I live relatively close by so was advised to bring first patient here first and while he was in surgery, I could drive my other patient to the office. It was all very well organized and my sons said the surgery went well. They both said it went very fast but that's because they were sedated. Recovery went well and sons followed all protocols. Dr. called at the end of the day to check in on them, which was very appreciated. Great service, nice and welcoming staff. Dr. is patient and highly efficient. PLEASE READ PRIOR TO COMMITTING TO THIS DOCTOR. Just like the other reviews have mentioned - this doctor is a scammer, disrespectful to her patients, and extremely unprofessional. I paid $175 out of pocket for another 3D x-ray to "locate my nerves," only for her to end up extracting one wisdom tooth instead of 2. She claimed that she couldn't take out my impacted wisdom tooth that has been causing me pain and took out the tooth that wasn't causing ANY ISSUES... told me I need to pay almost $800 for this ONE extraction. I asked to be referred to another doctor to take out the bottom tooth or if she could take it out and she told me I need to go back to my dentist for this referral. She also said " You need to be nice to the doctors or they won't take out the tooth for you." She then took it even further and blamed me for not getting my wisdom teeth, extracted earlier/ in my teens - stating that my bones are too hard and it's too difficult for her to take out my impacted tooth. Anybody with common sense knows that as we age, our teeth grow and bone hardens. As a former medical sales rep, I saw right through her tactics and sending patients to get another 3-D x-ray is all a referral network for her and the x-ray business to make more $$$. I got referred here by my dentist, who I've been going to since I was little. I originally wanted to get braces or Invisalign, but she told me I needed to get my wisdom teeth checked first since they needed to be removed. To start off, I felt judged the moment the doctor walked in. She was talking so fast that I couldn't even ask any questions before she was already moving on. I paid $75 because my insurance covered most of the consultation, and the whole interaction with the doctor lasted maybe five minutes. I honestly felt judged for not getting my wisdom teeth removed when I was 15. If only she knew that not everyone can afford to get their wisdom teeth removed at that age. That's the whole reason why I was finally there now. After those five minutes, she told me to talk to the staff at the front desk. The young man there told me I had to pay $440 out of pocket for a 3D scan because the doctor was "picky" and preferred that specific imaging place before she would move forward. Then he told me that after paying the $440 for the scan, I would have to come back for another consultation and pay another $36 just for her to go over the results. The whole experience honestly felt like they cared more about getting me to pay for multiple appointments and extra fees than actually helping me. I left feeling judged, rushed, and unheard. After reading the reviews afterward, I realized other people had similar experiences, which made me feel even worse about how everything was handled. I'll never come back here again. I could care less how experienced the doctor is if patients are made to feel judged the moment they walk in. I held off on writing this review for a while, but after having such a positive experience with another oral surgeon for the same procedure, I finally felt compelled to share my experience. I was referred here by my dentist for a wisdom tooth consultation about a year ago. I had never had any major dental issues, surgeries, or even braces/retainers, so I was understandably nervous and had many questions going into this appointment. The staff were kind, but unfortunately, my experience with Dr.Miyatake herself was incredibly demeaning. After my panoramic X-ray, she came into the room, barely sat down, and proceeded to explain her findings at such a rapid pace that it was difficult to follow. Her explanation also felt contradictory. She initially said she was primarily concerned about two teeth, but somehow ended by recommending that all four be removed. When I started asking questions, I felt that my anxiety and concerns were immediately dismissed. She was condescending, scoffed at my questions, and at one point even shamed me for not having my wisdom teeth removed as a teenager. For context, I had never had any problems with my wisdom teeth before this, so I had no reason to believe I needed to have them removed sooner. What bothered me most was how little effort was made to actually educate me about the procedure or recovery. Instead, I was immediately asked, "So when are you free for surgery?" When I explained that I needed time to think about it and figure out whether I could take time off work, she pressured and guilted me for not immediately agreeing. She even told me that I was "welcome to seek a second opinion" if I was "so unsure." I left feeling angry and incredibly uncomfortable. I agreed I needed the surgery, but I had zero confidence in having her perform it, especially with IV sedation. I ultimately sought a second opinion and had the procedure done by another oral surgeon in Daly City whose communication, patience, and bedside manner were the complete opposite of what I experienced here. I have no doubt that Dr.Miyatake is knowledgeable in