I finally made it to the newest Kroger's. Pulling into the…read moreparking lot my first thought was this place is huge ! Although I will say I found it odd that there's only one way to enter and exit. Of course they have a Starbucks . My first stop was the bakery no big surprise there . They do have individual single portions of dessert . Like a fruit tart or a jumbo cakecup. I got a piece of the Dubai inspired chocolate cake (4.99). I found the cake to be slightly dry but the pistachio filling was really good ! The deli counter was literally crowded within a couple of minutes . The produce department was my next stop and I was able to find fresh pearl onions . Everything looked nice and fresh . The store is clean and well lit . The employees are friendly and helpful. They still have Christmas candy! We live downtown so the Kroger on Euclid is most convenient for us to go to but I'll say I enjoyed the change of scenery. I went through self check out and was out in no time. There's a huge parking lot so no problems parking .

I know, our liquor laws are crazy, and there are a ton of them. I think that this is the cheapest place in town to find alcohol. It seemed like everything was on sale! We were here last night, on a bourbon hunt. They have a lot of rare bourbons that even the Liquor Barns don't carry. We walked away with a bottle of Blanton's, the bourbon that has the metal horse on the top. They have a ton of the sample bottles too... even Blanton's. They were offering a free tasting of Evan Williams cherry and honey bourbons. Even though I wasn't a fan of either, it was nice to be able to sample them.

The building has been repainted to look like a lowball glass filled with margarita. Yes, it's the coolest thing ever. I did want to enter but there was a no guns sign and I'm not having that. So I took my pictures and departed. The building is not a great neighborhood with entirely too many pedestrians around for me to feel comfortable. But a quick look and a picture? Yep, I'll do that. Unfortunately, Manchester Liquor did not carry my drink of choice. They asked if I would leave my number. Two days later, I received a text, including a message and photo. Manchester Liquor now stock my drink. It suddenly occured to me, the larger liquor stores, don't give that quality of customer service. I will be returning. The atmosphere and layout are pretty awesome.

I was the only person in the store and I wasn't sure what I was doing and they were rude and I've lived in Lexington for 58 years. I've been coming to the liquor store on all my life and I have never ever had anyone be as rude and disrespectful for anyone with a disability and anyone that doesn't have the knowledge of liquor so you know, pardon me, Leestown liquor from now on I'll just go up to Kroger and have a good day
