20 months ago my wife bought a puppy golden retriever. It was our 2nd dog since our first one died a few months earlier. The new puppy was a pain in the ass. Somehow the wife found Loinhart and she convinced me to come to interview Linda, the owner with her. When Linda told me she's been training dogs for over 25 years, I asked her how much, she swiped my credit card and I left the dog with her. I picked the dog up 10 weeks later. He learned 10 words. And he learned them well! Now the dog is 20 months old and is unbelievably and extremely well behaved. I attribute Leo the dog's manners and attention and calmness and even his health to the 10 weeks that he spent being trained there. If you want a really well behaved dog I highly recommend this lady. She has some funny rules like don't come inside her facility until you're called but if you listen to her, she won't disappoint you. Now 20 months later, the older the dog gets the better he behaves. Meh, she flexed that she trains dogs from all over the country, so i thought she'd be able to at the very least train my dog all of the basic things like sit, fetch, etc. I stuck with the things she taught for a couple months but my dog failed to pick up on them. the only thing i got out of the $2000 investment was my dog is now potty trained. a $120 training course at my local pet store helped my dog more than her. i wish i could leave a better review but i couldn't justify going to this trainer for the hefty price. read more

This woman is harsh and mean. The dogs behave because they are terrified. She instigated my puppy so she could make her react, then told us we should pay for the boot camp cuz they puppy needed it. We came across Lionheart K9 on google when we were looking for a boarding and training option for our new puppy.  We were first-time dog owners and got our puppy sooner than we planned, so needless to say, we were nervous!  We had to find someone to watch our new addition while we were away and were looking for the added bonus of training too.  We were so grateful when Linda answered the phone and reassured us that she could not only watch our puppy, but the boot camp would lay the foundation for a well-behaved and trained dog.  That one conversation with Linda truly changed our lives.  We have found Linda and her husband Peter to not only be extremely professional, but their knowledge of dog psychology and behavior, dog training, and dog handling is extraordinary. Their techniques are practical and can easily be put into use at home. When we dropped Sammi off for their boot-camp, we had a 4 month old cockapoo that wasn't potty trained, had no schedule, knew no commands, was hard to manage on a leash, and was not crate trained.  When we picked Sammi up, she was on a schedule that matched our home routine, she understood the basic commands, she was very comfortable in her crate, and most importantly we were taught how to manage a new puppy. We continue to take Sammi to Linda and Peter weekly for day camp and every time we need a dog sitter or go on vacation, Sammi happily gets to stay with them. When she is there, she not only gets training, but also gets to socialize with dogs of all ages and breeds.  By far the aspect of Lionheart that we have found most beneficial and rare is the unwavering support from Linda.  I email her all times of the day and night with questions/concerns and she promptly responds to offer advice and reassurance.   We have recommended Lionheart to out of town relatives with new puppies, and to friends with older puppies with behavior problems, and so far everyone has had unbelievable success. I know many know of Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer, but Linda is him times 2! I met Linda and Peter a couple of years ago, and she was amazing with our Dutch Shepherd, though we just tapped the tip of the iceberg of my wild child. I recently went back to her with my Dutch Shepherd to evaluate her for some specialized training. She was willing to train the dog; however, was completely honest in stating the drawbacks in this particular case - the dog's age and a physical issue that could limit the amount of time she could actually perform her job. That said, I didn't feel it would be in the dog's best interest to have a "job", no matter how much she needed one. Our discussion continued, and I mentioned a puppy I had that just turned a year old, but was small and didn't think would be appropriate. After an evaluation the following week, it turned out she would be perfect for this training. She is making amazing progress - which would move along a bit better if this human could learn just as quickly! When she offered weekly group classes, Mayhem to Manners, I was intrigued - and signed up, knowing we could get the results we needed! My Dutch Shepherd could use a more extensive education. Linda stresses the simple fact that she can't do it alone - owners need to have the commitment to practice what she teaches in order to be successful - because eventually those weekly meetings with Linda will come to an end.
