I found that this liquor store seems to have the best prices in Lexington. Liquor barn will price match so keep that in mind if you were a liquor barn goer. I also find that their cigars seem to be fresher than other liquor store selling cigars. If you're looking for something special, your best chance of finding it to be going to this liquor store. read more

Rude very rude. been in here a couple of times and was very disrespectful every time, we went in tonight and when we got to check out my husband couldn't find his ID and we didn't realize we didn't have ID until check out. I really like this store when I'm hoping to try something new, looking for a gift for someone, etc. The store is huge, well organized, and the staff tends to be really helpful if I have questions or need help locating something. They always have sales running as well. There used to be regular tasting events that were so much fun to attend, but I haven't noticed anything like that more recently. The Total Wine is in Lexington Green in the location where the Whole Foods Grocery had been located. The store is really organized by product type and has great selections of wine and bourbons. The store is stocked well and has removed all Russian Vodka! The isles are nice and wide and the store is easy to navigate around. I was pleased with the large wine selections that this store carries. This will be added to my current return store list. read more

I just had to share, because this was such a wonderful experience. I come here because it is the best price in town for adult drinks. When I walked in today, the room was full of venders with samples and smiling faces. A store associate named York, immediately greeted me and asked how she could help. I told her I was going to get some gin after some samples. She told me she would get my gin while I sampled, so I didn't have to walk over there. What wonderful service! Thank you York! Ed, who was doing the wine sampling was so sweet and helpful. Kenya checked me out with such sweetness and you could tell she truly enjoys her job. In The Lexington Green Mall area, in the old Whole Foods location, TW was a welcomed addition to the area. I boycotted Liquor Barn months ago, which makes me even more appreciative of TW and now my liquor mega store of choice. I'd been to other TWs out west and even the one in Louisville. Like the one in Louisville, our Lexington location has THE BEST bourbon selection. They have a wine chilling mechanism near the first checkout lane. Just dip and, boom... it's chilled. My husband loves their cigar selection. They have a humidor room. You walk in and choose the cigar of your choice from the variety of boxes and then grab a ziplock bag by the humidor room door. As if all of that goodness isn't enough, another Lexington Total Wine location is set to open. read more

I love liquor stores and bookstores so the fact that this place is in the same shopping center and a Lexington Classic Bookstore may bump it up a half star. :) I was impressed from the moment I walked in the door. I liked layout and the presentation. There were lots of staff on hand in every section. The prices were great! Selection was amazing. They have single selections of beers so if you want to try something new you do not have to commit to a six pack. I was here on a Saturday and had a wine tasting. I liked them all but bought one. I love this new store! I am so glad that something big went into the old Whole Foods location in Lexington Green. I love Lexington Green. Anyway, this store is huge!!! 8,000 wines!! You are sure to find everything you are looking for, and more!! They have a tasting booth in the middle of the store with a few wines to sample. I tried one of Talon Winery's mango wines and it was so good. I had to pace myself going through the store. I found something I wanted to buy in every aisle. Wow!! That's the first thing that I said when I walked in. It's as if the Wine Gods where singing. It's a little overwhelming with so many choices than that I'm used to of other liquor stores. Wines where separated out by countries and then types. After we got over the shock and awe of the wine selection we moved to the beer section, again, Wow!! They had rare beer releases and they too had their beer sorted by country and then types. The Spirits section was typical sorted by types and also some by country. Have been a fan of Total Wine that I have visited in other cities. When we notice this store on a visit, decided to stop and get a few bottles of wine that are not available where we live. The layout is nice and easy to find types of wine you are interested in. The staff was very friendly and stopped to ask if we wanted any assistance. They also have some wines labeled as favorites of some of the staff and a few notes on some of the wines. The do have some wine tastings to learn about a few wines almost daily if you are there during that time. If you are interesting in wines or learning more this is a great place to stop and buy. read more

