I mean what can you say about one of these souvenir/ wannabe surf shops?? I stopped in here on our…read moreway out of St. Augustine because I was looking for a specific type of material for a sweatshirt. I have a sweatshirt from Deerfield Beach I love and thought I would be able to find something similar here. As I walked in, it became overwhelming due to the size of the store and the abundance of merchandise. There is so much merchandise that it becomes difficult to walk around without zig zagging. It was not super busy but there were enough people in there to make it difficult to navigate throughout the store. I found the sweatshirt area immediately but it was frustrating because many of the sweatshirts were hung on the walls. There were racks on the floor that also had sweatshirts but they were not all in the same area. While I was searching for what I wanted, I came across a huge, dead palmetto bug in the middle of the floor. It was then that I started speeding up my exploring and headed towards the register. I did find the sweatshirt I wanted but there were limited sizes and items, maybe a total of 8 sweatshirts of that particular kind. Cost almost $40, which I think is overpriced. The employee at the register was friendly.

I've seen this store numerous times back home in San Diego (La Jolla) but never popped in. What drew us into this store was the window decal that said "Be . YOU . tiful". Then of course, the bright colored scarves was the next thing that pulled me in. I'm a sucker for scarves and any other accessory for that matter. They carried a line named Spartina 449 (www.spartina449.com/) that I fell in love with. They had a section dedicated to this line and the patterns of their scarves and handbags were so appealing to me. The patterns that I loved were Sallie Anne and the Callahan. They had purses, coin purses, wristlets and jewelry in each which made it very difficult to decide which I wanted. In the end, I purchased an artisian scarf in a soft pastel pattern, a beautiful cover for my mini ipad which was actually made for a Kindle but it fits my mini perfectly. (http://www.spartina449.com/callahan-kindle-4-touch-cover.html) and a coin purse in the Sallie Ann pattern (http://www.spartina449.com/sallie-ann-island-coin-purse.html). I also purchased a tear drop necklace that falls mid chest that I knew I couldn't leave without. My sister did the most damage and ended up buying practically everything in the Lesesne pattern. She was so excited about her purchase, she changed out her purse on the drive back to Orlando. lol The gal working was very helpful and super sweet. We were the only one's in the store for awhile but she totally took care of us and made us feel right at home at all times. This is a store that I wouldn't shop in regularly, but I'm glad we found pieces that we fell in love with and were able to take home. I wore my scarf to a meeting the next day and got lots of compliments on it. Wouldn't you know...the following day it was 80 degrees in San Diego so it's been sitting pretty on my closet shelf. Can't wait to wear it again.

I bought 3 summer all cotton dresses at that time in wonderful colors and they are still my go to for cool summer dressy casual comfort! Going to go back this morning to get some fresh new pieces to spruce up my spring and summer outfits. Remember shop Made in the USA! for quality clothes!
