There's 50 stars on the flag of America , Springhurst should have no less than that. A young lady, maybe in her 20s....think all the employees were calling her "Niner", she was the biggest help. Was torn between a bottle of Nudu, Nulu, something like that or some New Riff Backsetter and she quickly helped me decide the New Riff would best suit my pallet. They have an amazing selection of stuff to buy but the employee I had ring me out was rude. I was followed around the store, I'm aware I look young but if you have an issue or something then come up to me and ask me, don't follow me around. Then the same man rang me out when I went to check out and he was rude. Asked for my ID, then when I gave it to him, he looked me up and down with the most disgusted face, then scanned my id and quite literally threw my drinks into the bag. I love Liquor Barn. Like, SERIOUSLY love Liquor Barn. There are a lot of options for adult beverages in greater Louisville, but after trying many, many options, Liquor Barn shines as my absolute favorite. Each time I walk in the door it's as if the clouds part, the sun shines down on the Craft Beer taps, and a choir of angels sings to me. This location is the closest to my house, which is both good and bad. Good because it's about a 10 minute drive. Bad because it's ONLY a 10 minute drive. :) First up, the aesthetics. You're greeted by the current/seasonal beverages, usually thematically displayed with the current season. This location is newer than the location I used to frequent, and has a very contemporary, comfortable atmosphere without feeling warehouse-y. At the left side of the store is Craft Beer Central. Here you will find a countless variety of craft beers in every style what I'm willing to be is hundreds of craft breweries from all around the country. IPAs. Stouts. Pilsners. Ales. Lagers. SO many to chose from. To one side are shelves of six- and twelve-packs of beers, as well as bombers. There is about a 16-foot section of singles for build-your-own-six-pack evenings (which I tend to favor). Along the back wall are the beer coolers sporting domestics and craft beers in an endless variety to style and flavor. For me, however, the shining star is the growler bar. Here you can pull up a bar stool and sample any one of (I think) 16 different craft beers. The current selections are on the flat screens and there is a printed list as well. You can get 2 oz samples and you can get a full pint (but keep in mind you're limited as to how much you can consume) at varying prices. The 2 oz samples range (on a current visit) from $.75 to $3.00. This is where the fun takes place, because you can sample several in your search for something to fill your growler. The staff at the growler bar is very knowledgeable and helpful, and their guidance has helped me find the right beer during those times that I couldn't make up my mind because of what I'm going to call "Craft beer decision overload". Eventually I always walk out with either a mix-my-own-six or a growler of something I haven't had before, and I always walk out knowing I made a good decision (if buying beer for a Friday night can be labeled a "good decision") and that I'll like what I'm taking home. If I lived closer out this way...it would really be a toss up whether I would go to Total Wine or this Liquor Barn for my imbibing needs. As it stands, this Liquor Barn is across the parking lot from the Tinseltown movie theater. We have stopped in several times before a movie showing to browse or grab something to bring home after. Primarily on those visits, I have stuck to the wine aisles or the bourbon. This last visit, we ventured in to the beer aisles. And y'all...I was convinced that nothing could beat Old Town or the Beer Store for beer selections. But Liquor Barn could certainly throw their hat in to that ring of competition! Color me surprised! We stopped in after our anniversary dinner and the Fella wanted to poke around. I am not lying when I say I could have spent $100 on beer alone that night (if I had an extra hunnit bucks to spend on fancy beer...). And not cheap-o beer....but like, 8 bottles tops of interesting and tasty sounding beer I have never seen before! What a lovely find! In any case, I left with three bottles of more mid-ranged beers, price-wise. And I am excited to try them! They some times have in-store tastings, as well. One visit saw them with three or four different tastings, sometimes just one set up near the entrance. I think these generally happen around the 7:00 hour, should you be interested. Went here for grand opening. Several good samples of coffee, tequila, and wine. Went to beer bar, had trouble getting the bartenders attention even though he was not very busy. Finally got served, and tasted a couple of great beers. Great selection of liquors, and specialty beers. As I start my review, the draft I'm working from is before they moved locations. I used to love this place for a few different reasons. It quickly became my favorite Liquor Barn in the city. Reason 1: The bourbon selection tended to include things that weren't available at other stores and barns. Reason 2: Their craft beer singles selection was impressive as far as Liquor Barns go-I would find things here that were never available at Old Town and Beer Store. They're still in the same shopping center but they recently moved. I'm not sure why because I don't think space was an issue. I'm giving this place 4 stars for a few reasons. Some of the prices are a few dollars higher here than other places. My other annoyance is that I don't find myself stopping in here as often as I used to. I would normally stop in here each time I went to the movies out there. They used to have all the beer singles together. It was a convenient way to browse their selection. Since the move, they threw all of the beer together and it's not organized in any certain way. Most of the singles are spread out and on the end-caps. I don't buy 4 or 6 packs so having all the singles separated isn't convenient or efficient for me. I will say that when you do find a good single.. it feels like you've struck gold since the singles aren't organized. I might stop in here every now and then to see if things change. Since the location/layout change, it's not on my list of musts when I'm in the area. The last time I was in there, I found some decent singles. The person in charge of their beer inventory there is still doing an A+ job. If you never visited this Liquor Barn before the move, then give this place a chance. This unassuming strip mall liquor store packs some punch. Not only are they fully stocked on all things booze, but they have extras that make your trip a complete experience. Like tonight's personal favorite, the beer sample bar (bring your own 64 oz 'growler' container and bring home your choice of specialty tap beer hard to find at your local watering hole). My husband and I randomly came to this store since we were passing through to go to the bourbon trail. It must have been his lucky day because he saw the whisky that he had been looking for over 2 years right when we entered the building. He was grinning from ear to ear because he could not believe his own eyes! We walked over to the tasting