I met Melissa through my friends that also had her photograph their weddings. When I saw the quality of her photos, I knew immediately that I wanted her for my future wedding. I also did my medical school graduation photos with her and I'm so happy I did! The photos came out amazing. Years later, I met the man of my dreams, got engaged, and found myself excited to plan my wedding. I knew Melissa was going to be one of my first vendor phone calls. From the beginning, she was professional and easy to communicate with. Initially, my fiance and I opted out of the engagement photos part of the package because we had wonderful proposal photos taken by family but we ended up changing our mind and adding it into the package. She allowed us to do so without an issue. We are so glad we did! We weren't sure where to do the photos and she ended up giving us wonderful recommendations. We LOVE our engagement photos. Throughout the wedding process, we felt very taken care of by Melissa. She had us answer questions so she could determine what was important to us and what parts of the wedding was especially important to capture. She was also able to answer all our questions as well. She is extremely experienced. The day of was a dream. Melissa was able to take all the poses, images, and group photos that we wanted for our big day. Our engagement shoot was in SF and he came up and it was like being with a friend. My husband and I had such a great time, every place we went he would not only capture us, but the magic around us. At one point we were driving to the next spot and we stopped in this lush green forest area and took the most beautiful pictures you have ever seen. During the wedding he was super calm and really captured the love of the ceremony. He had great ideas about lighting, placement, and poses. I love all of my pictures and would hire him again for family pictures or any other events. I enjoyed his professionalism, thought out ideas and his creativity. Before signing the contract, I…read moreinquired about a second photographer of which Austin assured me there would be one; however, on the wedding day there was no second photographer. He did not approach us before, during, or after the wedding to explain, apologize, or offer compensation for the no show. A few months after, I wrote a letter explaining my concerns and frustrations. His response was apologetic stating the second photographer had an emergency that day and was willing to compensate in the form of a print credit or special print. My husband and I decided on a print credit. Upon texting our decision to Austin, he denied offering this option. Ultimately, we settled on a picture album. There are some picture flaws I feel a second photographer could have remedied. There was a U-Haul in the background of family photos, my dress had a small train that was bunched in a few shots, and there were few guest photos. In retrospect, due to the lack of professionalism and accountability, I would have performed a more thorough search of photographers in the Bakersfield area. Austin was very easy to work with and took many beautiful pictures that we will cherish for years to come; however, I do not feel the service and price were equivalent.

My sister lives in Bakersfield and I live down in Los Angeles. So searching for Newborn Baby Photographers, I came across Alyssa's page. I saw her portfolio and it was just what I was looking for. I have never hired a photographer before and had no idea about the process. Alyssa was very prompt, understanding, and overall so sweet with helping me get the most with my budget ($200) and also explaining the whole process. We knew we wanted the cute baby photos and didn't know if my sister would be up for mommy and daddy with the baby photos until the day of. Alyssa was very flexible to her and what she wanted and offered a mini session with the baby and parents if they wanted or just the baby. She also has baby props for the session! They ended up getting about 6 pictures of all 3 of them, and 24 pictures of baby by himself. My sister said it was an Awesome experience! For the budget, we got to select and keep 5 of the 27 photos. But the photos were soooooo good! So we ended up getting 4 more for a great price!
