She later told me over the phone that she "couldn't try to guess my account number (while in search of it) because she had other patients to tend to." While waiting for assistance Jessica would take a personal call on her phone leaving my impression even more negative. After finally getting seen by the dentist, I got my prescriptions and went on my way. The pharmacy would not fill my prescription due to the absence of the DEA number that was forgotten. I am extremely understanding to the fact that mistakes can happen yet I will not be returning to this clinic. At the second Metro Dental, the receptionist was MUCH better and told me she would have to call the first office in Cottage Grove for they FORGOT to update my insurance. What a headache. While dental care remains unaffordable, the experience was unforgettable.

I did not make a follow up appointment with them. They should have referred me out to a dental surgeon because they didn't have an available appointment for 2 weeks! The next day I found a great oral surgery office. They got me in that day and removed the tooth. Smiles refused to send a referral and the extensive X-rays to the surgeon who could do the procedure. I paid in full for those X-rays at Smiles on the day I was seen. I believe that's a reportable offense to refuse to refer and forward records. The dentist at Smiles was arrogant and had a bad chair-side manner. One good thing at Smiles was the dental hygienist - very kind.

For the first time in many years I finally have good dental insurance. So yeah and with everyday brushing my teeth were and still are in bad shape. Dr. Kerr wanted nothing to do with me. Instead he had the receptionist set up an appointment with the dental hygienist for me to get a deep cleaning. During the cleaning, she wasn't able to complete it because my bottom two molars on my left side were way too sensitive. She called Kerr in to check it out. Again, he blew me off. As a result and with him having the cleaning performed before the work that really needed to be done...DONE, the cost of the deep cleaning ate up ALL of my insurance. Now I have to wait until January before I can get my teeth fixed because I don't have the extra $1,500 sitting around. Too boot, I'm still taking around with painful and sensitive teeth. Dr. Kerr knew very well this would happen. The kicker... I get an estimate from Park Dental in the mail today pretty much telling me that I'll have to pay out of my own pocket if I want the much needed work done. So... come January, you can bet the farm that I am NOT going back there. A friend and coworker referred me to the dentist that they go to. I will be going to that dentist instead. I am very disappointed in the services at Weingartner Dental. I have been a patient with them for…read moreover 10 years. Recently I had a tooth that cracked that needed a crown placed. Note the placement of this was top front (next to main two front teeth). Dr. Weingartner was great to get me in right away (one star). At the appointment they were courteous and patient with me (I have a fear of the drill) and fitted me with a temporary crown (another star earned). LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER the temporary crown fractured and fell off. I was not even eating anything when if fell off! I called the office and it was closed. Then they were closed on Friday too. When I called the office the first time I left a voice mail in the hopes someone checks the messages for emergencies but did not get a call back until the following Monday mid morning. THEIR VOICE MAIL MESSAGE ALSO DID NOT HAVE AN EMERGENCY NUMBER TO CALL. None of these items were in my control. I was scheduled to go out of town for a conference for work and not able to get in to their office the following week. Yes I looked like a Meth consumer with my tooth filed down for a crown and it being in the front it was very noticeable. It was embarrassing. When I asked the office can they give me a discount or anything they straight out said no. I get nothing for the time I had to go with my tooth exposed, the embarrassment and the lack of follow up by their staff. I really do like the dentist and the hygienist. It is sad that the office manager could not work with someone that has been a patient for a long period of time with situations that were out of her control. It is very sad that patients are not people anymore but rather only dollar signs. So the manager wants me to pay apx. $700 plus the additional $700 my insurance was going to pay. $1,200 total for a bad experience.

This is the second time that they submitted the claim to the wrong insurance carrier. So far they are batting 0 for 2. I'm a bit concerned that they may be shooting for the trifecta of incompetence. A word to the billing folks at Martin Dentistry - You have all the insurance information you need. Call me and I'll send you a photocopy of the insurance card if you lost my insurance information.....And then submit to the correct insurance carrier - It's really very simple. 7/21/2022 Update. The insurance claim has now been incorrectly submitted a third time! I called the Dental Insurance carrier and they say that they were never contact by Martin Dentistry for this claim! So, even though I provided Martin Dentistry with my insurance card information (front and back of card), and they had the dental insurance coverage information prior to the appointment on April 19, It is now 3 months later and they still can't get it right. HOW MANY more failed attempts will it take for Martin Dentistry to submit the claim to the correct carrier? 7/29/22 Update: Thank God! Over a 3 1/2 month period the billing folks at Martin Dentistry submitted the insurance claim to the wrong address even though they had the insurance information from my card prior to the appointment 3 1/2 months ago.
