Her advice helped me so much!!! Quality of life instead of putting my much beloved cat thru yucky food that helps one body part & not nourishing the rest & treatments that won't work & make her uncomfy... I opt for quality. She is eating real turkey, chicken, ham, her Pro Plan wet food favs, (Turkey & Veggie pate'), occasional dry treats & dragging a croissant off my plate.. She is having fun at 17! I thank this Vet for my new attitude! Up date 2/2020 Next month my cat, Wanda will be 18. I still credit this Vets' advice for my attitude! Wanda has benefitted! She is still eating well. Real chicken ( Trader Joes' baked) , tuna, Pro Plan chicken, beef, & occasionally Fancy Feast Beef in gravy! She is benefitting from Senior litter Dr Elseys' I credit Dr Lisa for teaching me to pay attention, make sure Wanda knows I love her! Thank you still & grateful!

Dr. Pierson's website is invaluable. Our cat was just diagnosed with Stage III kidney disease and it seems to be progressing fast. The vet we visited for 20 years (for all cats) retired and we can't find a vet who is engaged and/or willing to entertain diet and treatment outside of prescription diets. We're in the dark trying to figure this out without a trusted vet. Catinfo.org has helped tremendously. Now our only wish is that Dr. Pierson was still taking consults. Thank you Dr. Pierson for all your hard work and help for cats everywhere!

    Baby Nima

Dr Pierson and I have never met but she saved my cat , Nima's life without even knowing it. Nima was a rescued kitten in mid 2018 and only my second cat. I started feeding him high-quality kibble and the occasional canned food. He was just over 2 years old when at the end of April 2020 I noticed some strange bathroom behavior and thought he was constipated. Over the next couple of days it got worse until the eve of May 1st when I had one of the worst nights of my life. He was screaming in pain going in and out of the litter box until he just laid there. I couldn't touch him out of fear of hurting him even more. He was completely blocked: at 3 am I was calling emergency vets who quoted me over $7k to unblock him. That morning I took him to the local vet who wanted to charge me over $2k to unblock him but finally agreed to do it for about $1500. Nima was hospitalized and monitored and released only to have the same thing happen twice more with the exception that I caught it much earlier each time. The second time they unblocked him they charged less but refused to keep him to monitor him, and the third time they would not admit him and pretended they were full. They said he had crystals, he was overly stressed at home and would have this condition his whole life. They told me my only choice was to have him sent for surgery to remove his penis and give him a new urinary path. Before submitting him to a $6500 surgery and all the pain and risks that could come from it, I went on a Facebook cat group and told my story. This sparked a conversation about food and someone posted a link to Dr. Pierson's website. I think I read every single word on that website. Dr. Pierson recommended more water intake and as someone who had zero guidance from the regular vet who frankly seemed clueless about nutrition and diagnosis, I had been deep in research for minerals and cat food ingredients etc so water seemed a bit too simple but I decided to follow her advice. I bought canned chicken and really high quality canned cat food and started adding water to it. Fast-forward to today: it had been over 6 months since his last blockage and 9 months since the first one. Nima is healthy and happy and pees humongous pee clumps around 4 a day! Sometimes if I'm in the bathroom when he is using his litter box I laugh out loud listening to him pee because the force of his pee stream is so strong I have thought about Dr. Pierson often and just had to somehow share the impact she has had on our lives. The meticulous work she put into her website has had real life consequences and we are proof of that. In a time and environment when every gesture and bit of information is monetized, she has proven that her heart is genuinely devoted to healing. We might never meet but I will always be thankful to her for saving my cat's life.

Our boy had some spinal issues amongst other things as he got older, and Dr. Moeller was always honest when it came to his prognosis and also never pushed unnecessary treatment or medications. I was desperate at one point and asked about an arthritis treatment, and she explained why our pup wouldn't be a good candidate for it which I appreciated because it was a very costly medicine, and in the end she was right. When she did advocate for treatment, I followed her lead and I am glad I did because it helped our guy live his final days somewhat comfortable before we had to say the hardest goodbye. The prices are also extremely fair coming from another clinic in Hermosa beach that was very high compared to this practice. We now have a 6 month old puppy named Penny and we just recently saw Dr. Moeller for her first wellness visit. She was once again wonderful and Penny was so happy to meet her and the staff. We look forward to many healthy years at Pacific Coast Animal Hospital and we plan on bringing our kitty in here for care soon too. Also- the front desk staff, and the vet techs are wonderful, patient and caring. I appreciated how kind and helpful they were with Jax and now our Penny girl. You will not be disappointed with any of the Drs here- they are all wonderful and will provide your pet with the best possible care.

I brought my two rabbits in for a visit and ended up being charged for services that were never clearly explained or approved beforehand. One charge was $22.50 for "brushing out poop" from one of my rabbits, which is something I easily could have done at home. I wasn't given any notice that this would be a separate service or cost. They also added a "wound service" charge, which confused me even more. When I asked what it was for, they said they think one of the rabbits might have a soft spot and suggested adding softer padding in the bedding area--but they also said they weren't sure and that nothing else needed to be done right now. It didn't make sense to charge for a wound service when there wasn't a confirmed issue or treatment. My main concern is the lack of transparency. If a clinic plans to perform additional services or add charges, they should explain them and get approval before doing them. Pet care is already expensive, and clients deserve to know what they're being billed for. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling like unnecessary services were added without my consent therefore we will not be returning.

