I hired Fence Company of Columbus to install an aluminum fence at my home after comparing several local providers. Initially, the experience seemed promising. Bryan came out to assess the property and provide a quote, and the pricing was competitive with other companies. Ultimately, I chose them not only based on cost, but also because they offered to remove an old deck as part of the project. However, the issues began almost immediately once it came time to schedule the work. After receiving city approval, I reached out twice via email (October 13 and October 27) just to get on the calendar. It wasn't until October 27 that I received a response saying they were wide open the following week. I replied the next day with availability (November 6 and 7), but received no response. I had to follow up yet again on November 2, at which point Bryan said we could "touch base" later that week. That never happened. I attempted to call on November 7, and Bryan texted that he would call later to schedule--but again, no follow-up. After another outreach on November 9, he finally proposed an install date of November 10 around noon. I adjusted my schedule to be home, only for no one to show up at the agreed time. At 1:35 PM, I reached out and was told they would arrive shortly; they showed up about 30 minutes later. The company heavily promotes a 5-year installation warranty, emphasizing during the sales process that they will stand behind their work and fix any issues. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. The installation itself was subpar. A section next to the gate was never properly cut down, something a different employee (who later came out and mentioned he was new but experienced in fencing) described as "pure laziness." As a result, once the fence settled, the gate would not close properly and consistently struck the post. When I reported the issue, they did send someone out the next day--but instead of fixing the root problem, the worker simply shook and shifted the fence enough to temporarily make it appear functional. This likely compromised the concrete setting, and the issue quickly returned. Hoping the problem might have been weather-related due to the ground freezing, I waited until the new year before reaching out again. When I did, Bryan assured me it would be covered under warranty and sent out the same newer employee. After evaluating the situation, he explained the real issue: multiple posts needed to be reset and the fence section properly cut--confirming the original installation was not done correctly. He contacted Bryan and indicated that more substantial repair work would need to be scheduled. Once again, communication fell apart. I didn't hear anything, so I followed up on May 11, then again on May 18. I was told someone would come out on May 19--no one showed up. At 3 PM that day, I reached out again and was told Bryan would check with the employee, but I received no further updates. I attempted to call later that evening with no response. After the Memorial Day weekend, I tried again and was given a new date: June 4 in the afternoon. I confirmed my availability, only to experience yet another no-show. At this point, the pattern is clear: poor communication, repeated no-shows, and a failure to stand behind their warranty. While the initial pricing may be competitive, the quality of work and lack of professionalism make this company incredibly difficult to deal with.

Then Megan, apparently set up an appointment for 5/21 instead of 5/22 and when I asked when they would be out, after about an hour of text messages (not a single phone call. Megan abruptly canceled the appointment without even telling me. I tired calling them but they don't answer the phone. This is all RED FLAG behavior - beware of this company. They will jerk you around. All of this is evidenced in ANGI chat so it's clearly true. Wasted two weeks of my time on waiting this poorly run company for the estimate - can't risk actually letting them do the work - that would be stupid on my part given the history trying to let them sell me a solution. Brice, who came out to measure and provided the estimate, was very nice and answered all of our questions. Once we signed the contract, we were handed off to a project manager (whose name escapes me at the moment), who was equally nice and knowledgeable. We were contacted on installation day with updates on what to expect. The crew showed up and worked their butts off for a full day (Wednesday) and about 6 hours (Saturday). We hired G Ruh Concrete to install a patio at our home a little over a year ago. Not long after the job was completed, we noticed several quality issues -- ones they acknowledged and promised to fix. Unfortunately, despite repeated assurances, the follow-through never came. Over the past year, we've made every reasonable attempt to resolve the situation: calls, texts, emails -- all ignored. Most recently, we've discovered we've been blocked on social media, which feels like a final attempt to shut down any communication or accountability. We've given them ample time and opportunity to make it right, but at this point, we want others to be aware. If you're considering working with G Ruh Concrete, we strongly recommend proceeding with caution. The deterioration has continued to spread, and sections of the driveway now look significantly aged despite regular care and no unusual usage. I contacted the company multiple times in 2025 and 2026 to discuss the excessive cracking and chipping and to ask about possible repair options or warranty coverage. Unfortunately, the responses I received did not resolve the issue, and the condition of the driveway continues to worsen. Their only response was to tell me to apply another sealer coat. This will not stop the chipping which is occurring from underneath the surface due to insufficient bonding agent.