her practice. My issue is entirely with her bedside manner and the way she treats patients trying to make an informed decision about their care. Patients should never feel belittled or pressured for asking questions or needing time to think. I received services from Dr. Miyatake's office in November 2025, and I had a very positive experience. The clinic is neat and peaceful, staffed by professional and respectful individuals. Before my initial consultation appointment, I informed the staff that my general dentist had not taken a "standing up" panoramic dental x-ray. Naturally, on the day of the consultation appointment, they took a panoramic x-ray, which was quick and simple. I then met Dr. Miyatake after the x-ray was taken. I was initially hesitant to receive her services due to online reviews mentioning a lack of "bedside manner." However, I quickly realized her style is simply efficient and focused--she doesn't waste time on small talk and gets down to business, which I appreciate. She greeted me and immediately reviewed my x-ray and asked relevant medical questions. During the review. she determined a 3D dental scan was unnecessary but offered it as an option. Dr. Miyatake also pointed out that one tooth growing weirdly, leading her to recommend IV sedation for the surgery. I asked about using local anesthesia + being awake due to personal reasons against sedation. Dr. Miyatake said we could do that but I was warned I would experience more pain because of the trickier tooth. Of course, I decided to trust her professional recommendation for IV sedation! Then, Dr. Miyatake clearly outlined the procedure for the day of surgery: EKG, blood pressure cuff, finger pulse monitor, IV placement, and an approximately one-hour nap under sedation. I had my wisdom teeth extraction on December 2025. On the day of surgery, I was quite nervous, but the staff was accommodating. I was allowed to keep my tiny Jellycat with me for comfort. Dr. Miyatake and her staff ensured I was comfortable and warm by placing soft, heavy blankets on me. I closed my eyes, took deep breaths, and before I knew it, the surgery went smoothly! Post-surgery, I was provided with a comprehensive take-home kit: two gel packs, a face/head wrap, and a manual toothbrush (super thankful for the goodies!) It's been about 7 months since the extraction of my molar and bone graft. Dr. Miyatake looked at the bone graft and said that it healed really well and proceeded to do the dental implant. She numbed the area. Then, she worked very expeditiously to insert the implant in the appropriate location, size, and depth. She confirmed the placement by taking an x-ray. She completed this procedure in less than an hour. Later that afternoon, Dr. Miyatake called me to ask how I was doing. I thanked her for her exceptional work and told her that I was feeling well and had no pain, bleeding, or swelling. I am truly thankful for her exceptional skill and care. It will take another approximate 6 months for the implant to fully heal before getting my new tooth. ****HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE****** My experience with the office staff wasn't terrible but had me scratching my head in confusion. I should get hired to do their job. So this is what happened... On June 9, 2024 I have scheduled an appointment for a consultation on July 9,2024. On that same day I emailed them the referral and insurance card. You would think everything would have been done way in advance prior to my appointment. Nope that didn't happen. On July 8, 2024 I get a call from a female staff member stating they have not received my xray from my dentist and because they could not get a hold of anyone they've asked me to follow up. So I did and they received it ok whatever. I also was informed because my insurance was Delta Virginia they could not get information because they only had the faxed number and she refused to take down the phone number. Because delta is based in Virginia and not in California and only patients can call to see what my insurance covers. For the consultation I was going to pay $179 but during the conversation somehow I was asked and given dental codes to see what covers. I've never in my life had the experience doing the office staffs job in a hospital or dental office. I don't know if what they said was true but to me just seems they were being lazy. On the day of the office visit the staff was kind but they all seemed very young. My experience with Miyatake... Upon reading other people's who rated her 1x star I've noticed I've experienced what they have. They felt "rushed", "rude", "I'll try", "repeated what should of been done when they were 15 years old" I was asked by Miyatake questions that I have already filled out with the form the office staff asked me to fill out. - Kept insisting my dentist should have explained what was going to happen in Her office over and over. - I should talk to my dentist for an implant. - seemed annoyed that I was asking questions of what I should be talking with my dentist. Again this office is wanting me to do their job. - She doesn't listen to a word I've told her. I've tried to inform her of my visit with my dentist but she continues to cut me off then repeatedly asked me questions I could not answer and only my dentist could. To me it's as if she did not read the referral paper. - The X-ray copy she had was a print out from an email and not an X-ray film. She wanted me to do a 3D X-ray. - She was