We are regulars at several of them. While it is quite a drive from the SLO/Pismo area, the scenic drive and proximity to glorious coastal views/parks/ocean [e.g. Shamel County Park/ Moonstone Parks], more than compensates for this. Curiously, while Cambria has several of the same vendors as many other Southern FM's, it is run independently of the others, including the North County FM's. This is only a problem, if you have left over chits from other NCFM's. Cambria's FM is located in a pleasant area right next to the Veterans Center and a memorial, at the beginning of downtown Cambria, right off the 101. While they have good range of vendors, the two stars here are Cambria's own Linn's BBQ/Pies, and Mt. Olive Organic Farm from Paso Robles [both of which have physical stores or farm]. Linn's BBQ somehow makes one of the most savory, smoky, succulent, BBQ meats that one can find anywhere, including Huli-Huli chicken in Hawaii. I am not sure what magic goes into their BBQ, but I suspect that slow roasting over a proper wood fire gives it a unique taste, which is well worth over an hour drive. We also found that their homemade Raspberry/ Rhubarb mini-pie was flawless. While they are likely affiliated with their Cambria store, I did not see any mention of their BBQ on Linn's store reviews. While Linn's BBQ is strictly limited to Cambria, Mt. Olive OF [aka MOOF] does get around to at least a few other SLO county FM's, including the huge SLO/ Madonna Plaza Sat. 8AM one, as well as, the quaint, lesser know FM, in serene Baywood, every Monday at 2PM. MOOF, offers a vast selection of all kinds of locally grown creations, produce, and vegetables. They have everything one can imagine from teas, to eggs, to even edible flowers. There are other locally well known vendors that also appear at several of the other FM's, including ones that bake, sell seafood, meat, soup, and more. A few are specific to the Cambria region, such as Olive Oil/Wine, local veges, and more. The vendors and customers make for a rather festive event, and it is quite fun, even in the winter. By going off-season, you benefit from less congested touristed area, and can be almost alone on some of the many nearby beach parks/ hiking trails, where it is great idea to have a impromptu picnic, from all the goodies that you snag here. In general, the prices here are quite reasonable for pricey Cambria, and are a bargain compared to the touristy places. Since you are nowhere near SLO's Whole Foods, Lassen's, TJ's, or even the local health food store in Morro Bay, this is likely the best place to score great eats if you stay in the area. In summary, Cambria's FM is a winner & well worth repeated visits!

Walked in to the bright and airy shop and was immediately greeted with a big smile. The shop is small, but thoughtfully laid out. Not only are there different foods to try from local shops around the Central Coast, there are crafts and gift items as well. I picked up a block of local Garlic Jack cheese to add to a charcuterie board I'm making for a Christmas party. There were so many different things to check out that I cannot wait to go back next time I am in town to see what other local treats I can experience!

The shop is stocked with goods made locally in SLO County. You can tell the store is thoughtfully thought out- from the display of the goods to the available items. There's things for everyone- the foodie, the plant lovers, the souvenir searchers, the four legged (doggy & kitty) lovers, the home and yard decorators, the clothes lovers, etc. The store isn't always open, but go into the pizza restaurant next door and ask when it'll be open. It's totally worth making that effort. The owner is super sweet and so nice too! I purchased a metal Cambria sign and we just mounted it on driftwood from Moonstone Beach. We absolutely love it !!!

Glad I found Indigo Moon. The outdoor patio is quite large and has a nice ambiance for al fresco dining with your pup. I had the Faroe Island Salmon served with broccoli and cauliflower with brown & wild rice. The salmon was one of the best salmons I've had. I usually don't eat the skin, but this skin was crisp and the salmon was cooked perfectly. If you love salmon, this is a must. My friend had a chicken pasta and also loved their main dish. We were too full to have dessert. Next time. Service was nice and attentive. My pup also loved the patio and loved the fresh bowl of water. I'll definitely be back next trip to Cambria.

The host and our server Elin were friendly, helpful and attentive. The food, however, was mostly underwhelming. * Crab Cakes -- Too much filler for me, and not much crab to the taste. The chili lime sauce was not the best looking accompaniment either. Not sure why this appears to be such a popular item. * Salmon Tacos -- Dry rub salmon chunks with chili lime mayo, shredded cabbage, mango salsa and black beans. Salmon was fresh enough, but a bit heavy on the dry rub seasoning. The mango salsa was nice. The side black beans had too much salt and cummin for my taste. * Flat Iron Steak -- It was rather average. Not the most tender or juicy skirt steak. Normally served with mashed potato and veggies, but they allowed us to sub mash potatoes for creamy polenta which was nice. I have to say we were expecting more from Indigo Moon based on the other reviews. Overall, the food was just ok...like a longtime neighborhood cafe you'd like to support, but don't expect super fine dining.

(Which is saying something, because between Morro Bay, Cayucos, and Cambria there are quite a few candy shops) Their fudge is unparalleled. While the harmony ice cream is not my favorite, I very much appreciate the fact that they have local ice cream and the portions were a good size at a good price. The staff is exceptionally nice, especially the owner who has been working most of the times we have been there. She's one of those people who is so genuine that you can instantly feel it. I also wanted to add an additional comment kind of in response to a one star review that was left from an exchange that happened while I was eating ice cream just outside the shop. A family with some kids were in the shop and they came out and went to leave but one of the little boys ran up to this cute giant teddy bear serving as the shop's "mascot" and punched it right in the face. It was a slower part of the day business-wise and so the owner saw the kids do this and went outside to ask why the kid punched her bear. The comment claims that she yelled at them, but this was simply not true. She did raise her voice, but it was because the family had already made it to the end of the block. She didn't say anything rude, she just asked why he did that and said it wasn't very nice. (This may be my personal opinion, but if your kid likes to punch animals, even if they're fake, I'd be seriously worried about what kind of person this kid will become.) A few minutes later the woman with the child came back and started yelling (yes this was yelling) at the employee for treating them like it. Never once did she apologize. Never once did she have her kid apologize. She just let her kid learn that yelling at employees was the correct response for being called out on something you did. I cannot believe the nerve of some people. After she "karen-ed" at the owner and left, I went inside to reassure the owner that she was in the right and hopefully offer some encouragement (at least as much as a stranger customer could). I could tell she was deeply bothered by the exchange with the Karen, and I don't blame her. It sucks when your words are twisted against you and your business integrity is questioned. Sending all of my positive energy and vibes to this business and the employees there. Wishing you a Karen-free rest of your summer! Tl;dr: this candy shop is the best on the central coast. Don't pay attention to the few negative reviews, they're from Karens.
