Then I found Dr. Margie Amos. I left my appointment feeling like I could cry again, but this time they were tears of happiness. I finally had answers and was met with a doctor who was patient, attentive, and never rushed me. She wasn't bothered by my anxiety or my long list of questions. She was thorough, educational, and incredibly kind. I am so grateful I found her and that she took the time to truly get to the bottom of what was going on. She ordered tests that no one else had considered and looked at everything from multiple perspectives. She provided several options for next steps, clearly explained each one, and helped create a game plan we both feel confident about. I truly cannot say enough good things about this doctor.

I arranged my entire life around it, took an extended leave from work, made arrangements for my recovery, and showed up at the hospital on the morning of my scheduled surgery prepared to have the procedure. **The hospital had no record of my surgery.** I was left standing there on the morning of surgery trying to figure out what had happened. I was later told that the person responsible for scheduling at my doctor's office had sent the request to the hospital, but the hospital says they never received it. Apparently, no one from the office ever followed up to confirm that an operating room had actually been reserved. Because of that failure, my surgery did not happen. They then attempted to reschedule me for the following Monday. At that point, the hospital/anesthesiology team required additional medical testing before proceeding. I completely understood the need for the testing and immediately did everything that was asked of me. I have now completed the required testing and have repeatedly called and begged this office to tell me what is happening and get my surgery back on the schedule. **They have essentially stopped responding to me.** The most unbelievable part is that I finally had to get **my insurance company involved just to find out what was happening.** My insurance company contacted the practice and then informed me that the person responsible for scheduling my surgery had gone on vacation and would not return until the 20th. No one from the practice bothered to tell me this. Apparently, after their original scheduling error caused me to show up at a hospital for a surgery that wasn't actually on the hospital's schedule, my case was simply allowed to sit while the person handling it went on vacation--with seemingly no one else taking responsibility for getting my surgery scheduled. I have been calling. I have been leaving messages. I have explained repeatedly that I am already off work and losing income. I have pleaded for someone to call me back. At this point, I don't even have enough time left in my leave to reasonably schedule the surgery and recover before I am supposed to return to work. This isn't a missed haircut or a dinner reservation. **This is surgery.** Patients arrange their jobs, finances, transportation, family support, recovery care, and their entire lives around a surgical date. There is absolutely no excuse for a medical practice to allow a patient to arrive at a hospital for surgery without confirming that the surgery was actually scheduled--and then, after causing that disruption, fail to communicate with the patient while the situation becomes progressively worse. What has been most upsetting is not simply that a mistake happened. People make mistakes. It is the **complete lack of urgency, accountability, communication, and effort to fix the mistake afterward.** I trusted this practice with my medical care. Instead, I have been left chasing them for answers while losing income and watching the window I set aside for a medically necessary procedure disappear. I am posting this because prospective patients deserve to know how this office handled my surgical care when something went wrong. I am still waiting for someone from this practice to take responsibility, call me, and tell me how they intend to get my surgery scheduled.

In fact, I almost cried tears of relief when the doc said "there are so many options out there" and "you don't have to feel like you have no control" over how one's body feels and functions when you reach a certain age. It shouldn't be rare to receive this level of compassion and respect for what you're experiencing in your own body, but it is - this practice recognizes how important it is to treat patients as HUMANS vs line items on an insurance form. Every doctor's office I have ever been to has issues with scheduling, staff that are maxed out, weird billing nonsense, long annoying wait times, etc. But if you, like me, prioritize medical practitioners who listen, offer compassion, and explore options that make sense for you and your body, give this practice a try.

My card was charged without getting prior approval and they never did explain the cost fully to me. I wasn't thrilled that the doctor strongly recommended a hysterectomy after having some slight bleeding. To me this is something that should be a last resort not a first suggestion. I was scheduled for a BHRT and they canceled two hours before my appointment, because they were out of estrogen. When I re-scheduled for a week later, they told me they were still out of estrogen while I was at the appointment and the doctor wanted to give me a pallet with just testosterone in it. I said no they still charged me for an office visit. Yes, we did talk about things when I was in the office, but I never would've come in the first place if they would've let me know they were still out of estrogen that I made the appointment for.