An employee asked me if he could help me find something. I said I was looking for a sweet wine for my wife. These are the two he suggested they both taste like vinegar and aren't sweet at all. Their selection is ok but the employee that was "helping" me was an a**hole trying to wag his tail or buff his halo by selling someone something that they clearly didn't want. We received a couple of recommendations on wines and decided to try those out. The location is convenient being right off Nicholasville road. Wonderful wine selection! The staff is usually very helpful with suggestions of their favorites & pointing you in the direction of what you're looking for. You can make your own beer 6-pack. They also have wine tastings (some are free) or they have events (cost varies) for beer/wine/bourbon classes. They have a chiller next to the registers so you can quickly chill a bottle of wine (takes 5-10 minutes) while you do the rest of your shopping. read more

I go here because of the prices, and the excellent selection of local wines. But when I was asked if I had a rewards I was unsure if my husband had preciously signed up. So the cashier, R was her initial, checked and instead of telling me no I do not have one she asked my email and proceeded to sign me up Without asking me if I wanted to be signed up. No clue what the reward entailed at all, I had to of course look it up when I received and email saying I had signed up. Corner to corner, top to bottom, pretty much anything wine, spirit, or beer related. I like how they have the wine section broken down by types of wine and other sections of wine by country. They have all the local Lexington beers plus a bunch from around the county. The bourbon selection is fantastic. In the middle of the store they have a few wines available to taste. There is also a back room you can either take wine or bourbon classes. Total Wines prices are the lowest I've seen in Lexington with the best selection available. read more

Super prices. Awesome staff. Huge selection. We spent about an hour strolling around checking out all the wines and spirits we haven't seen in other stores. The prices can't be beat! Wines that I normally buy at other places were at least $3-4 cheaper here! Also I compared some spirits that I had bought at Costco and the prices were the same and better in some cases! We stocked up for winter. I also bought a case of mixed wines for an event I am hosting this month. The prices just couldn't be beat. I love Trader Joe's but find wine for $2.97 a bottle here that had raving reviews and wasn't sweet! Wishing there was one closer to home but for now, I will be sure to stop by anytime I am in the area. read more

Oh my where to start! This is by far the best liquor store I've ever walked into! It can be a little overwhelming at first but I just walked all of it till I found what I needed and even a few things I didn't plan to purchase. They have each wine organized by type and in abc order so it's easy to find what you want. The beer selection is phenomenal. If you need party supplies such as glow cups, flask, special occasion coozies (not even sure how you spell that HA), pong balls etc available too. After a truly horrendous experience with Instacart, I decided to place an online order yesterday direct from the Total Wine & More website. After filling my cart I was given a variety of dates and times to choose from. I selected today with a time frame of between 9am and 1pm. My order arrived promptly at 10am and with "contactless delivery" - which is a complete relief at this surreal time of the coronavirus. I foresee a long-term relationship with this store. read more

If you order online to pick up and then show up without your license the manager named Zej there will not give you your order, even with work photo ID and other proof of identity. On a recent visit I realized at check out that I must have dropped my driver's license in the grocery store just before I got there to pick up an order. The manager was called and refused every form of ID imaginable, not because I might be a minor (I'm clearly not) but because he said I couldn't prove who I was even though I told him what was in the box and had photo ID! What?? What a waste of time! Calling customer service refunded my money but says it'll take 7-10 days What?? Bad experience all the way around. read more

Great liquor store. The prices are really good compared to other local liquor stores. They have a huge selection of of liquor, beer and most of all wine. They offer tasting events which is in their own private room in the back of the store. If you are into barrel picks of different liquor they do a pretty good job of have these available. It's not something where you can request what liquors they get but they have a wide variety of the ones that they do pick. I wish they had a better system of letting customers know what's going on, I have the app but it doesn't always list things that they are doing. read more

Very friendly staff and excellent selection for almost anything one could ever need makes this a top notch business. Most importantly the prices are great. Almost all of their wine selections are 3-5 dollars off the nearest competition. Spirits I don't buy, but beer....craft or otherwise is cheaper as well. Selection is great for all. Let's put it this way....when Kroger found out this place was opening they started giving fuel points at the wine and spirits shops, but if one does the math you are far ahead of the game buying here because the savings are FAR better. read more
