This place has quite the tap list! It was a struggle to narrow my flight to 4 choices. In the end I picked a beer from each of the different styles listed. I enjoyed all my beers and ordered an extra, an Oktoberfest that was very good, Marzen style. There is a large outdoor patio, large bar inside and with several tables lining the wall. QR codes were out for ordering nearby food to be delivered and looked like they had frozen pizzas available to order. Would come back again next time I'm in Oshkosh. read more

Four for the Fifth Ward Much better than the last time It's sour heavy Last time I was here was the summer of 2020. Great year for me despite the masks. Remember there being no AC and kind of grungy. The neighborhood is still kind of grungy, but the AC is kicking and seems like they have remodeled. No iPhone chargers if you are in need. But, they do have plugins under the bar. Probably more than half of their menu is sours. Good, but can only drink so many without getting heartburn these days. Just 4 IPAs out of the 30 they have on tap. For me, a drawback. Only fitting that my first review is for my favorite brewery! I've been going here since they opened the doors to public in late 2017. Flavors are always deep and forward. A Must go-to if visiting Oshkosh. I've visited more than 100 breweries and Fifth Ward beer still ranks as a top pick for me! Ian and Zach have pumped out great beer recipes and have a selection anyone can find something they will love. My uncle who historically only drinks Coors Light found a beer he loved at Fifth Ward. Over the years they have been more in favor kettle sour beers and making and promoting fad beers, but luckily still make some beer beers. My favorites are Hades Secret a chocolate mint porter and Hot Donna a Red IPA and the flagship beers Burl Brown, 842 Pale Ale, and Comb and Crocus. If you're not sure what you like the beer tenders are very knowledgeable about the brews and you can get a flight or small pours. Nice outdoor bar and beer garden with ample bike racks. They frequently have live music or comedy shows. Always a clean environment, even the bathrooms are consistently spotless and they provide feminine products for free in the bathrooms which is always a plus. Vinyl nights are always a chill time. They have many board and card games free to use and they used to do game nights and had a fun cribbage, bags, and liars dice competition for a few years even! Very dog friendly place! Favorite brewery ever! My favorite beer is a Red IPA they call Hot Donna. They put out great IPAs too like Haze It Or Love It. They are very dog friendly and have a enjoyable beer garden. In Oshkosh for work and wanted to grab a drink so stopped here. I was alone and sometimes places can be intimidating when you are a woman alone dining or drinking by yourself. Not here! The bartender was pleasant and informative. The couple next to me was chatty which was welcomed. I did a flight and all 4 were amazing, which is rare for me to think, normally I leave half of one or two, but not these! Drank them all! Lemon Drupe was my favorite so I took a 4-pack home. I sampled one of their beers at a different venue and it kegged out. So I decided to visit the brewery and bring home a crowler if it's still available. And my wish came true! I got their Tangerine Dream Frootenanny kettle sour and it was delicious! On Saturday at 5:30p, the taproom was buzzing but not noisy. It was busy but not crowded. The place was cozy and had plenty of seatings by the bar or at high top tables in the room. Various types of Wisconsin beers (their own or guest taps) were on tap and crowlers were available for purchase. The taproom doesn't have a kitchen but Village Pub Pizza can be delivered to the taproom if you are hungry. read more

Their big outdoor patio is fun for a game of bags or to kick back in the sun with some pals. This is very close to the Menominee Arena, so stop in before or after your event. These young brewers are doing something right. I did not give 5 stars because their menu is limited to frozen pizza. Well... I'm visiting Milwaukee for the next 3 days with some friends and thought that I'd seen all the great local spots. We were referred here by some people and thought...why not let's try it. Wow! Very pleasantly surprised. This place has a great atmosphere, great variety of beers and great service. We tried the flights and had some food brought to our table. Customer service is an essential thing for any business. When you walk up to the bar to get a beer and the bartender looks you away it's a shame. The really tall guy in the pitter patter shirt needs a lesson on customer service. He reminds me of someone I'd see on bar rescue where John Taffer yells at him to quit drinking and talking and start working. The beer was good and that's the reason for 2 stars. If I was owner here I'd have a conversation with the big guy and explain how you meet, greet, and bartend. Doubt we'll be back due to this experience. Do yourself a favor drive out of town to Bare Bones and get treated like a customer not a stranger. read more

I had a very nice evening here while traveling for work. I really liked vibe the building has. From the good lighting to wood bar top; it felt like a nice place to be. The staff is very awesome and friendly and they are very passionate about their beer. I got to try their delicious pale ale and kettle sour. They had their anniversary Flanders banana Stout that was very interesting and I'm glad I got to try it. Overall it was a great place to relax and enjoy some good beer. read more

Oshkosh! You're so lucky to have Fifth Ward! Another solid brewing in Northeastern, WI, located on South Main St...not too far from the new Menominee Nations Arena. The bar area is long, with plenty of high tables along the wall. Along with about at least 10 of their own beers, they have a few guest taps from other WI breweries (way to support other breweries!). A big highlight is their outdoor patio. There's a bar, and four tables with umbrellas for shade. They allow dogs there and even have a little area to throw that doggy-doo-doo. There are three sets of cornhole (bags) boards that you can bring out yourself and play with. If you're not into that there's a wall of board and card games. Oh my gosh, I almost forgot about the beer! I really enjoyed all the beers I had. The highlights were the "Take Chances Ride Fast" Session IPA. Very easy to drink and a good starter for someone who doesn't like IPAs but wants to try one. The other was the Cherry Limefeld sour ale. Don't be intimidated by this one. It wasn't really that sour, but very refreshing and also easy to drink. I think their most unique beer was the Burl Brown Ale, which has a big cinammon smell, but not overpowering in taste. You taste more of the molasses and maltiness of the beer. I'm very excited to make another trip down to Oshkosh. read more

Extremely flat service. A near zero customer experience. I was excited to try new things but decided to get one drink and leave.

My wife and I love this place. She's not even a big beer drinker but their sour beers which they call "Frootenanny" Beers are just the best tasting things ever and we both love them. The raspberry pie one they have right now is just amazing. They aren't super sweet like some "slushie sour" and "pastry sour" styles so we've had, so they don't have a bad hangover from drinking them. They also have really good IPAs like haze it or love it, it's just hoppy enough to bring a little of the herbal bite without being too over the top. The bartender's there are also extremely friendly and come check on you often. Big fan of this place. read more

I offer this review up as constructive criticism with the intent that this feedback helps improve a local business. The beer should be cold not the service. Nobody wants a pompous pitcher of pilsner. A big head belongs on top of a good mug, not the bartenders shoulders. Nonchalant aloofness is typically received as disregarding by a patron. Last night was my 4th attempt at enjoying this bright, sterile, echo chamber of a watering hole, and once again I found it to be vary off putting / un hospitable. My one beer "Two man job" was good but not worth the price of admission. Please secure the tables to the walls somehow. At $1.00 a liquid Oz I shouldn't have to worry about wearing my beverage because the table keeps wiggling as we play connect 4. I'm sure those rickety slender bent metal legs work fine on coffee tables, however I don't think they were meant for bar table applications. read more
