I just became a member as I appreciate the customer service and that they don't charge hourly as many other ranges. Those are fancier but nothing better than exercising your 2nd amendment right outdoors. So far had tried the pistol and 25yd range to zero in my Rueger PCC and practice with my daily carry Cz 75 c.

Took my son here in August for his 10th birthday, it was great. Check in was easy and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We got some good advice from the RSO. The pistol range has one lane for wheelchair, since it was open, it was perfect for my son. If it wasn't so hot, we would have stayed longer. With that said, -1 star for the lack of a good canopy over the benches and behind the line. We will be back when it starts to cool down. Kudos to the team at Linden Gun Range for making our visit enjoyable and safe.

Living in Stockton I found LGR a very quick and easy drive. Other outdoor ranges from Stockton are either a conciderable drive or out in the middle of nowhere. Which doesn't make them awful but location is always important! On Superbowl Sunday I drove out to the range in Linden to get some range time in. The local surrounding indoor ranges are great for pistols but really no fun or challenging for rifles. When I arrived I went in to sign in I was greeted by a very sweet woman who answered all my questions. She was pleasant, courteous & professional. Once at the range table I was greeted by the RSO who gave me the ranges basic rules and guidelines. After the range going cold I noticed my rounds were going low & to the right. I asked the RSO for some help & he was more than happy to help me with my windage & help me adjust my front sight. After his help I was hitting nothing but center mass! I have found my go to outdoor range and encourage others to check this place out! Now I gotta save up for a membership! Thanks LGR, I will definitely be back!

Intersting stages at Linden Competitive Shooting Club

This is for the LCSC arm (Linden Competitive Shooting Club) of the San Joaquin Rifle & Pistol Range. LCSC offers USPSA matches every 2nd Sunday of the month. This is an excellent option for us action shooters, as Twin Sisters, Chabot, and Diablo (for the time being) are closed. They have wide bays where long stages can be built. LCSC is different where the match director will walk the stages with every shooter. Different from the rest of the clubs, but definitely for the sake of safety. I also like that they post stage in FB before hand and display the top dogs after each match. The staff are friendly and the place is well maintained. I wish they would build permanent awnings for the action sports. So action shooters we have another option for USPSA shooting on the 2nd Sunday of the month, see you there!

This place is awesome! I been to quite a few ranges over the years and have to say this place is one of the best around in San Joaquin County. All the staff are friendly and professional from the front office to the Range Safety Officers (RSO). If you know what you are doing and have good firearms safety practices, you will do well here and have an very enjoyable experience. Even if you are new to the shooting scene, the staff is patient and informative. I have been to a few private classes and courses here when it has been closed to the public, and have had tons more of fun here!! If you ever get a chance to get into a specialty course or competition shooting match, you will come to appreciate this venue on a whole other level. For the average shooter and casual hobbyist out there, this place is definitely good to go! I like to warm up on the 50 yard line with my long gun then go to the 100 yard line for more of a challenge. If your feeling like your Chris Kyle, you can shoot on the 200 yard line if you qualify with the range staff first. The pistol range can get real busy on weekends especially in the late morning heading into noon. Pack a lunch in a cooler and save some time and money. I've been out there sometimes from opening to closing time and wondered where did the time go. There's no time limit on this range which makes it so awesome. Bring plenty of ammo, targets, snacks, staples and friends for a good time! If you are all about that pew pew pew life...this is your place.

Went back to San Joaquin Gun Range today and have to report that the bathrooms were A-OK ! Now that this has been handled I can bring the wife next time. All is 5 Stars at this Range Good staff, they are respectful, helpful in a professional manner. Pack a lunch and spend the day shooting. FUN FUN!

An amazing family friendly place that places your safety first! I have shot at several of the remaining Bay Area gun ranges in the Bay Area and Linden Gun Range is second to none. Amazing facility where the owner and staff truly care about your safety. RSO' that treat you with respect and are willing to help out regardless of your skill level. A very nice change from the ranges where the RSO's act like and treat you as if you just fell off a turnip truck and talk down to you. I would recommend planning an all day trip so you can have fun and truly take in every thing LGR has to offer!

I love this place. It is one of the few places I am able to shoot my rifles and my handguns in the same visit. Outdoor ranges and yardage from 25 to 200yards. The range masters are very attentative and always willing to help out. I have only had positive experiences here. With a pricepoint of $17 for all day it is worth it. I bring my lunch. I will shoot pistols, eat lunch and then go to the rifle range. It is a great way to spend the day with the one you love. 2 thumbs up!

I was running a bit late and didn't get there until around 1:20PM, but the staff was still super professional and welcoming. The lady in the clubhouse was really helpful and got me checked in and out to the range quickly, no stress at all. Once on the range, the steel setup was great -- really well put together and a lot of fun. I was able to shoot as much as I wanted and at my own pace (safely), which was a huge plus. Since I showed up later in the day, the RSO was really cool and let me know that if I wanted to keep shooting past the 2 PM end time, I could. I didn't end up staying past that, but I really appreciated him offering and not rushing me at all. As a veteran, I really appreciate ranges that are safe, well run, and treat people right, and this club definitely does. Great staff, solid RSOs, and an overall great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

