they dont require people who come in to wear one which I wish they would but now a days not many places do. I really wanted to like this shop, and I've actually tried visiting it on two separate occasions a couple of years apart. During my first visit I was assisted by an abrasive and dismissive salesperson. I thought maybe trying to give this boutique another shot years later would do the trick, but it didn't... During my most recent visit (10/28) I stopped in with my partner and friend. It was busy, so we let the salesperson know we'd return in a few minutes. Upon our return the salesperson was still busy so we looked around more and we were really excited to try quite a few pieces on, but the salesperson made an extremely rude comment to me and asked "would you like a mask or a glass of water because you're coughing all over the place". I had cleared my throat a handful of times. She went on to say "I'm asking selfishly. Some people will get it and some people might be offended". I made it clear that I was offended, and it was also clear that the client she was in the middle of assisting when she made the comment was made uncomfortable by what she said. I work in customer service as well, and I would NEVER speak to a client in this way. It was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and insensitive. This boutique has a great selection of pieces, so much potential, but I can't bring myself to give my business to an establishment with a team that doesn't provide a certain caliber of client experience. And for our wedding ring, we received help from Marie (SF, CA) who kindly sent pictures of five rings that stuck perfectly with my engagement ring. Those pictures were the key, it helped me to feel that I was making the right decision. We were very close to the date, and then the unpredictable happened, I mistook the size of my ring. I emailed Marie for suggestions and she offered to send my correct size without hesitation (obviously, I had to pay for the express shipping). The most important part is that in the process of selecting my wedding ring I never felt any type of pressure, communication was clear and expedite (even tho we were miles apart), and she solved a problem without hesitation. I had a really unfortunate piercing and customer service experience. I came to get my earlobes pierced and experienced irritation a couple months in. I came back to get them checked and they said that the woman who pierced them put one of them in at the wrong angle and that I'd have to get it removed, wait for it to heal, and then get it re-pierced. They said that "it happens" and refused to give more than a $25 refund, even though the entire cost of both piercings was over $400. They also make you buy their really expensive jewelry, which makes the overall price extremely high and allows them to justify only a service fee refund. read more

They do "bespoke-ish" rings, and my partner wanted a color-changing or bi-colored sapphire, and Fiat Lux went out and found six unique gems that fit that description and our budget. I was recommended here by a coworker and I owe her! I booked an appointment with Perry on a Sunday and got three piercings (tragus, conch and flat). They have beautiful jewelry here. It's pricey, but you get what you pay for! Perry was incredibly knowledgeable and so nice. You can tell he loves what he does. Perry walked me through the entire process - from picking the jewelry, what piercings would work best on my ear, and made the piercing as quick and painless as possible! I felt like I was in good hands the entire time and the piercing area was spotless. Perry sent me home with a cute pouch that included saline spray, contact info if I had questions and directions for taking care of my new piercings. Don't get pierced here!! I can't stress enough how rude and shitty this place's policy is. I made an appointment to get my septum pierced, consequently I had to put down a $50 deposit which is pricy! I didn't anticipate the lunar new year holiday traffic and called ahead telling them I would be 10 minutes late. They stated it was fine. I got to the appointment just barely 15 minutes past my appointment time and they told me they could no longer see me. They stated it is a 45 min slot for each appointment? Which seems super long and i feel that I could've been seen with the 30 minutes remaining in my slot, that I PAID for. I lost my $50 deposit and they were super rude. All my favorite pieces come from them and am building a nice jewlery box. They are very friendly and have helped with sizing and some repairs.
