A must stop if you're in Neenah. One of the best breweries in the Fox Valley! We spend many many nights here with friends and family drinking their great beer. It's difficult to pick favorites here for me because I enjoy so many of them, but I think the Vienna Lager (Number 90 Red) is my absolute go-to! I always buy cans when we're there of this too. We love to get their flights of 4 to be able to try a bunch and then order full pours after. Other great beers from them are the Juice Cloud (Hazy NE IPA), Double Juice (Hazy NE DIPA) , PB Porter (basically a reeces cup porter), their Oktoberfest is one of my favorites made in the Fox Valley, and the Kristin. They have a bunch of board games you can use. They have a main bar area and then a super cool vault room, and then another larger room with other bar games and a mini stage. They have tvs that usually have sports on or the extensive beer menu. They have at least a dozen of their own rotating taps at all times plus a bunch from other WI breweries. There is to-go beer canned availed as well as you can buy/fill crowlers and growlers of any of the pours too. Plus they have cozy merchandise for sale behind the bar. I always end up in a conversation with the beer tenders because they are so personable and friendly. They do not make or serve food but they have menus for and you can order the delicious Broken Tree Pizza to be delivered to you while you're here. Being in an old school building you have to go down the hall to use the shared bathrooms but they are always pretty clean and always stocked up. The parking situation isn't ideal during the day as it is a shared smaller lot and since it's downtown it's busier traffic to try and park on the street. I've never had an issue finding parking while visiting in the evening. They now also have a cute outdoor patio! If you're visiting in the fall they host a fun Oktoberfest with local bands, food trucks, and beer releases! My husband had a few breweries on a list for us to pick from on a stop on our way to Appleton. He didn't realize there's one down in Tosa, so we likely wouldn't have come if he had known that. The first disappointment was that they only really serve pizza and bread sticks, I usually like fries with my beer but we were going to roll with it. Extra points for the bartender that called to check on allergens. However, there was an hour wait on breadsticks so there was no food readily available to have with the beer. My mood immediately was on the downward spiral. I thought the beer was okay. We ordered a flight, and neither of us had anything that we thought was fantastic. The ambience was actually quite good, and if there wasn't a ridiculous wait on appetizers I'm sure my rating would be slightly higher. read more

What a great spot to stop in for delicious beer. We also enjoyed their oversized pretzel and a pizza delivered from just down the street and you order it with your beer and they put it on our tab. The service was spot on with almost no wait and the ambiance is unique in terms of the building used to be an old bank and they left many of the features, including the vault doors. read more

Good beer, good times. My guy and I were in the Fox Cities for the day and had plans to meet a friend for an early happy hour at Lion's Tail at her suggestion. We got here about and hour after they opened and ready to try some beers. If I recall correctly, they do not serve food, which is a bit of a downside. But we were prepared with having had a late lunch and plans for a meal later in the evening. They boast a good variety of different beer styles and flavors, as well as lots of seating both inside and out. A great use of a renovated historical building, with a small dedicated parking lot right next to it (but there is plenty of street and nearby public parking available too). I grabbed a table outside (because the weather was spectacular) and sent my guy inside with my desired flight card written out. They were out of one of the things I wanted but I was able to quickly fill that in with something else. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and had a great time with friends and beer...and that beer was DELICIOUS. I was running low on money for take-home-to-Kentucky beer, but after a flight and a pint I had to narrow down what I was going to buy as to-go! I can't speak to a ton of their beers, but the fruity, sour and slushie beers were FANTASTIC and I enjoyed them very much. Highly recommend a visit from anyone in or visiting the Fox Cities. There are plenty of restaurants, bar and grill or brew pubs in the area if you are so inclined. Nationwide, the best small-medium size craft breweries choose to focus on the beer. Very disappointed with the way that we were treated by a member of the staff behind the bar today. We frequently visit this establishment almost on a bi-weekly basis and bring multiple friends with us. We waited in line like everyone else and when we got to the front of the line, we politely asked for samples. The guy behind the bar told us that the line was too long behind us and he didn't have time to pour samples very rudely. I looked behind us and there were only four people behind us which were actually two couples. He then asked if I knew what I wanted and I replied with "No as I had not tried the new beers yet." He angrily poured the 2 inadequate samples and then looked to the group behind me and said, " Can I help someone who actually knows what they want?" After being treated this way, we contacted the other 8 people that were going to be meeting us and made plans to go elsewhere instead. Everyone in the group agrees that there is no need for that kind of disrespect or rudeness. The business lost the entire group's sales today which would have been at least 20 beers seeing how there would have been 10 of us and we would have had at least 2 drinks per person. My homeland has changed a lot in the 30 years since I left. I'm here (I grew up just across the river, in Menasha) with limited time, so I walked to LTBC for ONE beer, expecting it to be a local craft IPA. But then I looked at the tap list and, lo and behold, there was my favorite beer, which I have not seen back in SF--I've only had it in Tampa. Anyway, I hope I have the opportunity to come back for a more local offering, but on this particular afternoon, the Jai-Alai (and even just its availability) was just the attitude adjuster I needed. 2 other notes: * no "real" food options, but they'll order for you from the pizza place down the street and have it delivered to the bar * the space is really nice in a cool building with history. read more

