It was late in the afternoon, and I didn't feel like eating more fast food; so, I stumbled upon this local grocery store for some salad and fruits. They offered plenty of options and everyone was kind and considerate. I had no issues finding what I needed for the evening and following day. Most importantly, after arriving back home from this California trip, I compared prices and everything was under what I'm paying for here at the big chain stores. Definitely the best option for groceries in Cambria. Went to another store first, and left without buying anything due to limited items and very high prices. It is very important to have a well stocked market in any small coastal town, esp. in Cambria which can go from a small town of locals to bursting with visitors in the summer. We went to the market and although some of the prices were higher than I'm used to paying, I'm thankful not to have to drive over 30 miles to a large super market like Albertsons in Morro Bay just to get some groceries. We vacation here multiple times a year and always rent with a kitchen, so this is our go to spot. Please support this local market. read more

This place is always fully stocked and I can find everything I need for additional snacks and beverages. When you're staying in San Simeon, this place isn't too far to get to and the only market that's close by. They have a full deli, produce, and liquor section but I like their chips I can't find anywhere else. The locals are always nice and there is plenty of parking. read more

We've been coming to Cambria for years and never once noticed this small grocery store located on top of the hill off Main St. For water and other drinks, we'd visit the liquor store or stop by markets outside of town on our way in. So glad to have discovered this place for some staples when we're in town for a couple days. Prices are a bit higher but the convenience is unbeatable. read more

First night in cambria, came here and the store smelled. The store did not look clean.. shelves dirty. It probably works for the locals but definitely not a store I'd ever go back too, very expensive. Also the parking is on a hill, so be careful going out the wrong way. I did a bad thing! Burned myself to a crisp at the beach. We came here looking for aloe right before closing time only to find none on the shelves. One of the cash register guys said he hasn't seen it in a long time. We left immediately and found some the next day. Convenient little store, but they know they have the market cornered. Instead of partnering w the community to provide a fair price (fine w a mark up given distance and location) they are about 3X what an actual average price is across the board. We got a case of beer (12 of Pacifico), band aids, ibuprofen, neosporen, a pack of crayons, 2 coloring books and a water it was $70 went the other day for a two grocery shop it was $300. It's one thing to mark up items this gouging, all the elderly use the market and you are charging them a premium. How about we settle for 2X over market. read more

Too bad they don't highlight local products more effectively. I'm in this area several times a year and I'm always looking for cool new locally-made products to buy. This grocery store is satisfactory for a small town like Cambria. Local items of interest- MO's BBQ sauce, specifically Philthy Phil's, is one of my favorite sauces period. It's like 4.75 a bottle here but they HIDE IT from customers on the top shelf in the meat department. It's like they segregated it from the actual BBQ sauce aisle, makes no sense. Harmony ice cream was impossible to find at this location. Then on my last visit they had it. Not in the ice cream case, that would be too easy. They placed it in some side fridge with no special markings. Cattaneo and Ray's Beef Jerky. Not with the rest of the Jerky but they do have their own rack. Tip - Nice deli workers... read more

Usually when we arrive in town my wife and I stop at this market to pick up bottled water, snacks, and anything way may have forgotten or need for the hotel room. Prices are high and variety is low but it's pretty much your only choice in town if you need something. They've got a nice selection of local wines from Paso Robles and they carry SLO coffee roasters k-cups. Plenty of parking. read more

One of the few markets in Cambria, this place is where one would do their daily shopping. There's naturally a very large selection of local (and not local) wines for sale. Some actually the same price as you would buy at the winery. Plenty of the good ol' jug wine too if that's your thing (yuck!). We didn't actually take the longest look around but it's your standard small town grocery store (with that small town markup) but it's the place to shop without going out of town. read more

A classic small Safeway-like market with a small deli with standard deli fair like potato salad. Very little gourmet or vegan or specialty foods are to be found here, this is the place for basics from wine to cheese to cereal. Good sized produce section. For the size of Cambria, this is a good-sized grocery store/market. You want booze and a fairly decent wine selection? Milk, meats, breads, cheeses, chips, ice cream? As far as I could tell, all the essentials are here. Prices are probably a little bit higher here than in groceries located in bigger cities. But that is not necessarily unusual for small town businesses. It is not a gourmet market by any stretch of the imagination but it has everything you need and the selection is not bad at all. At least you won't be scrounging for old bread or $2 wines at 7-11. It is a real market. read more

Unless you need mostly packaged basics, this place will disappoint. Limited selection on fresh anything, despite being near many local farms. Most produce is from Mexico... practically zero organic anything. And for a store 2 minutes from the ocean, they had no local fresh fish. This is like almost only one grocery store in Cambria so can't complain about it. Staffs are nice and has enough selections of food. I bought ice cream and it was already a bit melted so that was only bad experience. They close at 9pm so just make sure getting your needs before too late! read more
