Linen Chest sells linens, lol, but also other housewares. It's a bit like Bed Bath and Beyond. It's a popular place for Wedding Registries. It's also Canadian. Prices are average, comparable to similar places like Bed Bath and Beyond. They do have sales and quite a few clearance items. They are good if you are in need of bedding and need to buy ASAP. I personally rarely have urgent deadlines to buy items, so I prefer to shop at places like Homesense, Winners and Marahalls, where prices are cheaper, but I may not find what I'm looking for on a particular visit. The store is bright, large and spacious. Staff are nice. Not my kind of store personally, but I can see the appeal and I like that they are a Canadian company. The store is in a plaza (same plaza are Ikea and Corbeil Appliances). Lots of free parking. read more

I bought sheet sets, numerous pillows, and bathroom accessories along with bed at Linen chest on iris. The sales person insisted I needed a box spring even though I had told him I had a had a bed frame which had held my previous 2 king matresses. Prior to delivery, I went in to discuss this with the salesperson and managers who agreed it wasn't required. The managers, Janis and Katie were unbelievably rude for customer service and Katie even agreed that it wasn't needed. I will certainly share my experience with anyone looking to shop there. They are strictly looking for you to spend your $8000 and walk out the door. To the owner, perhaps a staff refresh is in order? read more

Love this store on Iris Street. Very clean and well organized. The staff, especially Jacqueline in the bedding department is very knowledgeable. She had many suggestions for combining colors and styles and knew where to find everything that I needed. However, she was not pushy or demanding that I wanted something that I did not need. TL;DR: Customer service lacks ownership and willingness to help. We had to make two trips to return some curtains that were not a good fit for our home. During the first trip, my wife was denied a refund/exchange because the rep was too confused by some of the curtains being in the wrong bags. No resolution. A week later, she reorganized all of the curtains in their respective bags and even packed up the curtains we did like and that we didn't want to return. This was so that they could not deny that anything was missing. My wife went back to the store and I went with her this time. Another rep offered to help this time, and it took them no time at all to point out the many reasons why a refund could not be processed: "The SKU's on the bags don't match the receipt," "the curtain inside doesn't match the description in the bag," etc. They said they could refund some of the curtains but not two of them as they were not accounted for. They explained that their heads would be on the block if they were to allow such items to be refunded. "It was technically not possible," "the system did not allow this," etc. All said in a very condescending tone. My wife was about to accept their compromise until I stepped in to say no. The reps should know what merchandise they sell, what their bags look like. They could go to the isles and see that some of their merch is mislabeled. They could have asked the employee that sold my wife the merch (who was nearby) if she scanned things in a funky way to push them through (which she later said she did). She could have consulted her supervisor before I got irate. She could have asked someone on the floor that was more knowledgeable about the merch to have a look. She eventually called her supervisor who was on break and told the story in a manner that could not result in any other outcome than the one she had decided on. The rep spent so much time trying to justify and explain why things could not happen, but didn't spend an ounce of effort to consider that the problem was caused by them and that it was their responsibility to fix. It took waiting for an experienced rep on the floor to come by and point out that it was normal for the curtains that we selected to have mismatched labelling and that they should process the refund anyway. If this is how the store is run while the manager is on break, then it is in trouble. The two reps we spoke to had the same poor attitude. No customer service, no ownership or willingness to assist. This is no way to run a business. We will never shop here again and hope others will choose to put their money elsewhere. read more

For a very long time, I always wondered what this store was about. A place dedicated to linens? How many linens can one household need? We usually get everything we need from Ikea (yawn). They usually have a decent selection at the budget we have set aside for stuff like this. Not this time. We needed to replace our duvet cover. The one from Ikea that was bought 15 years ago had finally worn out after lots of use and multiple washings. So, naturally we went to Ikea, and looked at the website to see if anything caught our eye. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Gross. Expensive. Cheap materials to boot. Linen Chest is in the same mall, so we figured, what the hell. Let's check it out. What have we got to lose? Turns out, there are some real gems waiting to be discovered. Initially we were grossed out by all the choices. Most of the offerings seemed to be aimed at people who were born in the early 1900's. Stuff your grandma would own. Everything else was bland. We wanted something that would pop, and induce a smile every time we saw it before turning in at the end of the day. Then, we saw it. Cute little birds! And, a colour scheme that wasn't revolting. And, FLANNEL. Warm, soft flannel, perfect for the winter months that coming. Package in hand, we toured the store to see what else they had. Coffee machines, small appliances, cookware........I'll thin twice the next time I'm tempted by a coupon from Bed/Bath/Between. Price was decent as well for a cover and 2 shams. Or, so I thought, until I got to the cash to pay. It was on sale - 30% off! Thinking back, the staff was eager to help with whatever questions we had, and offered the kind of customer service that it sorely lacking in today's retail experience. We shall return for out summer linens, since I don't think flannel and summer go together. read more