all over the place and didn't focus on the reason why I came in. She kept informing me there's more work but because she was giving so much information I felt overwhelmed. - She said you look scared. You think?!? You're rushing the whole conversation and not reassuring what her as the professional what's the best thing to do. Finally left the room so she could call my dentist but could not get a hold of him. I felt the whole conversation was a debate. At the end of the conversation I was totally burnt out and shut down. I felt my blood pressure go up, heart palpitations. Trying not to scream or cuss her out. I'm sure the male staff saw I was kind of out of it. I'm sure the staff heard us go back and forth as well. My 23years old daughter had four wisdom teeth to be removed. Her dentist recommended Dr. M for that so we went. I should've read yelp reviews before I went to see her. All the negative reviews are true. I could handle her cold bedside manner and all but what wronged me was that she didn't explain things clearly and just pushed patients to cough up more $$$. Long story; My daughter had to get pan oral X ray even before we saw her for $75 cause Delta dental only covers once per two year or something. Then She saw the print out X-ray on the paper and said we need 3D x-Ray which was out of pocket and they gave us estimate about $575 for wisdom teeth; was told that the price might go up depends on the complexity of surgery after reviewing the 3D xray. We had to go to other clinic couple of blocks away for that and were charged over $400. While my daughter getting 3D x ray, I read all yep reviews and had bad feeling about this. I called my neighbor friends and they all told me not to go with her and recommended a oral surgeon in Daly city who has 4.9 star review at yelp. I called the Daly city oral surgeon and was told that they have 3D machine in the office and charge only $300. Also, the fee for wisdom teeth extraction was way lower than Dr. M even for highest complexity level. After discussing with my daughter, we decided to stay with Dr. M as both my daughter and I were busy daily and didn't want hassle to see another doctor in Daly city, kind of far from us. One week later the Dr. M's office called us and said that we can proceed with surgery with same fee as mentioned. I said great and scheduled the surgery. One our later, they called us again and they have to charge us $250 more because the surgery would take one hour and 15mints and we need to pay for extra 15mint anesthesia. I do anesthesia at a major hospital for living so I ask them what do they use for anesthesia. They told me they use IV Propofol. I said my daughter has no anxiety for surgery and she doesn't need propofol for heavy sedation which has more possible complications. She just needs good local anesthesia with some pain meds. THEN, they changed all of sudden said that the surgery will be over one hour and Delta dental won't cover surgery over one hour. Why changing the reason why they have to charge me more??? i mean, the fact that they making us to do pan x ray then 3D x ray right after, also, not even giving patients option for regarding anesthesia, pushing heavy sedation with propofol for every patients even when one does not need propofol which can cause emergent airway issues without proper monitoring and airway equipment. Changing reasons for more charging when get questioned about it . All makes me think that Dr.M cares more about getting $$$ out of you than anything else. I am sure Dr. M is a good surgeon with lots of experience but with really good block skill and some sedatives and pain meds, not everyone needs Propofol heavy sedation but I guess that is the way a surgeon gets more $$$ from the insurance or medicare. Trust is a big thing for me when I choose doctors for me and my family. Clearly, trusting her practice would be hard for me so BYE, never wants to see you again. When into my wisdom teeth removal and took all four wisdom teeth out under Dr. Linda Miyatake's care Below is the rundown: - Consultation: Her team will do a panoramic xray, and talk about the impact, pros and cons, how long she think surgery will take and how severe any of the teeth are. Two of my bottom teeth were impacted and I was starting to feel pain when I ate certain foods. - Day of Surgery: The big day arrives and I shared with Dr. that I was very nervous but she said that it will go by quick. I immediately fell asleep in 3 mins. After the hour of surgery, I woke up in my bed and was impressed that I stopped bleeding almost immediately. It was more of a combination of icing to de-swell the pain but there was no blood once I came home. By the third day I was eating soft noodles and ice cream macaroons! She does a post surgery appointment to check on how you're healing. - Front Desk Ladies: 5/5 for the ladies operating the whole office. They are lovely girls who do an incredible job answering all your questions. Like many others have said, this office is a well oiled machine, and they make sure that everything in place so they can focus on you and the surgery. - Parking: Our first time here, there was a hidden parking lot around the corner but it was hard to find. TLDR: Capable of tooth extraction but god forbid if you have questions or disagree with any element of your treatment plan. They said if I don't pay for the cost of my care plan as directed by the doctor, they will reschedule my appointment. I felt rushed, and bullied