I took an Intermediate Pistol Course earlier this month with Matt and Ben leading the class -- both were phenomenal instructors. Each instructor had their own philosophy and methodology with handling and tactics. I appreciate that they also brought their "real world" experiences into our group discussions. Since the instructors have LE and Military backgrounds, better perspectives and examples are shared with the class which is an added bonus for those who are learning new concepts or strategies. The course I took was at Field Sports Park on the border of South San Jose and Morgan Hill. We had a private section of the park which worked nicely for our intimate class size of 10. The class started at 9am and ran a little bit past 3pm. We completed drills as a class and did some additional work in smaller group sizes of 1:5. I enjoyed the session so much that I signed up for 1:1 instruction for a new weapon I just purchased. Signing up is easy. Just browse through the course offerings on the website, select and pay for the course you want to take (check for prerequisites), and Adriana (I believe she's the Operations Manager) will respond to you promptly with all the details you need. By the way, Adriana has been an absolute pleasure to work with -- she's responsive and really great with answering questions. Overall, there's a pretty awesome team running this business. I would highly recommend for beginner shooters, skilled shooters, expert shooters, and every skill level in between!

I took my first handgun skill builder course with Josh, Mike and Steven this past weekend. They were all extremely friendly and did an absolutely awesome job instructing the class. The top priority is always safety with LDC and it definitely does not go unnoticed. I truly appreciate the way that they communicated with everyone; information is very streamlined and truly a great transfer of knowledge. I will continue to take classes with LDC and recommend them to all of my friends and family! Everything from start to finish was nothing short of amazing. The 8 hours of classroom time was extremely informative with real world situations which made it relatable and fun. The information was all clearly explained which made it extremely easy to digest. I feel truly thankful for all of the assistance/coaching that I received from the entire LDC team. We had the luxury of working with Joe, Archie, Mike and Roman; they were an absolute class act all around. The time on range was extremely safe and an absolute blast. In my opinion, they truly showed how passionate they were about their craft which pushed me to improve every step of the way. They have an absolute abundance of experience and knowledge, these are the people you need to be training with! Everyone should sign up for classes through LDC a few times a year. I personally am looking forward to improving more by taking their 4 hour skill builder classes. I don't plan on training with anyone else; I have already recommended them to a handful of my friends. However, I was quickly put at ease - by the instructors, but also the class. During tactical time, the instructors were watchful in the best way, ensuring that was was operating safely, and giving me 1:1 instruction to help my form. I think everyone - but especially women - would benefit from taking a course here! I plan to come back for a Skill-Builder course so I can build on the foundation they gave me.

We chose an outdoor range as I felt comfortable with the setting. Maybe less noise? Upon our arrival, we properly checked in, paid the fee which was reasonable and were on our way- When we checked in, I noticed on a board and was made verbally notified of upcoming classes. I truly appreciated that information. Coming in on a Saturday afternoon, it was a full house. The range master was very informative and showed me a few great pointers, being a lefty. Safety was very prevalent. I absolutely appreciate being in a space where it doesn't matter if it's your first or fiftieth time here-- follow the rules. Can't wait to bring my family back here!

Had an awesome time at Manteca Sportsmen's Club. I went down for their Steel Target Shooting Day…read more(4th Saturday event). I was running a bit late and didn't get there until around 1:20PM, but the staff was still super professional and welcoming. The lady in the clubhouse was really helpful and got me checked in and out to the range quickly, no stress at all. Once on the range, the steel setup was great -- really well put together and a lot of fun. I was able to shoot as much as I wanted and at my own pace (safely), which was a huge plus. Since I showed up later in the day, the RSO was really cool and let me know that if I wanted to keep shooting past the 2 PM end time, I could. I didn't end up staying past that, but I really appreciated him offering and not rushing me at all. As a veteran, I really appreciate ranges that are safe, well run, and treat people right, and this club definitely does. Great staff, solid RSOs, and an overall great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.