I was seen a little over a month ago, but unfortunately, the issue has not subsided. I have been a patient at this practice for over 15 years and have never had an issue getting scheduled until now. I asked for the next available Wednesday appointment and was told I couldn't be seen until September. While frustrating, I understood and then simply asked if there was a cancellation list. Phyllis responded by telling me there were 130 people on the list and that I would be at the bottom. That wasn't really what I asked, and the way the conversation was handled from there was incredibly disappointing. Phyllis proceeded to speak over me while telling me she was "being direct." There is a difference between being direct and being dismissive or rude to a longtime patient who is simply trying to schedule an appointment for an ongoing concern. I have been coming to this practice for over 15 years and have always had a positive experience, which makes this especially upsetting. As the practice has grown, it unfortunately feels as though the level of care and consideration for longtime OB-GYN patients has changed. I have really liked Suzanne and have trusted her with my care for many years, but after the way I was treated today, I will not be returning to this practice. The interaction I had with the front desk was completely unprofessional and a very disappointing way to lose a longtime patient

I was worried I would not be able to get the new perception in time because it can be so difficult getting an appointment quickly at any gyno office. After explaining my situation to the staff, they were able to see me within a week. I was so unbelievably relieved. On the day of my appointment Dr.Lewis welcomed me in and the checkin process was very easy and fast. I did not wait long at all to be taken back and begin the usual Q&A process. The staff doing the pre-screening was so kind. Next, I met one on one with Dr.Lewis and what an incredible person she is. It felt like I was meeting a friend and not a doctor. While I was only there for a refill, she educated me on how my birth control works, compared it with others, and let me know so many things about how it affects my health that previously I was unaware of. Something I really loved about her and the office was the conscious effort of being sustainable and environmentally friendly. It's obvious Dr.Lewis has a passion for helping, whether it be people or the world itself. I am so thankful to have found her and her staff now that I live in this area. While I never look forward to any doctors appointments, I do look forward to seeing them all again on my next checkup.

I highly recommend Dr. Sturm! I have suffered with endometriosis for the last few years, and over…read morethe last two years it has significantly progressed. It was ruining my quality of life, missing tons of work, stuck in bed for days in excruciating pain, missing out on a social life, trips to the ER. It was taking over my life! I was having some degree of pain everyday for months and months at a time. I've had to make trips to the ER on several occasions so they could help stop the pain, it literally felt like someone was constantly stabbing me in the abdomen. I was prescribed Vicodin, which was horrible for me, but sometimes was the only thing that would help numb the pain. I would have to take multiple doses before I had any relief., I felt like my life was over! The last ER trip in March, it took 4 doses of their strongest pain medication and finally a dose of anti inflammatory to numb the pain, and before that trip I was given morphine, which made me very sick. It was a nightmare, and after struggling with this for so long, and almost losing my job because I was missing so much work, I decided to schedule a hysterectomy. I was terrified. That felt like my only option and I was crushed. I am 40 years old, and thinking of all the side effects I could face was devastating. By miracle, my manager at work stumbled onto the Frankenhauser Treatment while she was searching for medical supplies for work. After doing some more research I found Denver Holistic Medicine. After receiving 3 injections over a 3 week span I was feeling better. Soon after I started feeling pain again, so I came in during a time when I was having a lot of pain and Dr. Sturm gave me the Frankenhauser injection. I was in horrible pain for about a day after the injection, but after that I was completely pain free! I couldn't believe it. The pain was gone! It lasted for a couple months, and now I am getting these injections when needed to be proactive. I am happy to say, as of now, I was able to cancel my surgery and avoid having my uterus removed! I couldn't be more pleased and hopeful. I highly recommend this treatment for endometriosis, which has no cure. It has given me my life back. I am able to do things I love, like hiking and working on my yard, etc. My belly was always puffed out from being so inflamed, but now I feel skinny again! I do have some pain during the time i'm menstruating, and that's when I usually get another injection if the pain feels like it could get really bad and it helps knock the pain out within 24 hours! This has been such a long and crazy journey, but I am so happy that I have a holistic option to manage this pain. I haven't needed opioids, or to visit the ER, or even my OBGYN that was going to do my hysterectomy, for months and I couldn't be happier. Thank you Dr. Sturm! I appreciate your professionalism and care. I highly recommend this practice!
