Ling Nam is malinamnam! Of course it is. How could a restaurant that has been around since WAAAAAAY before I was born be otherwise? Ling Nam has grown from its humble roots to a chain of no frills, affordable Chinese restaurants. Among my favorites are their hakaw (juicy and with plenty of shrimp), their miki bihon and their spinach garlic.
It's easy to overlook this place what with the rather bland interior design and ambience. But rather than bland, I'd like to think of it more as efficient. This is the type of place that you go in, eat a bunch of grub and get out. It's not high frills and thrills like Shang Palace nor is it grand and majestic like the humongous Greenhills Gloria Maris. It's not as polished as Lugang and not as bountiful as Mann Hann. But it is what it is: easy on the wallet and heavy on the stomach. read more