into compliance. ----------------------------------------------- Long version: I was referred to Dr. Miyatake by my dentist for a tooth extraction and implant. I had plan to do an extraction and bone graft the same day. Before my visit, I filled out all the online forms as well as sent them my full mouth x-ray (2 months old), the tooth to be extracted x-ray (2 days old), and my dental and medical insurance. I don't know why they needed my medical insurance but I just sent it as they requested. The day of my visit, they took a panorama x-ray of my whole mouth and I had a consultation with Dr. Miyatake. Because of my bone loss, I was not able to do the bone graft, only the extraction. The consultation and the pre-op pano was fully covered by my insurance. Now I'm talking to the office staff about my treatment plan. My plan of care was tooth extraction with general anesthesia, which is 80% covered by my insurance. She also wanted to do a full panorama x-ray of my mouth post-op, which was not covered (my insurance only covers 1 pano per 5 years.) Me: Can I just get a regular x-ray of that area (where the tooth was) instead? Office staff: No, we need to see the whole thing. Me: Why do you need to see the whole thing? Office staff to another office staff: Just write that she declined treatment. Me: Why can't I get a regular x-ray? Office staff: We'll have to ask (then went to talk to the doctor) Office staff: Ok, you can have the regular x-ray, but you'll have to pay for it. Me: Is it covered by my insurance? Can you please check for me? (I wrote down next to that line "please check insurance") Office staff: You can't write on our paper. Now I have to print another one. (then they printed another one) Me: Ok, can you please just check later. (I'm handling them my credit card to pay for ~$300 copay. My Insurance estimated payment is ~$1000) As the office staff is printing my receipt, another came and said they have to reschedule my appointment. I've only been talking to them for 5 minutes about my care plan. Me: Why do I have to reschedule? Dr. Miyatake popped out of her office and said: We only scheduled a limited time for you. We will have to reschedule you because insurance verification takes a long time. Me: I already paid for the whole thing: Dr. Miyatake continued to talk about how they are good at refunding if the insurance paid, and that they are not responsible for billing and I'm responsible. Other offices make the patient pay in full upfront etc... She puts me under general anesthesia as she goes on about this. Impression: Dr Miyatake is fast-talking, capable and will get the job done. The first appointment I had with her I felt rushed and she repeated a couple times how I should have gotten my wisdom teeth removed when I was 15. The second time I went with my 3D X-rays as she requested and the office admin had lost my dental chart. Once she came into the room she said she would not be able to do my surgery, but then went on to say she could try. Then she said her patients have a 35% chance of being numb, but then reduced it to 10% chance. A very drastic change of percentage change of becoming numb. She then suggested that it would probably be a good idea to let one of my wisdom tooth to become infected so she can extract it. She once again continued to repeat I should have don't the procedure done when I was 15, various times. At the end she said she would consider doing my surgery but wanted me to go somewhere else for another opinion and that she was not going to charge me for the consultation and rushed me out by saying I can go. However I received an invoice from my insurance that she did charge me for a consultation even though she said she wouldn't and did not feel comfortable doing my surgery. She did not seem confident with her work and I am very glad that I did not go with her to do my surgery. I went with another oral surgeon who was kind and patient. I do not suggest for you to come here if you have a impact wisdom or another complicated case. I just give her credit for being honest that she didnt feel comfortable doing my surgery. read more

I had all four wisdom teeth removed in December. After the initial healing process was over, I developed TMJ (jaw joint) dysfunction that has persisted and gotten worse. It's been seven months and my jaw is, according to a specialist, going to be like this permanently. It clicks incessantly and regularly locks. I never had any jaw issues prior to surgery. They were late to bring me into the operating room because the surgery before me ran overtime. So frustrated with my experience here. At first visit she tells me she can remove both wisdom teeth in one surgery for ~$600 after insurance but she won't do anything until I get a 3D x-ray that costs $415 which insurance doesn't cover. When I go back in after the x-ray she tells me she doesn't want to do it and that I should go somewhere else but changes her mind in the same sentence to tell me she can try. But, she needs to do another estimate. She comes back in to say it would be 2 separate surgeries, each at ~$1900 after insurance, with the potential for an additional surgery on each side ($1000 each extra) if she ran into complications. When I questioned it she said "this is how it works". Don't waste your time or money. And please, dentists, don't refer people to her for this miserable experience. read more

