Very pleasant experience, even with a car wash debacle involving 2 different receipts and having the 2nd and last reprinted receipt (inside) with the fresh code on it. I called right from the carwash entry and a guy who reminded me of the film store owner on that 70's show came out within seconds. Super cool highly intelligent guy. Very helpful. Very. It was actually our idea to look at the secondly printed receipt and see if it had a different code. Low and behold there we were ready to get the buggy washed. Fun time, required patience and understanding, was a learning experience for everyone involved. Slight diesel fuel smell by one pump most likely where frequent drips occur. Spiders on the gas pump islands. Nothing a couple of quick smashes didn't fix. Followed by a quick washing off of the spider guts. Spiders are to be expected after dark so no biggie. Awesome no touch dual car wash, right side computerized with lights, left side old school key pad, I believe with no multicolor flashing light. Not gonna lie, I thought we were getting pulled over for a second as we went through the right side! Lol. We had two receipts, one from the pump and a second reprint. The only working code was on the last printed receipt for that transaction. We were trying to enter the code from the first receipt from the gas pump. The cool guy also said that sometimes when you rip the receipt off at the pump the code doesn't end up on it because said correct code is at the very end of the paper. I did forget to wash the window with the squeegee to notice if the wash fluid was full/clean etc. Legit station!

They offer some of the best priced gas that I see on my whole trip. The pumps are modern, and for some reason that matters to me. I get pissed when I pull into a station and it's got old fashioned pumps with no place to put a credit card. And lifting up the handle after you put the nozzle in your car is old news too. This place has the right things going for them. The inside of the store has a variety of hot food, hot drinks, and lots of other things in between. I was quite skeptical getting chicken fingers from a gas station but seeing as how I was starving and they were only $2.69 I decided to go out on a limb and try them. They did not disappoint. Plus the NICEST old man owner working the store!…read more Yes, you will pay more for gas here and most likely the produce, but you will leave with a smile on your face and definitely be glad you stopped in to meet this one of a kind (or maybe more like the only one left) small gas/grocery store owner! Think Sam Druker from the General Store in Green Acres, and I kid you not... the theme music from the Beverly Hillbillies was playing in the store! (You young Yelpers... look it up!). I stopped here to get a few gallons because I wasn't sure how far it would be until the next gas station. It literally looks like one of those roadside stands that sells local product, but it had a pump, so I stoped in. The pump said no credit, cash only and you had to pay ahead of time. I went in and said I'll take $10, and handed him a $20. The pumps are old time, so I wasn't used to numbers actually spinning as I pumped. Of course, I went over $10, so I just went for $20. I eventually ended on $20.10. Went back in to tell him I went over the $10, and he said "by how much, we are on the honor system here"! I paid him 10 cents! Before we left, he gave me a Yooper Jigsaw Puzzle" which was a small bag of saw dust. Lol And he gave my wife a small bag that contained a marble (in case you lose your marbles), and candy kiss (to remind you that someone loves you), a penny (so you will never be broke), an eraser (to make your mistakes disappear), a string (to help hold things together) and a rubber band (to stretch yourself to your limits). This Shell convenience store/station sits right on a prime scenic lot on Highway 42 overlooking the…read morebay.  I couldn't believe that they had the same $3.899/gal price for regular 87 octane that matched the cheapest price anywhere in Door County at this time.  I've seen Shell prices at a lot of places over the years in both the US and overseas, and they're ALWAYS one of the highest priced brands, ha.  I had to fill up here just for grins, even though I really didn't need to.  It was an old style pump too, with no card reader, no digital screens, and I was flabbergasted and paralyzed for a moment!  I thought, well, I guess have to go in and give them my credit card for a prepayment.   But nope, Andrea the clerk inside, just says fill it up and come back and tell me how much it was.  Ha, a total old school honor system here, and a nostalgic trip to the past.  I'll go with 4 stars.  Now if they had an attendant come out and check my oil dipstick and clean the windshield and pump the gas, I'd go with 5 stars 4sure! ps - Inside the building, they have a standard, small convenience store with pre-packaged goods, i.e., no hot food.