This was just a short drive from St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ripon, and one of the relatives was a member of this club, so he was able to rent it out for a discount, too! Having grown up and lived in a big city, I personally didn't have much contact with such manly clubs and lodges although I've seen a few in the wild throughout the years (I believed there once was an Elk's Lodge in Burbank). Did we have a sporting chance in this club to appease those who attended for some reconnecting, reflecting, refreshments, and remembrance!? EXPERIENCE People from the funeral - and even those who couldn't make it - slowly rolled in. While mostly everyone from the area appeared to know each other (as they should), myself, my dear friend, and her sister were on the outside looking in. No matter, we chatted amongst ourselves and the few we knew. The drinks and food was set out buffet-style, so it was like the buffet line on a cruise ship with just about the right demographic! I eased into my first plate https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=qVys8sEFYxK9onr_KxolgA and eventually made more until it was time to start cleaning up. The food was yummy, and there was plenty to take home to graze on. But before that, let's have one last beer https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=-4NX-lqhYwK8KvGth4sdPw and cheers to those who have passed. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the small-town feel that came along with the reception! SERVICE It was an all-hands-on-deck situation where family and friends chipped in to set up and tore down the facility in addition to providing the catered food. With a handful of us, we easily pulled out the chairs and tables (there was even a posted instructional picture https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=wCZRq7dQ-jSOPNUVMl0Lxw of how to reorganize them which I loved), arranged them as we saw fit, and did the necessary decorations the day before, and with even more able bodies after the reception, everything was put back into place and cleaned up even quicker. A friend of the family catered the food, and whatever was left over was packed up and divided so nothing went to waste. All was easy-peasy; a pat on our respective backs! PARKING (FREE) They had their own medium lot - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A country rustic building that had a large main hall, a small bar area, and a seemingly full-functional kitchen. The bare wooden beams and various stuffed animal heads https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=hKUNu5C_QIbv5ld7LxczGw mainly grabbed my attention. We placed out several long tables with coverings and chairs in the main hall https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=-aZn9-SGlw_A2FYqGcgiLA while we set-up small round tables https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=Jz_AeOx87lF8EvF_aw18lg with coverings and chairs in the bar area. Plenty of natural lighting came through the many windows that surrounded the place while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. I noticed only one TV (turned off) in the bar area, while the chatter of conversations filled the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=eymkqOT0dy2npSxHml8e5Q ATTIRE Because I was part of the funeral party, I was in all-black long-sleeve buttoned-up collar shirt, dress slacks, and dress shoes. However, the attire would wholly depend on the type of event being held here. OVERALL The Escalon Sportsman's Club fitted the occasion well, and I found it quite charming with its farmland feel. I felt like this was a snapshot into a long-gone era, but then again, it still may ring true here and my city living has skewed my perception of things. The rental rates seemed highly reasonable (i.e. Member Pricing: FR-SU $900.00 w/$800.00 deposit, MO-TH $500.00 w/$800.00 deposit, Funeral or Bar Only $350.00 w/$800.00 deposit; Non-Members only a couple hundred dollars more). I found very good value based on the service and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $0.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice (I did some post-research)... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

We are desperately in…read moreneed of ranges here in the Bay Area & in the last number of years many have closed (RIP: TargetMasters, Lake Chabot Range and Guns, Fishing & other stuff). That said, they have various ranges to shoot clay pigeons, on the lower area of the range. On the upper range they have a rifle / pistol range. They do offer memberships, which of course affords you cheaper range dues. I believe regular range dues are $30 and for military (active duty / reserve / guard) it is $15 The outdoor rifle range goes to 100 yards max, with mounts for your target every 25 yards out to 100. Each shooting bench has a spotting scope, where you can zoom into your target to track progress. They ONLY allow shooting from the seated position on this part of the range; no off hand or prone shooting allowed. The courses of fire are about 24mins; with clearly defined & painfully obvious cease-fire periods. NO rapid fire is allowed, so don't expect to come here & be able to mag dump. There is a pistol range area to the left of where I fire my rifles. They very much scrutinize safety, so LISTEN to the Range Safety Officers. Stand BEHIND the red line during cease fire periods. It's almost to the point of being FUDDs, but I cannot / will not throw shade at them for running a disciplined, safe, orderly range. The ONLY issue I ever had there - I showed a lady (white lady, in her late 30s - early 40s) my military ID. She says "The discount is for ACTIVE duty only". (That's incorrect the entire 20+yrs I was in the reserves, they always honored the military pricing). So I had to edify for her that I am *actively* serving in the reserves. 100% of businesses that I patronize that offer "military rates" don't stop and say "Wait, you're a reservist - that's not military enough" Service is service, full stop. Once I verified / explained things, then she honored the pricing in question. That was a one-time issue and it totally was NOT malicious, I think it was more of a knowledge/training issue. Anyhow, it's a good range - Great way to decompress, clear your head, focus upon what you're doing. A day at the range, working on the fundamentals of marksmanship & safe hunting rifle / shotgun use is ALWAYS a win in my book!! Come spend the day out there with me, I assure your it's a grand ole time!!

Recently went here with my wife hoping to introduce her to firearms for the first time…read more Unfortunately, it ended up being a pretty awful experience. At the range, one of the range officers on duty decided to use our rather expensive range time ($30 an hour/person) to give my wife an unsolicited lesson in how to handle a gun. For context, prior to going, I went through the trouble of prepping my wife for the range, teaching her how to handle the gun safely via dry fire practice. I tried communicating this to the range officer, but he insisted on giving my wife the lesson anyway. He spent half of our shooting session giving her an awkward, overly hands-on, borderline physically intrusive, lesson, getting closer than necessary. By the time he was finished, we would only be able to shoot a few rounds before the next cease fire was announced. The range master himself that day would make pretty belittling comments to me, often insisting I should do things a certain way that I felt were closer to arbitrary preferences than actual objective rules. For example, he told me I should move my target up to the 7 yard line (it was originally at the 10 yard line) because my groups weren't as tight as he thought they should be. All in all, we had a pretty terrible experience with this place and will almost certainly not be coming back.
