We prefer to shop for plants from locally owned nurseries. Last year we bought 2 loropetalum plants for the front of our house for $90. The same plants were available at Lowes for $70, where we purchased 2 more. All four plants died over the winter. Lowes gave us a full refund. Linda's gave us NOTHING. Other garden centers in the area offer some credit towards replacement plants, but not this place. I will never shop here again. read more

I have been a customer of Linda's for about 8 years. I buy my coleus there every year. I buy them early and about 4" high in a small growing pot. Time, water, occasional fertilizer and sunlight and they really take off. Check out the pictures. read more

I'm surprised by the low ratings. The plants were beautiful with a large assortment at prices I think are decent. My 8 annuals were a modest $22. They have fresh-picked persimmons (?) and blueberries too, and the most gorgeous hydrangeas I have ever seen offered for sale. We got full pots of mums for my daughter's wedding last October and the plants were extraordinary: full, long-lasting and vibrant, at a very good price. I recommend this business. read more

I have been a customer at Linda's for a couple years. I bought a bunch of perennials over the last couple weeks. One of the plants I purchased a pine hydrangea that had brown spots on the leaves when I bought it, but the sales person assured me it was nothing to worry about . After a week the brown spots started spreading. I tried a fungicide but it did not work. I bought a leaf and photographs of my plant back to Linda's ask for advice what to do. Three people that were there could not help me. They said they have to have someone call me to tell me what to do. But that I have to be patient. It was explained to me that One of the people is out with a shoulder injury the other one just started their vacation and then I asked about the owner and they said he has a lot on his plate right now and won't be back for a month and I just need to be patient. The last person that spoke to me was very condescending. I assure you I was polite the whole time just trying to get Help to save my plant. I walked over to the spot in the nursery where I originally picked the plant up , and what do you know their plants were doing the same thing as mine. they had a couple spots a couple weeks ago but now it had spread just like it did on my plant. I asked if I could exchange it and was told NO! And wait for somebody to call me. If Linda's is nursery can not keep the brown spots from spreading on their own plants. How can I. I am waiting for a phone call now? Amazing that the 3 people that work there Couldn't help me. Let's see if they call me and help me. I will keep u all posted to outcome . Very helpful and an amazing selection. They helped me get just the right plants for my front flower garden.

This place has the absolute worst customer service of any place I have ever shopped before. I purchased a $200 tree and had them load it into my car. The man came up and didn't say a word to me. He was SO ROUGH with the tree i decided to run to the side door to guide it in and do damage control. When we got home (before unloading) the tree we noticed the top branch (among others) had broken off from his forceful and careless loading. I understand mistakes happen, so I called to inform them. The owner accused me of dropping the tree and breaking the top when I got home. Mind you, the top was broken inside of the car. He refused to work with me. They took no accountability for their actions and decided to place the blame onto me with a made up hypothetical story he came up with in his head. In addition, he proceeded to threaten my by telling me to stay out of Hendersonville altogether. Truly the worst experience i have EVER had with a "business." read more

I've been a Linda's customer for 2 seasons now. All plants I purchased last year made it through the winter. They have a vast selection of plants--particularly rhododendron, azaleas, Japanese maple and other plants that do well here in NC. They've been very helpful and there seem to be plenty of staff around to give you advice or help you carry your plants to the car. Prices are OK. The drive out to Linda's is pretty--through apple country. I always enjoy a trip there. read more

We were mistreated VERY badly this past weekend. A tall slender woman with brown pinned-up hair wearing a bicycle shirt who worked there disregarded us when asked for help--passing us over for another lady. She mouthed something under her breath and continued to pretend to help this lady who was clearly finished and at the register. This worker had a scowl on her face--knowing she upset us she kept walking back and forth like she was doing something--she wouldn't even win an Emmy award for her acting ability as she stowed away in the warehouse and peeped out like a child when I was at the register. We put back our items--quietly telling the cashier the story to relay to the owner. It doesn't matter how beautiful a place might be if the attitudes are off it makes everything ugly. Upon entry, we were even met with a middle-aged male worker with brown hair and a hat that gave us an evil look. As if to--go away you are not welcome. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE??? You could literally feel the negative energy. The sad part is the person I brought came a long distance at my recommendation. They had prospective gardeners and landscapers they were looking to bring. It was sad to witness someone going from happy and smiling--recalling memories of their youth with their grandmother who loved flowers--to feeling completely rejected and targeted. Linda's Plants should be ashamed of themselves for hiring such terrible employees as the two mentioned. Employees need to be better trained with the attitude. The rude, lying, scowling woman had every opportunity to do the right thing and put us in the right direction with another employee or say she would be with us in a moment. This is retail 101. It was an overt rejection, and if she doesn't pay the price by being reprimanded at this job like she should--she will one day here on Earth or somewhere else. The days are closing where you can treat people poorly for just any reason. Don't own a business or work in retail if you are going to pick and choose who your customers are. And per another review--WE ARE native to Western NC--if that nonsensical attribute matters to business owners of the area so much. Amongst flowers and plants you are supposed to find beauty no matter who you are and what background you have--but this occurrence was a reminder that there is always a snake hiding in the garden ready to strike. Fix this. Immediately. I cannot recommend people go here AT ALL when one doesn't know how they are going to be treated from one time to the next. BEWARE. You've been warned. read more

After visiting several local nurseries, I decided to stop at Linda's. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the nursery and the variety of plants. I had a large area to fill with landscaping, and I decided on ornamental grasses. This was a first for me. I know my flowers well, but never grasses. The two types I purchased were both labeled perennial. I spent close to $300 on over 15 pots and planted them at home, loving the results. However, the issues came when Winter killed them all. The following Spring, I contacted Linda's, and was told to stop in so they could help me out. They admitted that the red grasses were marked incorrectly. However, the best they could do on making up for it was to discount a couple of green (ugly, weed-looking) grasses. I left with 3 pots, spending another $30. Ridiculous. Being a business owner myself, I understand when I'm in the wrong I have to make good with the customer. Linda's apparently does NOT grasp that. Will never recommend this business. They are deceitful. read more
