I have never in my life felt so comfortable with a physician and their staff. I recently moved to the area and was not able to refill my prescription with my former doctor. I was worried I would not be able to get the new perception in time because it can be so difficult getting an appointment quickly at any gyno office. After explaining my situation to the staff, they were able to see me within a week. I was so unbelievably relieved. On the day of my appointment Dr.Lewis welcomed me in and the checkin process was very easy and fast. I did not wait long at all to be taken back and begin the usual Q&A process. The staff doing the pre-screening was so kind. Next, I met one on one with Dr.Lewis and what an incredible person she is. It felt like I was meeting a friend and not a doctor. While I was only there for a refill, she educated me on how my birth control works, compared it with others, and let me know so many things about how it affects my health that previously I was unaware of. Something I really loved about her and the office was the conscious effort of being sustainable and environmentally friendly. It's obvious Dr.Lewis has a passion for helping, whether it be people or the world itself. I am so thankful to have found her and her staff now that I live in this area. While I never look forward to any doctors appointments, I do look forward to seeing them all again on my next checkup. read more

I was referred to Dr. Lewis by a friend. Dr. Lewis is down to earth, lays out your options and explains things to you. Her staff is super friendly and when I had to get my blood drawn it was a quick and easy poke. The Medical Assistant was very good. Dr Lewis made sure to ask me when my last physical with my pcp was so we did not do any procedures that my insurance would not cover. I will be back and will refer others here- love the doctor and staff. read more

After being late for my appointment (my first time and I got lost) and told I would need to reschedule I broke down crying due to overwhelm and stress. The woman wanted to reschedule me right then but I said I'd call to reschedule cause I couldn't think in the moment. I was really sad and didn't have my calendar in front of me. When I got home and called to reschedule she told me I should find a different doctor. Simply because I broke down crying tears of sadness in her office. Keep in mind I am a BLACK WOMAN. I'd hate to think that unconscious bias made them dub me as someone unworthy of medical attention. Or simply because I scared the receptionist with my tears. I would not even recommend this place to my pet. read more

I LOVED my experience with Dr. Lewis. I had been told by previous doctors not to get an IUD because I was young and would change my mind about wanting kids. First of all, this is not 1970 and IUDs are a completely reversible form of birth control not just recommended for those who have already given birth, as they once were. Secondly (although maybe this should be firstly) I am an adult human. Treat me like I know myself, my body, and can decide what's right for me. Which is exactly what Dr. Lewis did. She listened to my needs and concerns, got to know me, placed the IUD, did a follow-up ultrasound one month later to make sure it was placed correctly, and has just been an all-around wonderful experience. I recommend her to everyone I know. The IUD isn't right for everyone, but I knew that it was for me and I just wish I had found her sooner. I no longer live in Colorado, but wish that I was because I have never before or since found a doctor that truly listens as she did. read more

There's a reason it was so easy to get into see Dr. Lewis. Although I was told by phone that blood tests would be included, on the day of my appointment, Dr. Lewis refused to do them because she was concerned that insurance might not pay. I told her that I had already cleared it with my insurance, and she told me to go to the 9 News Health Fair to get my blood work done. In addition, although I weigh less than the average American female my age and height, I was fat shamed by this ultra skinny doctor. I had foolishly thought that because she is a D.O., she would understand about treating the whole person and would listen to my concerns and try and get to know me on this first visit. However, although I came to her very concerned about something else, she was completely obsessed with my weight. Come to find out that her staff has mis-weighed me, adding 25 lbs to my actual weight. When I emailed about the error, I was told that they didn't make mistakes and that they were sorry I was unhappy with my weight. They also said that someone my height should never weigh more than 125 lbs; so even if my weight was what I said it was, I was still overweight. Body frame and the fact that I am nearly 50 years old were not taken into account, nor was the fact that I haven't weighted 125 lbs since high school and that I have a history of hypoglycemia. There was no seeking to understand, just fat shaming. This woman has obviously never been more than a size 2 in her life; so she can not possibly understand the struggle that some people have with their weight. I insisted they re-weigh me, which they did, but there was no apology for the mishap. Needless to say, I was so upset by the entire experience that I gained weight after seeing her and have had to get counseling. Stay away! There are surely better doctors out there. read more

Ladies beware, this office lacks the care and attention to detail that is expected from a specialist. In addition, Dr Lewis lacks the ability to see patients on their scheduled time. I visited her twice and waited over an hour each time. If you have a choice to pick a gyno I would advise you to select someone else. read more

Dr. Lewis and her staff are amazing!! They take their time during every appointment to address all your questions and needs. I feel like I get highly individualized care and not just a number. Dr. Lewis is very knowledgeable and provides straight forward approaches to treatment plans/options. So happy I found this place!! read more

I was fat shamed relentlessly by Dr. Lewis during the course of my entire appointment. She treated me like a non human because I am a plus sized woman. The whole appointment it was one snarky and snide commebt about my weight. I felt so humiliated I held back my tears, but when I got the hell out of her office I just sobbed in my car. Trust me, every now and again a physician will mention the 30 pounds I need to lose, but it is done in a professional and caring manner and it is no big deal. One of the snarkiest comments to me was "next time I see you I want to see a svelte woman before me." I kept telling her about the 40 lbs I had already lost which she refused to acknowledge. I felt proud I had done all that completely on my own and was very happy about my accomplishment, but unless you are a size 4 this Doctor will dog you aboit your weight in a bullying fashion. It was not acceptable how she chastized and admonished me over my weight gain for nearly a half an hour. Because of this, I did not gwt to address a lot of things I had wanted to ask her about. Even worse she misread my ultra sound mistaking a white image on the screen and saying "oh oh" to me. I was like oh, oh what? Is something wrong? My family doctor sent me to another Doctor to redo the ultrasound and there was absolutely nothing the matter with me. She terrified me for mo good reason. My primary care told me to promise him that I never return to Doctor Lewis and I haven't and sure as hell would not reccomend this cruel bully and wrongful diagnosis she tried to give me off of an ultrasound without a biopsy first. This review was very difficult to write and very triggering to me. If you have weight issues I really did not mean to trigger any uoset feelings in you. Just didn't want anyone else ripped to shreds by this cruel Doctor. read more