area and had to sample the Hibiki 12 Year and Yamazaki 12 Year. The tasting for each was $5.99. Such a great deal because these bottles go for over a couple hundred dollars online! The Yamazaki is so good and goes down so smoothly. I am not a whisky drinker at all but this one was amazing! I now understand what the hype is all about! Liquor Barn carried both of these whiskys, so of course, my husband had to snag a couple bottles of these before leaving. The prices for these 2 bottles were unbelievably great because they did not mark them up as much as we thought they would be! My husband was such a happy camper! He was like a little kid at a candy store. I had to yank him out before he kept on buying! LOL Aside from this, the store has a great selection of wines, beers, and of course whisky and bourbon! Ask for Ray at the store! He is incredibly nice and knows so much about his spirits. He knows a lot about the products that he carries! I recently worked the Chocolate Takeover event at this Liquor Barn location and I am definitely a fan. They have a great selection and seem to host fun events on a regular basis. The store is clean and organized, and I think shopping here would be quick and easy. The staff was super friendly! They were very helpful throughout the event and they helped me personally when I needed a place to change my t-shirt. This location is comparable to other Liquor Barn locations I have visited, so I wouldn't recommend driving out to this one specifically if you have something closer to you; but, if you're in the area and need to shop for beverages, party supplies, or gifts I would definitely recommend this Liquor Barn. read more

I really enjoy the selection Liquor Barn has to offer! I believe this one is the one I pass by most often, so it's usually the one I stop at. When you first enter this Liquor Barn, you see a beautiful bar set up, where you are able to sample a few different things. I've never tried this before, though. One thing I love about Liquor Barn is their layout. They have wine/wine coolers/margarita mix/etc on one side, whiskey and bourbon in the center, and beer on the other side. You can get everything from cheap to super expensive here. They also have a lot of different mixers, flavorings, sodas, juices, snacks, etc. Things are well organized and well stocked. The selection here is pretty massive and can easily be overwhelming, but the staff is always very helpful and give great recommendations. They gave me a suggestion for a wine when I was looking for my dad a birthday gift. He loved it, and it's now one of his favorites! This Liquor Barn is a bit smaller than the one I first went to that is in Middletown, but it's still great and I enjoy stopping in here occasionally! read more

The first thing you notice as you enter the store is a huge bar area where you may sample hundreds of spirits brands(for a small charge) Then there is a large walk in cigar humidor offering everything from inexpensive cigars to Top shelf picks that are usually missing from cigar stores. Since I was only there for some cigars I did not get a cart and that turned out to be a mistake. Soon found myself walking around the store and found so many good deals that I had to go get a cart. We drove for a hour and a half from Cincinnati to this specific Liquor Barn Springhurst #980 on the outskirts of Louisville. Although we could have gone to many other Liquor Barns in Louisville and Lexington, we specifically chose this location based on the customer reviews. Let me state the following without and doubt or bias; 1. They have an excellent collection of bourbon, whiskey, vodka, wines, liquors, tequila and beer. The place is huge and you need to take your time to explore. 2. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. We had at least 4 people coming and asking if we needed any help or assistance. I do not understand why some reviewers were complaining about customer service. These folks aim to please and it is obvious that they want for everyone to have a great experience shopping at their Liquor Barn. 3. Depending on what you are looking for, some items may be a little pricey, they may cost a few dollars more than what you are accustomed to pay. However, you also need to check their closeout sections for both hard liquor and wines. I found some excellent bargains and felt like a kid in a candy store. 4. I bought some beer glasses that were 50% off and some authentic single molt scotch glasses. I was very pleased with their quality and appearance. 5. They have an excellent selection of cigars. I am not a smoker but I bought some high end cigars for my friends, so that I could give them as Christmas gifts. 6. I love their beer selection which allowed me to purchase some beers I have never tried before. I have been tasting them for the last three days and I am in seven heaven. 7. My friends and I just finished hanging out at Drakes, and afterwards decided to go to Target for last minute grocery list. Next to Target was this Liquor Barn, which we never noticed before. You can see people sitting inside on a bar, and it looked like they were having a good time, so we decided to stop in. We were so glad we stopped by. They had bourbon and beer sampling. The bartender was extremely nice. He also informed us of different samples they usually have paired with small snacks/cheese. It became another fun stop for us. I was immediately greeted by the sweetest girl working named Taylor who started asking me questions about the people I was buying for to assist me. Liquor Barn, oh how I love thee. While it won't compete with the convenience of your local gas station's beer aisle, it will blow away the selection of not only your favorite obscure booze flavors, but your snacks, smokes, and party stylings all under one oversized roof. I frequent this establishment primarily for two reasons: the select in of local wines (they happen to stock River Bend Winery's Bourbon Barrel Wine, my go-to) and the growler-filling wall (Southern Tier's Pumking is the favorite this time of year). Both are spectacular and to my knowledge cannot be found elsewhere around town. I've always found the staff to be friendly and very helpful, especially on the growler wall. This store has the most impressive selection of beverages and supplies that I have seen!! I always end up buying something new that I never knew existed. I used to drive around town trying to find my favorite wine and being disappointed because it was always out of stock. One day I tried looking for it at Liquor Barn and they had it! Now, if I ever need to buy anything I come straight here. The only reason I don' give them 5 stars is because the checkout line is always ridiculous and they have only one person at the cash register. This Liquor Barn location was specifically recommended for its Bourbon selection by one of the local bourbon distillers. I drove 20 minutes out of Louisville based solely on that recommendation. While they did not have my Weller bourbon I met Eli who took me to their bar and educated me on Rye Whiskey with half-pours. Eli rocked and made a retail experience an extension of my distillery tours. This kind of experience is what helps retail experience stay relevant.
