Riverside sells cigars, but you can bring cigars here and take drinks there. If you're in Louisville and looking for a place to smoke a cigar, head to Match. During a Bourbon Trail excursion I discovered Louisville isn't fond of cigar lounges. But luckily Jeffersonville is directly across the bridge, so if you have transportation you can be there in 10 min. Match is a decent size; they have a full bar, small outdoor section, good music and decent cigar selection. The staff was very helpful and the space is pretty clean. Nothing I tried was overpriced and I would highly recommend fellow stogie lovers to give them a try. read more

Visiting Louisville for Scottish Rite-NMJ. Couldn't believe there was not a cigar bar in Louisville. Drove across the 2nd street bridge and literally 50-feet from the river found this gem. Outstanding selection of cigars and bourbon! I had a Perdomo Lot 23 and paired it with a barrel pick of Knob Creek. Great choice! Bartender was incredibly knowledgeable. Awe I've posted prior reviews and have to give less stars this year. Humidor is basic with old inventory. No Aficionado top 25 in inventory. The staff is nice but not really helpful to sell top choices. He's just sitting at the desk no effort. Maybe it's because we are SOTLs. The guy at the door is super nice. Furniture needs an upgrade a bit broken down. I would not call this upscale. Oh but when two good ol boys come in he enters the humidor and chats them up :( read more

He has the conversational skills of Joe Rogan. If you're 21 like me and a complete nerd, he'll vibe with you. If you're an anime fan, he will know about that. Need good drink or cigar recommendations? He's got that covered. Car talk, finding what to have to drink, video games, etc etc. If it's something you can talk about, he can keep the conversation going. The owner is super cool, imagine the dude from pawn stars but not a scam artist and 100x cooler, that's the owner. I didn't talk to Kelon(sorry if I misspelled your name) much, but he's still cool. All the bartenders I've encountered in the two times I've been here(as of this review) really know their shit. Not to mention the gentleman that owns the cigar shop next door, who is also super knowledgeable. The atmosphere is super lowkey, calm, and classy. I would almost compare it to a high end speakeasy but their prices are also super great, anyone of any economic status can enjoy themselves here. I found this place via Yelp on my way back north from Louisville, easily the most random almost out of place little gem in Kentuckiana. You get the old world nostalgia, plush couches, flatscreens and a bunch of cool people just chillin. I can't even call it a hole in the wall because it is pretty huge, and its crazy nice inside!. I don't smoke, but I like the smell of smoke. Weird, I know. My boyfriend, myself and one of his friends visiting from out of town went here last week. It was my first time. The establishment was able to sidestep the 'no smoking in bars' rule by having the smoke shop and bar areas in two different rooms, separated by a large door. Due to this, and the fact that you can smoke in either room, smoke permeates the entire atmosphere. I know zilch about cigars, but they seemed to have a large selection and the guy working knew his stuff. As he puffed on a cigar of his own of course! My bf was asking questions and the employee was giving him recommendations based on his budget, which was super nice! The register has a complimentary cigar cutter patrons can use to trim the ends of their cigars if they want to smoke. After both boys bought their cigars, we wandered to the 'bar' section of the establishment. Plenty of booth style seating were available, along with a couple of long tables, and recliner style chairs in front of a TV. I thoroughly enjoyed people watching, especially a gentleman who was slowly texting on a flip phone. You go, man! I grabbed a Chimay beer from the bar because it's a delicious beer and I felt like treating myself. $12, pretty normal for that beer. We lingered for about 45 minutes, mainly because they were closing soon and we didn't want to be THOSE people who force employees to stay at work longer than they need to. All-in-all, a neat place, even for those who don't smoke or know nothing about it. It's a totally different culture and a hobby that seems relaxing, but don't forget - smoking and second hand smoke are bad for your health! read more

In town on a busy weekend, we made our way to Match for my one and only visit there, and it just didn't go well... Granted, it was a busy weekend. It was full, but not packed. We walked in with our own cigars. First stop - the bar - to get a drink and sense of fees (if any), and a light for my stogie. There was only one bartender who was noticeably struggling to service the full bar. The poor guy was cursing under his breath and working a good sweat. While there were only 3 people "in line" ahead of us, we stood there for 15 minutes. So we decided to grab a couple open chairs in the lounge, light up and get a drink when the bar cleared. We lit up, and kicked back. Not even 5 minutes goes by, and the guy in the cigar shop comes over and asks, "are you planning on buying anything?". I didn't quite understand and it was loud, so said "i'm sorry, I didn't catch that?". In the loudest, rudest voice, so others could hear, he blurts "ARE YOU GOING TO BUY ANYTHING?" Taken aback, I said, "Yes, we were going to have a drink. But the bartender had his hands full so we sat down and were going to get a drink." He replies, "you have to buy something to sit here." So.... I get up, walk over to the bar and stand in line for a drink. I waited for 10 minutes before the bartender took my order. He apologized, said they were short staffed, etc. When I returned to our seats, the humidor guy was standing over my buddy again. I asked if everything was okay, and my buddy gives me a look like, "let's get the eff out of here". The humidor guy gruffly walks away. Apparently, the humidor guy got impatient, figured we were going to skip out, and was telling my buddy that if he didn't buy something, he would have to leave. He walked away after he saw the two drinks in my hand. At that point, we pounded our drinks, got up and left. I gave the bartender a good tip, gave a dirty look to the guy manning the humidor and walked out. Bad luck, bad timing? Possibly. But I won't go back. That guy manning the humidor was a total jerk. read more

Frequent flyer here to Kentucky & I've finally found "my spot". I was looking for a Cigar lounge in particular and I'm so glad I chose those place!! Upon walking in, I realized it was an urban and chill vibe. The owner greeted me right away & showed me where the cigars are kept. Nice cool areas, tons of fan favorites and a few cigars specifically made in Kentucky. Immediately cut and lit up my choice: Whiskey Rebellion. Proceeded to the bar area, grabbed an old fashion and took a seat on the couch to watch NBA basketball. Perfect night! I stayed for about two hours and couldn't wait to come back. Busy here on a cold winter night. Ordered the Elijah Craig bourbon to sip with The Tabernacle, a delicious cigar blended by AJ Fernandez. The Tabernacle has a Nicaraguan filler/binder and a beautiful Connecticut Maduro wrapper. This cigar will pair well with an espresso or Yamazaki whiskey, too. Finished off the night with a Weller, just as good as a Pappy van Winkle without the snob pricing. First things first, I checked out the humidor and loved the boutique selections. Once I grabbed a few sticks, I checked out and was treated very well by the gentleman working the register. I stepped over to the bar side and asked the bartender for a recommendation. He did a great job and I ended up ordering an Angel's Envy Finished Rye, which was delicious and paired well with my Viaje Exclusivo cigar. Round two I asked the female bartender about their house manhattan. She was able to explain tasting notes and nuances and assured me I would be happy with it. I ordered it and fell in love. Best manhattan I've ever had. Bar none. Overall, Match is an awesome spot, just a stone's throw from downtown Louisville. Very relaxed, welcoming vibe with great prices and a wonderful selection.