I recently had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr.Miyatake after my regular dentist referred me to her office. The surgery and healing process went smoothly. I tend to not do well with surgery, but was very surprised how well it went. When I woke up from the surgery I felt no pain and wasn't even loopy. Dr.Miyatake is a very talented doctor and knows what she is doing. The reason that I am giving four stars instead of five is because the doctor and her office staff lack general bedside manner. No one talked to me before the surgery started. And no one really took care of me after. They handed me off to my mom and said I was done. You would think before a surgery the doctor would come greet you and get you mentally ready at the very least. They know what they are doing here, but just be prepared for the staff to not be very friendly, and for the doctor to have no bed side manners. If you are an anxious patient, I recommend going somewhere else. read more

I am very skeptical of doctors in general. Dr. Miyatake was recommended to me by a coworker from my new dentist. Of course all American doctors recommend you pull your wisdom tooth even if it's not necessarily hurting since it would be better for you in the future. I honestly wish I had done this when I was in my teens, so I wouldn't be paying for it. My biggest reluctant is how much everything costs even with insurance. I'm not going to lie --it was painful to drop ~$700 for two wisdom tooth extractions even with Delta insurance, but I felt highly pressured to get it over with. Despite that, I have to give it up to Dr. Miyatake for their great service --accommodating to my schedule and efficient in the work. A few minutes after checking in, they brought me to a room, made sure I was comfortable, provided a blanket, and injected the sedation. I remember they told me I wouldn't fall asleep right away, but the next thing I remember was waking up and I was done. Apparently, my procedure took less than half an hour too. The next few hours were fuzzy until I was home. Maybe I was lucky, but I felt pretty normal a day after my surgery already. I bled for about 2 days and never swell up either. A week later, I had my follow-up, which was very quick as well. They showed me how to clean my wisdom tooth area with a syringe and made sure my healing process was good. Dr Miyatake and her team were great. I came in with a swollen cheek, needing an emergency root canal and wisdom teeth extractions. Got half my root canal done by another dentist, then was recommended to Dr Miyatake for the extractions. I have a lot of anxiety surrounding dentists and normally get prescribed Valium for my visits. Dr Miyatake and her team were very patient and open about everything that was going to happen. I was always informed of everything and everything ran very smoothly. My appointment lasted no longer than an hour. They sedate you so you're asleep for the entire procedure. I barely remember any of the interactions afterwards, but they wheel you to your car afterwards and communicated with my partner on everything from where to park, and what my needs will be afterwards. I went home and slept a few hours, and my gums healed nicely. I would highly recommend them if you're in need of an extraction. read more

Another terrible dental experience. Linda doesn't listen, pushes her agenda, doesn't care about you, is money hungry. Feels more like negotiating with a mechanic than going to the dentist. All of the phone people are uninformed (ie. dumb as shit). I wouldn't recommend this terrible DDS to my enemies. read more

I went in today to get a consultation for my wisdom teeth. I already knew I had to get them out and I had sent the doctor my x-rays in advance. The moment I met Dr. Miyatake, she was cold, rude and unfriendly. I think she smiled once during our entire conversation. She began to lecture me about how big my wisdom teeth are and how I should have gotten them out when I was 15 - I get that yes, I could have gotten them when I was 15, but I didn't and now here we are. She showed me some pictures of surgeries she's done on 15 year olds, and 18 years old and explained how much a simpler of a surgery it is. AGAIN, thanks, we can't turn time here, let's focus on the problem at hand. Also, I don't know why she reprimanded me - I literally was just following the advice of my dentist who told me to wait to take them out. I'm no expert here as much as Dr. Miyatake wished that my 15 year old self was. Anyway, she then said that I needed to get another x-ray, which I was fine with, but then she said if the x-ray came back more complicated than she would like, she would NOT perform the surgery. Listen lady, I would NOT want you to perform the surgery even if it was the easiest surgery in the world. I called a different practice, one that my dentist recommended and the same day, saw Dr. Reddy in Redwood City, who was much warmer and friendlier. The only reason I went to Dr. Miyatake first was because she took my insurance (Guardian). Dr. Reddy does not, but I'd rather pay everything out of pocket than to deal with someone like Dr. Miyatake. I ended up getting the 3D x-rays done at Dr. Reddy's office (btw, Dr. Miyatake does not have this type of x-ray in her office), and the same day, he told me that the procedure would not be very complicated and would be able to take both of my wisdoms out. I really would not trust the reviews on yelp. Unless you have wisdoms that are not impacted and you can just pluck out, do not go here. read more