I called to ask if they had noticed if something had happened to my dog and was told yes that they'd cut it. It had bled. First, I would NOT recommend that anyone take their pets to this location or patronized any of their subsidiaries or specialists' referrals. I will say that the ladies in the front desk area are lovely, sweet people and over the years, I would often bring or purchase them with holiday gifts for their service, however the recent change in Management is horrendous! I've learned that Manny is the "new" Practice Manager and in my opinion is doing a horrible job! I've learned that several clients, including myself, have recently left this location due to lack of accurate information, gaslighting patient for clinical errors and the poor service/response rate from management. I recently called out errors on one of my pet's vaccinations chart and had to provide my own receipts to Manny and team for them to even acknowledge the inaccuracy. He insisted that he was correct until I presented the receipt showing otherwise. This is poor leadership; I never got an apologize for that! I recently had to endure a terrible conversation with Manny today where he was just determined to be RIGHT, rather than engage in active listening, again, terrible leadership qualities, zero accountabilit! If he is in charge over there, I would advise pet owners to steer clear! I have never written anything negative about this clinic until today! That means something. I decided to follow Dr. Sanchez at Animal Hospital of South Bay in Palos Verdes, CA. She is a compassionate leader who deeply cares about the patient and owner. I will only work with providers, referrals or clinics who put their patients FIRST! I had an awful experience at western Vet and the dental group that they referred me to recently. Good leaders take responsibility- you will not find that at this location anymore. BEWARE PET OWNERS!

We were scared and wanted help as quickly as possible. Instead, we felt like we walked into a business that saw our fear as an opportunity. Before discussing a reasonable treatment plan, we were charged over $1,300 for diagnostics (X-rays, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc.). After all of that, we were told he needed to be hospitalized for 24-48 hours at an estimated cost of $4,800-$6,100. We were devastated. Fortunately, we called a friend who works at Orange County Animal Hospital and immediately transferred our dog there. The difference was unbelievable. Their staff was compassionate, moved much faster, and took a thoughtful, measured approach that balanced what our dog actually needed with the financial reality every pet owner faces. Our dog was successfully treated overnight, and the total bill was about $1,400. We were also told the same diagnostic workup would have cost around $500 there instead of the $1,300 we had already paid. That experience made it impossible not to wonder whether ACCESS's recommendations were driven by what was best for our dog--or by what would generate the biggest bill. As a pet owner, you are at your most vulnerable during an emergency. You'll do almost anything to save your animal. In my opinion, ACCESS takes advantage of that desperation with staggering prices and an aggressive approach to treatment that can leave families feeling like they have no choice but to spend thousands of dollars on the spot. To make matters worse, with the exception of a couple of employees, we found the staff to be cold and unfriendly. The veterinarian we dealt with showed very little empathy during one of the most stressful nights we've ever had with our dog. I understand that emergency veterinary medicine is expensive. I expected to pay a premium. What I did not expect was to feel pressured into a treatment plan costing over $6,000, only to discover another emergency hospital treated the exact same condition successfully for a fraction of the cost. If you love your pet--and of course you do--please know that you have options. Call another emergency hospital. Get a second opinion if your pet is stable enough to do so. It could save you thousands of dollars without compromising your pet's care. I will never return to ACCESS Animal Hospital, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. Based on my experience, I would only go here if there were truly no other emergency veterinary hospitals available.

I just wanted to leave this in hopes that Dr. Son and the staff might see it and know they made a real difference. Dr. Son is an incredible human being, and I am deeply thankful for the end-of-life comfort she provided my senior cats. Before I found her, when my soul cat was rapidly losing weight, we had gone to another clinic where they produced paperwork explaining the thousands of dollars I would need to spend just to reach a diagnosis. It all felt so cold. Then I went to Dr. Son. She quickly ran a few tests herself -- on the spot, in front of me, no removing the cat to another room where they come back stressed -- and told me she believed the diagnosis was cholangitis. A definitive diagnosis would require an expensive and, more importantly, painful biopsy that was unnecessary at my cat's age (15 at the time). Instead, we could start treating what was presumably cholangitis and focus on maintaining her comfort and happiness in the years she had left. With Dr. Son's help, the treatment kept her comfortable, lowered her kidney levels, and we had almost three more years together. So many overwhelming problems arose during that time with my two senior cats -- but Dr. Son would send me home with IV fluids, emergency medications, vitamins, over-the-counter suggestions, and diet recommendations. All of it was very affordable; I believe we were paying near cost for many things. I was able to care for my cats at home, empowered by Dr. Son's knowledge and kindness. I've seen negative reviews here about availability and curtness, and it saddens me. This clinic was truly in service of the animals. They were squeezing in as many appointments as possible, and Dr. Son was answering patient questions on weekends and evenings as well. Galloway had not been bought out by venture capital like so many other clinics that prioritize profit -- they were dedicated to providing cats with truly affordable, compassionate care. Thank you, Dr. Son and the staff at Galloway, for the dignified end-of-life care you gave my best friends. I can't tell you what it has meant to me and my family.
