It's on the site of one of the Carroll mansions and close to the flag house. Lots of history to consume. There is also lodging on site. And a courtyard for weddings right off S Front St. This is where the ceremony was held. The catering venue consists of four floors. Elevators are available for those needing it. The cocktail hour was held on the second floor under the City Lights. Dinner on the fourth. Wall murals all about Baltimore! Easy access via elevator or stairs. The food and beverage business at 1840's Plaza is exclusive to Rouge Catering of Hunt Valley. Exceptional team of professionals and food! Many shy away from evenings in town. As a human being and fellow business owner, I couldn't be more disgusted with the shameful way he conducted himself.

I shouldn't have been worried, though, as Chase Court was the first (and the last) venue we checked. Chase Court is very accepting and accommodating to ALL. The majority of the wines were a little on the drier side than what l'm use to but it was durable. Now the Manor itself is a beautiful place with two separate restrooms. Unisex that is which was pleasantly clean which I admire. Also from what I gather you can have weddings at this location as well. So the 3 stars is not for the Manor or the setup of the VIP but the way they had it set up if you wanted to purchase bottles to take home. At the top of the hill, you are greeted by a medieval castle. The Cloisters sits on 60 secluded acres. You will be amazed by the beauty of this castle with its delicately carved wood, exquisitely detailed stained glass, and ornately designed wrought iron. It was the home of Sumner and Dudrea Parker. They designed the castle to highlight their extensive collection of medieval artwork and artifacts. It was built in 1929 and took 3 years to complete. It was truly a lovely setting for the wedding. The wedding was held outside in an enclosed courtyard. After the ceremony, we all went back into the castle where several rooms were set for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. They then took down all the chairs and reset the courtyard for a sit down dinner. Everything was just perfect. What a lovely way for the new bride and groom to start their new life journey together!

The place is huge but very compartmentalized so it was great for an event with ~70-80 people. Would not recommend as a place for kiddos as there are a lot of steep stairs and delicate features. The staff seemed nice but they are very strict about timing - if you paid for an hour, you must leave right at the end of that hour! Our friends who rented the space seemed happy with the service, though.

Unfortunately it is not positioned for you to easily get to. We were bumping & hitting our shins stepping in & out of the bed. You literally have to climb over to get there. There is also no closet space the few hangers on the wall is it. Very small fridge that is stocked full of their products. If you are wanting to store your own items there is not much space for it. If you have a disability or health concern, be aware that there are steep steps to get into the building. Someone notified that there was a lift in back, but unfortunately to get to the lift you have to walk through several steep steps in the back patio , which didn't make it any easier access. Upon arrival we were given a notice of when our room would be attended to & cleaned, we made sure to be out during the day & time given only to return & the room had not been cleaned. The final & last straw came when a woman came to our room & told us for everyone else's comfort they were going to turn the air on since as I understood it one cooling & heating for everyone you cannot control the temperature of your room. Because of her turning the air on my husband got very sick , shivering & extremely uncomfortable & very physically ill. It was obvious our health, care , comfort & safety was not a priority. We actually left before our reservation was done & found better , safer accommodations. Maximum expense at minimum comfort, was our expierence here. It seemed to want to be a spa more than a guest accommodation & unfortunately didn't do either very well. You cost us valuable time with our family & loved ones . I'm sorry because I can see that this took time & effort to create, just don't sacrifice guests health & safety . Good neighbor wasn't a good neighbor to us. If you value your health, comfort & safety consider making accommodations elsewhere.

And it was important that we not do it at the conference hotel but in a special, local business, doing good in the community. good neighbor fit the bill and more! The space is more beautiful than all the beautiful pictures you have seen of it and it smells like heaven in Earth. The soundtrack they played was a perfect chill vibe. The local wines were special and earthy. But even more importantly, Mary and the special events team were so responsive and easy to work with. They made the event seamless. It was like we were part of the good neighbor community even though we had just met. You will not regret having an event at good neighbor!

Stopped in to grab a bite after a friend called and asked me to take her to get her meds from the Walmart at Carroll Island. My friends car broke down and is having some family issues that she wanted to talk to me about. I am 71yrs of age and my friend is in her 50's so we were not going to be out long. we were told the kitchen was closing down it was a little after 7 at his point, I asked the woman working behind the bar if they still had shrimp salad and she said yes so we ordered our shrimp salad and a beer. my friend ordered us another beer and the woman said last call we said ok and I asked for the check so as soon as we finished we could leave. The woman said no she was busy and would come back when she was finished cleaning. Then a large man came up behind us and said we needed to leave because he wanted to go home. It is not always what you say but how you say it. Please look at the camera and you will see he came up behind us and had was touching my shoulder like we were buddies. Well we are not buddies and he was so rude that I will be there tomorrow to talk with the Commander, this gentleman very loudly told me his name was Phil and he is the ex-Commander. I told him my husbands name is Phil and he mocked me saying Phil over and over again. I proceeded to tell him well I know why you are the ex-Commander. When the woman behind the bar tried to tell him she has taken care of us he told her NO I AM TAKING CARE OF THIS. I have no idea who took away this man's clipboard but he needs to lower his voice stop touching people he does not know and maybe take a seminar on how to deal with the public. Now the real reason I am hot about this is my husband was wounded in Vietnam and received the purple heart, our son is also a wounded Vet. who served in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne, he had surgery and stayed at Walter Reed. So if this is the way you at the VFW treat Vets. and their families we still have a long way to go. A simple hey ladies, it's almost closing time NOT the hrs are posted on the door. Seriously this man did not make your post look welcoming. To be truthful I stop in time to time when I go to Richardson's there are about 4 guys who are there most of the time, we talk, laugh and it feels good to buy someone a beer and laugh a bit. Not knowing this man he may have had one to many but that is no reason to get loud and berate your customers and extended Military family. Thank you for letting me vent. Some establishments have left, some have joined. The crowds stay heavy. Sadly lately, the crime has increased making it sometimes difficult to enjoy. Parking is gawd awful, but worth the hustle. I pray this area improves as Baltimore City deserves this.

Historic waterfront neighborhood [Baltimore MD]…read more Did some research while looking for places to visit in Baltimore and bookmarked this neighborhood. Fell's Point is located along the north shore of the Baltimore Harbor and just less than 10 miles from our hotel... we made our way here on MLK Day. Surprisingly, not all the businesses were closed on a holiday. We arrived around 10:30a and found parking. There are a few options for parking including metered parking and convenient lots and garages. We found an open spot on Thames Street. Fell's Point is beautiful as it was once a bustling shipbuilding port. We walked the snowy sidewalks and enjoyed the views of the wharf. Fell's Point is a historic waterfront and one of the oldest neighborhoods in Baltimore. It has served as the home to jazz singer Billie Holiday and abolitionist Frederick Douglass. I loved the cobblestone streets with many waterfront restaurants and bars and the local cute boutiques shops. We had brunch at Barcocina and did some window shopping at the cozy shops. We also shared a pastry purchased from Pitango Bakery Cafe located right there at the waterfront. Review #3664