I really wanted to like this place. We tried two different flights and in all honesty we only liked one beer out of all 8. All the dark beers we had were weak in body and taste with a strange aftertaste. We were offered a food menu and decided to try a few things since it was a wood fired kitchen and that sounded great. The food was underwhelming and it came in a to-go style (all disposable) which didn't add to the experience. This is a solid little brewbup tucked away in downtown Neenah. They come up with pretty clever names for their brews ("I Would Walk 500 Milds" is a personal favorite), and the variety makes it hard to choose. I settled on the Kula Wheat-a wheat ale with pineapple that was refreshing and good. Another person got the Grapefruit Hefeweizen, which I thought was amazing and would highly recommend. It's not a large place in the main area-bar stools and a couple high-top tables, but it gives it a nice feel. They don't serve much food (popcorn, cheese plate, the usual bar noms), but they do partner with local restaurants that will deliver if you want something more substantial. They offer most of the brews in multiple sizes, so you can easily get however much (or little) you want, and prices were quite reasonable. Not having food menu is anbissue but you can order pizza from Broken Trees a block away. They deliver. Just place your order at the counter. It was a great event. Lion's Tail is in a historic building in Downtown Neenah. The building gives this place a ton of character. Lion's Tail does not serve food; however, you can order things to be delivered (including Broken Tree Pizza). They have several local breweries on tap in addition to their own. Their offerings change regularly and are updated on a chalkboard in the main section of the bar. This place is definitely worth a stop. read more

Super cute micro brewery - I absolutely love the building! It has all of its original features and has a comfy cozy charm to it. There are multiple rooms and various nooks in the brewery which is nice, I like that it's not one enormous room. They also have a decent amount of board games to play :) I would definitely recommend the Juice Cloud IPA! read more

Great rotating beer selection including some guest taps. Neat atmosphere with a few separate rooms in an old renovated bank. Pretty family-friendly (we visited with our two kids and didn't have any issues), with board games and a few other bar games (shuffleboard and hook-ring). Local restaurants deliver here, or you can carry in your own food. I think it's probably capable of getting a 5-star rating, but I didn't stay long enough to try enough beers and really experience the customer service. Recently came to Lions tail for a wedding after party. The wedding party had rented out the space so it was all to ourselves. This place is a nice size, offers a great selection of draft beers, cocktails and entertain bar games. What's really cool about it is that it looks like the space is a refurbished bank so there is a little room where the bank vault use to be; with the vault doors still in place. I loved my two visits to Lions Tail. I'll talk about the "boring" stuff first. I hit it off with the employees here and really enjoyed talking to them about their great beers. Even the other customers were in great moods; this is a good place to chat with other people. I also like that you can order food from a couple local restaurants. I was able to sit in the back room with my computer, order Pizza and beers and have a pleasant and productive evening. Now, on to their beers. They have a wide variety and managed to excel at most of it. Their two New England IPA's were packed with flavor and had a wonderful mouth feel. Their stouts (maple and barrel aged specifically) were excellent and I couldn't get enough. There were a couple I was not a fan of, but that was personal preference. This is an easy brewery to recommend. I hope I can see the day their product is on store shelves. read more

Excellent beer selection and great prices! A four-beer flight is $7. Can't go wrong there! Two minor complaints: 1) they do not serve food, but you can get food delivered in or bring your own carry out. 2) it's a little closed off. There are three separate rooms to sit in, but you have to order from the bar. The most up-to-date beer list can be found on the chalkboards in the bar room. All in all, it's a pretty good brewpub--but it's brand new and does have some growing pains. I'm looking forward to going back. read more

The room was inviting. As we entered we were surrounded by tables filled with happy customers. It was unfortunate that I had to wait nearly 10 minutes to get my first drink because the bartender was not very attentive. We enjoyed the beer and the bourbon. When we tried to ordered our second round we were told the bar was closing, this was at 10pm, with nearly 40 customers in the bar... if I were the owner I would have been very upset that my bartender would send all the money out the door. We're currently sitting at the bourbon bar next door and being joined one by one of our fellow patrons trickling out of the Lions Tail due to its premature closing. Guy must hate money. read more
