Generally, dealerships perform a multi-point reconditioning inspection on used vehicles prior to resale. This process typically ranges from a safety-focused inspection to a comprehensive evaluation for Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles and includes assessment of the exterior, interior, mechanical systems, and a test drive to identify required repairs or maintenance needed to bring the vehicle up to retail standards. From my perspective, if a required service is identified during that process, it should either be completed prior to resale or clearly disclosed to the customer at the time of purchase. As a large and reputable dealership like Sunland Park Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM, I expected a higher standard of transparency and preparation. Unfortunately, this experience makes it feel no different than some of the smaller used car dealerships on Alameda, where customers often expect corners to be cut or maintenance to be overlooked.
