This is a pretty cool liquor store as they have a ton of stuff, but what made it great was that we were able to pay for a small tasting of some bourbons to see if it's worth buying. The person helping us was super friendly.

I love Liquor Barn.  Like, SERIOUSLY love Liquor Barn.  There are a lot of options for adult beverages in greater Louisville, but after trying many, many options, Liquor Barn shines as my absolute favorite.  Each time I walk in the door it's as if the clouds part, the sun shines down on the Craft Beer taps, and a choir of angels sings to me. This location is the closest to my house, which is both good and bad.  Good because it's about a 10 minute drive.   Bad because it's ONLY a 10 minute drive.  :) First up, the aesthetics.  You're greeted by the current/seasonal beverages, usually thematically displayed with the current season.  This location is newer than the location I used to frequent, and has a very contemporary, comfortable atmosphere without feeling warehouse-y.   Eventually I always walk out with either a mix-my-own-six or a growler of something I haven't had before, and I always walk out knowing I made a good decision (if buying beer for a Friday night can be labeled a "good decision") and that I'll like what I'm taking home. (geez...this review makes me sound like a raging lush, but that's not the case at all.  I'm just very selective about what I drink on Friday nights, and Liquor Barn helps lead me down the path to better drinking.) Suffice it to say, Amazing selection, Helpful staff, and more Craft Beer than anywhere else in town. (this is an unsubstantiated claim, but could quite possibly be the truth.)

Need more stars. Visiting Louisville & decided to stock my home bar with stuff I can't get...well at home. Jon was beyond fabulous. Asked the right questions and then took care of me at all price points I was comfortable at. End result is a case of whiskey with high end talent and extremely palatable daily go tos. In sports parlance, I'm well stocked & below the salary cap. He's extremely knowledgeable & patient. Left feeling more like a friend helped me than a stranger. Can not recommend this place enough. The Russel's Barrel Select is going to toast a win soon. This trip was a major win.

If you look real quick, you will miss this particular Liquor Barn which sits right next to an Office Max. The reason why I say you will miss it is because obviously their sign is red but half the size larger that LB. The parking lot and outside perimeter of the store were neat and free of debris with the exception of an opened prophylactic sitting in its wrapper... Obviously this had absolutely no effect on me purchasing my tasty adult alcoholic beverages! The interior of the store was very clean, tidy and organized. There is a section devoted to those who are entertaining and need eatables to go along with different types of beverages. There are even single to-go snacks for the individual looking for a little sustenance. The layout of LB is VERY customer friendly from the beginner to the "Bourbon Badass", beer or "Wine-O". My main mission was to pick up WoodfordReserve new Straight Malt Whiskey. I also picked up some great Goodwood products Bourbon Barrel Stout & Red Wine Barrel Saison. Lastly, I selected some Against The Grain products that included: Double India Pale Ale, Extra American Pale Ale, A Low Down Golden Pale Ale, and a Lager Beer. The checkout process was very easy and pleasant. They LB associate was very engaging, pleasant and made us feel like we were VIPs! Note: If there are any chicks out there who would love to begin their journey within this fine states native spirit or are already a Bourbon Badass, visit the Whisky Chicks webpage/facebook. We do accept "Whisky Dudes".

Just a nice place to go...like waking through the museum of spirits...My Sweet Woman got what she wanted. Men...first date must do...just act like you know what your talking about....good bottle of wine goes along way

Only 1/3 of the bourbon selection. Yes, you read that right!

I love Liquor Barn! I miss it so much and tell everyone about it whenever they're bragging about whatever piddly store they're going to. No, my friend, you haven't been to a real liquor store until you've been to a Liquor Barn. It's the stuff of legends- a friend who lives in FL but frequents TN even knows of the place. You can find just about anything here. And I say just about because I didn't see some Russian vodkas that I find in Brooklyn, ice wine, or Gewurtztraminer (altho they do have other white German wines). I spent so much money on this last trip, but totally worth it. One associate recommended a bourbon cream that has been flying off the shelf- must be good because the next day my friends were telling me about it. Glad we grabbed a bottle! I noticed that they no longer have the deli, but now have a tasting station, which I have mixed feelings about. I love their food items, too, but I know that this makes more sense and allows people to try something (even Pappy Van Winkle) before committing to purchasing.

Great store! Lots of variety and good prices. I especially like the locations that sell cheese and other deli type products.

Well....what about a place that is all those things? Enter Evergreen Liquors. I came in during a weekday, so the place was very chill and relaxed. Not super busy at all. I was excited to see that they had the newly released Eagle Rare 12 Year, so I definitely had to order a pour of that. I was on my way to a tour, so I couldn't stay long. I grabbed my drink and walked around looking at all their bottles available. I was like a kid in a candy store. The drinking area is more like a vineyard or brewery tasting room feel to it vs. a cocktail lounge - at least in the early afternoon. But they told me the are open to 11pm. I really wish I stayed longer so I could come back to try more bourbons. If or when I'm coming back to Louisville, this is definitely on my short list of spots I have to re-visit.

You've got your choice of places to shop if you want to get your drink on. In the last year I've grown to appreciate this location of Cox's more and more. Not only is it less than a mile from my house, but the people that work here are AWESOME! They know right where the item I'm looking for is and they usually have great suggestions when I'm not sure. Being more of a craft beer drinker (read that: snob) I tend to like to find something new, and they've almost always got something new and intriguing to contribute to my Saturday morning hangover. The staff here is very friendly and very fun. They're quick with a joke and are genuinely pleasant, even with the Friday Evening Alcohol Run beating them up. The prices are always great, also, often being less than some of the bigger liquor outlets around. The next time you're in J-Town and need something to contribute to YOUR hangover, I wholeheartedly recommend Cox's Spirit Shoppe. They. Are. AWESOME.

Evergreen is located off Shelbyville Rd next Five Guys and there is parking in front of the store. The inside is very big and has just about everything you can imagine. I did have a little bit of a difficult time finding the the ticket sales but eventually found them. The store itself was doing the $15 pour of Sam Adams. It was in a special edition bottle (pictured) and I was told by the employee that the pour I received was 28% ABV (Hence why it's illegal in 14 other states) and it's only made every 2 years. My first sip of it, OMG probably the strongest liquor I ever tasted. I sipped very slowly and walked around the store and looked at what they had. This location is known to do special pours and releases of liquor and will have Facebook events advertised for it as well. Overall I was impressed with the layout of the store and like I said before you will most likely find what you need here. Staff was very awesome and knowledgeable of the limited edition release of Sam Adams. I'd come out here for special releases of other things but, I don't live close enough and I'm usually not off in time for work either but, I do find myself back here.
