Scheduled a private event birthday party with 21 guests for a Saturday night. It's located in a nice trendy location with plenty to check out before or after your event. Recommend getting in early to find parking. Thankfully they were quite accommodating for our folks who were late circling the block for a spot. The staff were very cool, affable, and attentive. The vibe was great, the staff's personalities set the perfect tone and the music was upbeat but unobtrusive. The cocktail crafting demonstrations were very enjoyable and the final products even more so. We chose a cocktail menu with a variety of spirits, I believe they rotate seasonally. I appreciate that they had good quality spirits and provided a little information on the distillers, history or chemistry that differentiated the cocktails. I did order the enhanced catering option as well as a cake, and everything was delicious! Shout out to Black Bird Catering. Yesterday, October 10, 2025 I went into the liquor lab and it was 9 PM. I had not had any drinks. I wanted to go to the fountain drink and I tried to get the flavors. I wanted it. The machine was frozen so I stopped the young lady that was working there, and I was telling her that the machine was defaulting And I was like it's OK I'll go and talk to the guy upfront because I realize she was serving the windows the drive-through well I went to the young man upfront. I usually go in there on my birthday and I tell them hey it's my birthday. Where's my free shot just for fun and they're very nice people while the young men are very nice people. I have no complaints about them but my encounter on 1010 2025. I could hear the young lady being very negative about my interest in the frozen machines so I spoke to him and I told him that the machines weren't working my reason for telling him this was because I did not want him to think I was wasting his Cups and so therefore, I let him know the problem with the machine. He also in return let me know that OK it will probably work in 24 hours on 1011 2025. I went back into the liquor lab love the place. They have great choices but The young lady I don't know if it's his wife or what is the relationship was very rude. I went back to the drink machine to get a frosty. Whatever you call it and in the mist of draining into my drink a bug came out, so I wanted them to know that a bug fluid was in the cup. It came out of the machine, and I told her a bug came into the cup. I didn't want to just throw it away to make them think I was wasting their inventory and she says it's just a mosquito and I was like isn't a mosquito a bug and she's like it's just a mosquito. I was like BUG it's a bug And I was just like I'm not gonna drink out of that so I went back and did another cup, and I let them know how I felt I thought that her attitude was not good. I told them that I thought she had a very nasty attitude and the guy that was in there Told me oh since you think that she has a nasty attitude we don't want you to buy anything you can just leave you don't have to purchase anything and I told him I said you know what in the time that I have been here I have never had a problem and I said I have never spoken to you in any Derogatory way or nasty way and I'm just like if she talks to me that way then why am I not able to say how I feel about the way she treated me as far as customer service he told me to put it back. Don't buy anything. We are not gonna serve you get out and I said I have never been treated like this before I have never treated you any other kind of way and he was like I don't care just leave. Just leave us at not a problem. I am just leaving. I thought the confrontation was not acceptable. I am an African-American woman. He is a I would say Indian descent, Asian Indian descent or he could've been any other kind of race that he is I felt like we had a good report before this young lady started being there, and I felt like there was so much misunderstanding and customer service to my regard was not addressed. I feel like the way he handled it to tell me to leave. Don't buy anything. Don't come back I feel like OK. I'm gonna put it on Facebook and I'm gonna let everyone know how you treated me because I have never been rude to them and I felt this rudeness was because of her rudeness. Please tell me what you think in the comments how I could've handled it differently because I feel like I was treated disrespectfully. read more

Joined my friend at Liquor Lab on a Thursday for a fun cocktail making class. We made three drinks (pictured) and they were all delicious! They would also work really well as non-alcoholic beverages. Before class started, we were treated to some chicken tenders from Royals, which was super helpful for a lightweight like me! I would definitely come back with a group of friends. Signed up for this class two weeks ago, planned an entire date night around Liquor Lab's Bourbon and Beyond. I'm talking childcare, dinner reservations, new outfits - the works. Got to Nulu early to walk around to random shops, then had a drink in the courtyard while waiting for this place to open up. Confirmation states doors open 20 minutes til start time at 6pm. There was a line of everyone who was planning to go to the class and there were no lights on. We stayed until 6:10, 30 mins AFTER the doors should have opened. No call No show. This was not a cheap experience at $130. Luckily we are way cooler than this place and walked right into the craftery next door. There is no way to contact anyone except thru email. This place is lame. Won't be back. read more

WHAT A BLAST !!! I had zero expectations going in but was blown away by how fun the whole experience was. Our instructor was funny and very knowledgeable and enjoyed the interaction with the group. We had a great time and learned a lot (who knew rum and rye could make a great cocktail??) There was a nice sized group so even watching everyone interacting with each other was fun. late 20's sons and daughter-in-law were equally thrilled with the experience and said they'd go again with their friends. Tldr: Not welcoming to beginners, overall bad vibes. I was embarrassed to have brought my sister and friend here. If you do go, check your glassware rims for lipstick residue. Ok so I'm normally a lurker on yelp, not a reviewer, but really felt like I had to share my experience here. My sister and friend were in town visiting and I wanted a fun "Louisville experience" to do together. I just moved here last summer so thought a bourbon class would be cool to learn how to make drinks with Kentucky's favorite liquor. Starting off, the guy who sat us made a joke about cancelling our reservation after we told him our names, weird start but ok. Get seated, check out all the glassware, and there is lipstick residue on the rims of two water cups and a coupe glass. So I steal a water cup from an empty seat next to me, lipstick there too. We asked for new glassware, no lipstick, good to go. BBQ snack provided was good, tater tots and pulled pork. Class gets started. While making the first drink, the instructor calls me out for using the wrong technique when separating my shaker from my mixing glass. I thought, ok it's a class, he'll probably correct everyone along the way. Nope, I was the only one for the entire class, talk about embarrassing. I thought he went a little fast through the instructions, but we did ok. First and second drinks were good. They left us a good amount of time between drinks to socialize and enjoy. Time for the third drink. The instructor goes, "who here has never had an old fashioned", none of us raise our hands because we don't want to be humiliated, but before the instructor can continue, a lady in the front shouts "SHAME ON YOU!". Laughter erupts, we feel even less welcome than we did before. We make the drink, I can't say we enjoyed it, but like I said, we aren't bourbon drinkers, so that one's on us. Overall, I would not recommend this to anyone who wants to try something new. I had friends go to the same class the following night and had a much better experience, so that was disappointing to hear. It seemed our class was full of snobby people who already knew how to make all the cocktails, dirty glassware, and an instructor who was intolerant of anyone actually trying to learn. Our company had our annual company event at Liquor Lab last night. I can't express how awesome the experience was for us. We rented it out for a private event and Erika/Freddie were great to work with. It was easy to get questions answered and they were so flexible with us for what we needed. They had cheese, crackers, jam and snacks for us when we first came in. We had someone who was underage and they were able to make modifications for mocktails instead to allow them to participate. Freddie was the absolute best! He made the whole experience! His knowledge behind the science of cocktail making was second to none! We learned so much more beyond just how to make yummy cocktails. We had the seasonal menu and it had something for everyone! A few of our team members are already planning on going back for their public classes!
