Keep searching for someone else to work on your lawn! I asked Lindsey 'if they buried downspouts?' as I was looking to have the remainder of mine completed. She said they did. I asked her for a quote for the downspouts to be buried and also for a general lawn cleanup and mulch. Days went by before she came for a quote, when she did finally show up she was very friendly and gave me a good price. I decided to first only have them bury the downspouts and if that worked out ok, I had considered using them to do the rest. First, she offers a discount if you pay upfront... probably should have been my first sign that something wasn't right. Anyways, the work is scheduled a few days after I pay the money upfront. Her Partner comes to do the work, towards the end as I got outside I notice the downspout isn't buried with the proper piece and is instead just ending into the yard. I immediately ask why they aren't like the other ones? (it didn't have the elbow and grate so it wasn't flush with the lawn) He tells me that Lindsey never told him what it was supposed to look like. Then he tells me he will contact Lindsey now that he understands the work I requested and says they will be back to fix it. Days go by, I contact Lindsey to ask when it will be finished. Each day she promises her team will come the next day between so and so time. Every day they either no show, or I get a message that they don't have the parts yet, or that someone is sick... 2 weeks after the original work was done incorrectly, finally someone showed up (not Lindsey or the Partner who came out before), only to discover that again they don't bury the downspout but simply put the grate piece on the end, throw some rocks in front of the grate in the yard where the water flows out and call it good. This individual, Troy, tells me he is an Owner of the business and says he didn't understand what I wanted and blamed the Partner, who originally did the work, saying he did a poor job and didn't tell them what they needed to complete it correctly... WHAT?? Basically between Lindsey, her Partner, and apparently the Owner Troy there is ZERO communication. Since they got paid upfront they had absolutely ZERO interest in making my job a priority. Everyone pointed fingers at each other on why it wasn't done sooner ... The same evening the job was completed, Lindsey messaged me that they were "new to burying downspouts" and they are used to doing regular landscaping jobs. A good contractor would have said when asked up front it they did this kind of work would have declined it . I could at least have respected that as an honest answer! I won't be using them again not would I recommend them to anyone else. My mom needed someone to come and take care of the snow in her driveway this winter. One of her friends found Lindsey the Lawn Lady a couple of months ago. Here is what ensued. - Contacted Lindsay in November about snow service - Have meeting at the house on Dec. 2 and mom writes check out for $50 for 2 removals - 1/30 - my mom contacts them to find out when they can be out the next morning to plow. "by 8am" - 1/30 - They told my mom that there was a problem with the check that she gave them. She said to check with the bank again because her account is completely fine. It was cashed on Jan 5th. - 1/31 - 11am my mom calls again. On our way... - 1/31 - 3:45pm my mom called again. By 5pm. Never showed - 2/1 - My mom calls and leaves a VM. No response - 2/2 - I call them and tell them that I am her son and I was wondering what was going on and why they didn't plow her driveway. I get told that they went to the house in the late afternoon and knocked on the door to tell her that they couldn't do her drive because they didn't have a truck to plow and that they only had shovels and a snowblower but no one answered. My mom had been home and there were no tracks at all. In fact, no way they could have even gotten in her driveway. Then, they tell me that they told my mom that they do all of the removal by hand. And she asks me to confirm her address and phone number. I spoke with my mom afterward confirming what I already knew. It is a gravel driveway and there is no way she would tell them that they could remove the snow with a snowblower and shovel. - 2/2 - I get text from Lindsey stating that they she could "swear she told her" about the snowblower and shovels. She tells me that she will be there the following day to refund her the $50. - 2/3 - no refund, no call - 2/4 - no refund, no call - 2/5 - I text Lindsey telling her that I had been told that my mom didn't get her refund yet and when to expect her. She replied telling me that my text went to her mom's phone and not hers. She said that should would be there the next day. - 2/6 - no refund, no call - 2/7 - I get a text asking from Lindsey asking for my mom's number again and telling me that her truck is down. I give her the house number. She says that she will be there tomorrow. - 2/8 - I text Lindsey asking what time she would be at my mom's and if she had called my mom. No response. Spoke with my mom. They told her that she would be out that day. - 2/8 - no refund, no call - 2/9 - no refund, no call As I'm posting this, she still doesn't have her refund. A neighbor of hers has taken care of the driveway for her. read more
