THIS was WITH an appointment, I asked if I got the time wrong and was taken care of immediately. Eyewear promised in 7-10 days, it took about 7, thumbs up there. I called when they arrived and was told I can't get in to pick them up for another week. Last time I will ever shop there! It's too bad because the optometrist was awesome.

I had perfect eyesight but didn't know my alphabet and my speaking skills and comprehension wasn't good at that age. I finished the eye exam with the optometrist concludng that the 5-year old needed priscription glasses. I had no idea what glasses were or what they were meant to do at the time, but I was told to keep them on all the time so I did. As I grew, my eyes developed with the glasses, they grew to depend on them and even made my eye vision progressively detoriate with each year. I had to then get stronger and stronger glasses. Stuck wearing priscription glasses now, my biggest regret is not knowing what wearing glasses does when you dont need them. The worse part is knowing how much money your parents have spent on glasses for you over a lifetime... they're unbelievably expensive.

Called first thing on a Friday morning, and the lady that I spoke to, was extremely nice. I was…read moreable to book an appointment for that very afternoon, as I was concerned I had some kind of eye infection in both eyes. I got to my appointment, and the office staff was very good. Hence, at least the one star. Dr. Stephen Mazur was the optometrist that I was to see. He proceeded to conduct the exam (which wasn't needed, as I have had one within the past year), but that was fine, as I fairly recently needed to start using computer glasses, and told him as much. He asked how old I was, and I told him. He just nodded. He seemed quite professional. Once the exam was over, that is when the bedside manner changed. He proceeded to tell me that "because of my age" my eyesight wasn't as it was when I was younger. "Because of my age, my distance vision was starting to go", "I didn't need glasses for driving yet, but because of my age, I would in the not too distant future" He referred to "because of my age" a minimum of 7 or 8 times. He was just starting to write on his clipboard, and as he was doing so, he still hadn't addressed the real reason I went in in the first place. So I started to ask him about what I thought was an infection. He actually had the audacity to say "If I wouldn't interrupt him he would get to it" Then he proceeded to name a 3 word name of what I had. I couldn't understand the first word, but the second and third was "Gland Dysfunction" He then stated "I'll let you stew on that for a while". I replied back that If it sounds that bad, it wouldn't be as bad as it sounded. He then proceeded to state yet again, "because of my age.". He did quote a good explanation on what I had, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. He finished up, walked me to the reception area, gave me a sample of artificial tears and that was the end of it. Thank you to the staff who were nice. But even with that, and his bedside manor, I will not be returning.
