We paid the balance due one week before the required date, arrived on time to set up and left everything clean and neat before the allotted clean up time. However, there was such an air of unfriendliness, one of the owners even abruptly shut off the music as our rented time was ending while guests were standing there looking at her in amazement. When do you leave an event you paid for, vacated on time, things were left neat and clean and no one bothers to greet you and thank you for your patronage. It was the worst and strangest experience ever had by me and the others involved in the baby shower.

The 4-million square foot BAT complex was used as a supply base and military depot during both World Wars. During WWII, it became the country's largest military supply base. Soldiers were deployed from here -- Elvis Presley being the most famous. BAT was decommissioned in 1964. Much of the original architecture remains today. A variety of tenants lease the space. I spent a long time in Building B's impressively majestic main atrium, soaking in the stunningly silent and solemn atmosphere. It was late in the day, and overcast. I was one of the only ones there. It felt almost reverent, as if I was in an industrial cathedral. Very cool to also see the old track where freight trains use to pull in and unload their cargo. Afterwards, it was a short walk around back to catch the NYC ferry. I'd love to return one day and explore more of this remarkable place.

I've been to this convention center multiple times and every time it's always chaos. The parking…read morelot is always packed and people drive way too fast thru it. This trip was for the gem and mineral expo and it was decently packed for a Saturday. A lot of the vendors were either reasonably priced or extremely overpriced. The only downside is they are cash only unless you pre purchased your tickets online ahead of time. I will say make sure you use a restroom prior to arriving. I unfortunately had to use theirs and it was probably one of the most disgusting women's restrooms I've ever been in. The toilet seats were scratched up and covered in marks I don't know how it's possible. I didn't touch anything I did not need to but there was urine all over most of the stalls. Just poorly kept and maintained.

Vendors galore - mostly chocolate of course, but also cheese, wine, oils, spices, honey, cigars, etc. ones! Our favorites were luscious German chocolate, Dubai chocolate, "Nut Punch" natural peanut bites, soft pretzels, and cannolis (for me - just the filling). Cast from one of my all time favorite movies, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY" were on hand for autographs and photo opps. So cool! So were "Potsie" and "Ralph Mouth" from 'Happy Days.' Lastly, was 'The Wonder Years' mom, who I loved in that role! We sat in on her Q&A. I enjoyed stuffed cabbage for lunch. Baked Empanadas, Arancini, sandwiches and cool candied fruit on sticks were available too. Pretty good pricing too. I got a Chocolate Expo baseball cap and a bib for my future great niece on the way out. It was a really funny and yummy day :)

This is the main convention center in New York City. I have been here several times for New York…read moreComic Con and New York Marathon events. It is very large center with many rooms. If anyone else has been here for Comic Con you know how spread out it is and how many people can fit here. It is much easier to get to now with the seven train connecting to midtown. Before you had to get off at the one train and walk all the way which was a pain. It is connected to the building next door which has five floors of available space. All the rooms were booked with meetings and performances. I love the large space to walk around and enjoy the conventions. The only downside is the food prices here. It costs around $20 for a sandwich and $5 for a coffee. It is unfortunate but you have to pay the high prices in order to eat. Otherwise you have to go out and walk around to find a nearby restaurant which defeats the purpose to begin at the convention.

Chill…read moreis a very professional venue and upfront with each client's needs, as all clients request are valued, but we are not inclined to approved all events, if the event does not meet the venue requirements. And in this case this is exactly what happened, the client was not honest in stating what type of event they wanted to keep at Chill. It's the clients's responsibility to read their contract before signing and making the necessary downpayment. The client was advised upfront of what is needed if they were to serve alcohol at the venue, but they never advised this was a paid public event with a cash bar. Chill cannot assume what type of event the client is hosting, hence the reason a contract is issued and meetings are planned in advance to go over the event in detail. The client received the proposal for the event on June 19th, 2019, on the day of the first site visit. The client then reached back out to schedule another site visit on July 15th, 2019 because they they loved the venue and wanted to proceed with booking the event date for August 25th, 2019, the client then signed the contract and asked to make a smaller deposit of $200 to secure the event date, yet still not disclosing this was a paid event they were planning to host at Chill. The client listed the event as a family party. Chill is not a public hall, its a private hall for private and social events, therefore Chill do not allow ticket sales for parties, nor sale of alcohol at the venue. On July 23rd, the client was scheduled for the final planning meeting to which all venue rules and and accommodations are discussed, and it was during this meeting on July 23rd the client advised that they intended to sell alcohol at the venue, to which she was informed no alcohol sales were allowed, the client then stated they cannot charged their attendees as an all-inclusive for the event, and will need to cancel the event. The client was then asked if you're having a family party why there are alcoholic sales, they stated its a birthday party, while trying to wriggle their way out of the proper explanation. The client called the police and claimed we were holding their $200 hostage and then proceed to explain to the police why they needed their money back, to which they were advised by the law enforcement that what they were trying to do at the event was against the ABC rules to try and sell alcohol at a private event. And as explained to the client at the meeting all deposits are final and non refundable, and the client was also advised that we will inform upper management and get back to her about her refund. On July 25th the client was advised that the refund was approved and a check will be issued within the next 7 - 10 business days. The client received their refund without delays. But the client decided to tarnish a business for which they were not clear on their intentions for their event. Not all reviews are truthful, just as this review from Astasia G, on July 25th about Chill. Chill always provides excellent customer services to its clients and always go above and beyond to make the event planning process as simple and as stress free as possible for all clients.

The space is massive and perfect for any large convention! Bathrooms are clearly visible and well placed.
