The store was well staffed enough that we could banter with some of the employees about the state of the hobby without monopolizing the store, and they were patient enough to let six year old paw though the binders. They even found a few Charizards and Eevees that didn't break the bank. I didn't pick up The One Ring but we walked out with an armful of stuff and a few vending machine treats. They had water, snacks, drinks, and tables enough for any activities you could fathom. I'd strongly recommend this wholesome, clean, and well stocked shop to anyone passing though.

I currently live in Los Angeles CA and always make it a point to stop into this place because it a hidden gem in the mid-west. I'm excited to see the continue to be successful and have so support many bigger businesses and artists. They are little giants and a big impact in comics. Not only is Level-Up a superb example of the niche video game community (offering a giant selection…read moreof retro video game systems and games), but they buy/sell newer console games and DVDs. I first discovered them in 2013 when I moved to the area, and they had a "Buy 2 games under $10, get 1 free" deal that exists today. Aside from media and games, they also sell skateboards, wheels, grip tape, etc. at the back of the shop. They have some related toys to video games and other collectibles here and there in the store, as well. The smiling kids that left the store as I was walking in reminds me of what these places offered that big box companies can't: a specific specialness in the community.

We walked in and the lady behind the register looked at us, gave us a half smile definitely did not get a pleasant greeting. We looked around the store for maybe 5 minutes and my son found some Jurassic Park dinosaurs. I was on the ground with him reasoning with him to get only one toy. My wife was looking at some stuffed animals close by. She picked one up and pour it back. The lady behind the register comes over takes a picture of the shelf that my wife had picked up the stuffed animal from. And yes we saw the picture on her phone. After that we proceeded to get out of there because clearly she was racially profiling us. It's a shame and I didn't want to make a scene so I just bought my son the $50 dinosaur and we left. I should not have spent my money there. We will not be back and Don't recommend anyone of color to shop here.

I've been told they'll give $3 for a seat that has all toys and perfectly clean yet they sell the same seats looking nasty and missing toys for almost $30. And now today, I get home and start looking over my purchase. My bad for not standing at the counter to actually count this out, BUT using my phone number through rewards gave me a $10 DISCOUNT. They split it up amongst all the items I purchased. After going over all the prices I've realized they only deducted $5 from my entire purchase.....yet the receipt still says a $10 discount was applied!!.......so where is the other $5 dollars?? And this may seem meaningless to a lot. Like it's only $5....but now I'm wondering how many times this happens??!!?? Pretty sad we have pay super close attention and spend even more time at the register to catch these errors!