I saw Dr. Lewis in the past but due to insurance changes was not able to continue seeing her. Now that I had a new network, Dr. Lewis was back as a covered provider. When I called to schedule an appointment, I was told I was no longer a welcomed patient due to not returning the calls of the office staff. Confused, I asked for more details. After being placed on hold several times for long periods, it was then explained that due to a test that came back with worrisome results that I hadn't come back in to treat nor did I return their calls for treatment plans, they wouldn't see me. Completely alarmed, I pulled my own copy of the test results at home showing my tests were perfectly normal. When I confronted the office team member, instead of apologizing, she placed me on a long hold and then said that I was correct that the tests were normal. She then said I couldn't come back because I had discussed getting "special tests" that I never followed up with them on. Again, I had no idea what they were talking about since my visit was a routine check up. After a hold, again, she said that since I in general, didn't return the office team's calls that I couldn't be seen. From memory I provided the name of the office team member I discussed my insurance change with that caused me to have to change providers. She said they have no record of that conversation on file and no paperwork I offered to provide to prove a change in insurance would alter their stance. I am not sure now if I would return to see Dr. Lewis even if the receptionist called to make this situation right given such a scary mix up in patient files and poor customer service. This experience was very confusing and frustrating. To not apologize for a gross misstep by wrongly recording or relaying a client's health history is not only poor business practice but unacceptable for a healthcare provider. To me, this whole encounter was disappointing but the front desk lady implied this was just how they do business. She showed very little concern for me as a patient, how my health information had been handled or ironing out the situation. I hope this feedback encourages them to work on ways to improve both their internal documentation as well as their patient care. read more

I've been going to Dr. Lewis since I moved to Denver about three years ago. I was referred by a family member that used to work in her building. I've had nothing but great experiences and interactions with she and all of her team members. I appreciate that they are pretty updated with technology, and the app they have makes it easy to communicate outside of appointments when I have any follow-up questions. For some reason I have developed a slight nervousness when going to any doctor, so I appreciate that any questions I have she is more than willing to answer. The social and welcoming demeanor of everyone also helps put me at ease. Would definitely recommend the center to anyone. read more

I had a very good experience with Dr. Lewis. I didn't put five stars only because I have been there just once for a first-time visit however after seeing a long list of doctors for some medical issues she was very refreshing because she sat down and actually listened to me and was straightforward with her opinion and gave me an excellent referral. I will definitely be going back to see Dr. Lewis in the future for any GYN needs. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY. PLEASE CONSIDER OTHER OPTIONS. I'm a Colorado School of Mines' student and was recommended to see Dr. Lewis by our school health center. I got a Mirena IUD in Jan. 2015 and it went smoothly. It took a couple months to sort through the insurance, pre-IUD visits etc. (which may not be normal) but overall was a decent experience. However, in June 2016 I had to have my IUD removed since the strings had worked their way back up and had started poking my uterus. Very painful! I also ran the risk of having the strings work their way entirely up and need to have it surgically removed. Since Dr. Lewis isn't open late (although I tried calling), I had to make a special trip to the ER to have this done. My incredibly negative experience has been since that procedure. Dr. Lewis has taken no responsibility for this (both verbally and monetarily since I'm as student out of pocket ~$1000). Likewise, I've had numerous ignored phone calls, most of which were not even about this scenario. I've been trying to get a new IUD (not Mirena, this time the copper Paragard). I started this process in June and it's now October, and I'm no where closer to having a date set for getting a new IUD. Overall, the front office staff can be lovely (although sometimes forgetful), but Dr. Lewis has been incredibly disappointing and appears to lack knowledge about possible issues (and current lawsuits) related to the Mirena IUD. Possibly more importantly, she has been egotistical and unsympathetic throughout this scenario. I urge anyone looking to get an IUD to: 1. Research possible negative effects of the IUD in detail 2. Get it put in during your period (when you're the most dilated naturally) 3. If you need to get it out, make sure it's at the clinic you had it inserted (or potential $$ for you) 4. Use a doctor who will numb or dilate your cervix read more

Moved to town and needed a new gyno. No special/complicated issues, just regular annual checkup. Office wait was about 20 minutes then I got into the exam room. The nurse took a brief history, etc. Then Dr. Lewis came in. She's direct and I like that. We chatted about my health, any questions or concerns I had, etc. What I liked most was she explained WHY she had the opinions she has about women's health (research, medical journals, etc.). She explained paps and breast exams & mamo's aren't necessary annually for some women. She then said it's my body and my choice and if I'm going to feel more comfortable having these tests then she supports me and will do them. She asked about mental health too. Gave me an opportunity to express any issues or problems in that area. Marriage or job stresses as an example. She's cheery, direct, informative and supportive. I assume I'd have to go to an off-premises lab for bloodwork, mamo's etc. It doesn't appear she has these services in house. read more
