Lisa was recommended by another photographer I contacted, and I'm so glad she was available! She was professional and also flexible -- willing to adjust our contract when our large wedding turned into a small elopement. She was easy to work with and fun as our "adjunct wedding guest". She took charge (for example, before the ceremony, she rearranged our officiant so he wasn't blocking the view), came up with creative ways to get great photos of us, using the lighting and outdoor setting well, and captured every little detail. What started as a small group session to celebrate our son's first birthday became an extended family session with Grandma and my husband's sister and her family (including a 2.5 year old), and we are so happy it did. A coworker recommended Lisa for birth photography. He showed me the beautiful pictures she took from his son's birth and I immediately knew we wanted to work with her. She was available during our delivery window, and she had a backup photographer available if the baby came earlier. She was easy to communicate with, prompt with answering emails and very reasonably priced for her beautiful quality of work. We were unable to meet beforehand, but my husband let her know how my labor was progressing and she came at the perfect time. Even though we hadn't met, she was so easy to talk to and so professional and very mellow and calming during the whole experience. Now for the actual photos: they were even more beautiful and special than we could have ever imagined. They bring me to happy tears every time I look at them. I had the privilege of working with Lisa on my maternity pictures and they turned out even more beautiful than I had ever hoped! I told her what my vision was and she really brought it to life. Our review is long overdue - it's been a busy year for us, but we wanted to make sure we could give Lisa a great review! TLDR: Hire Lisa - she's a blast to work with and her pictures came out AMAZING! We came across Lisa as a referral from another photographer we had worked with since she would not be available for our wedding. We ended up looking at Lisa along with several other photographers trying to find the right balance between price and quality of photos we found in their portfolio. We were immediately drawn to Lisa's portfolio with her ability to capture not just her subjects, but their expressions and their environment. We can happily say that we made the absolute right decision working with Lisa! Getting in contact with Lisa was easy through her website, forms, questionnaire, and a phone call to understand what we wanted. Everything online was simple to fill out and speaking with Lisa gave us an idea of what to look forward to. The website also handled payments, which was great to see and keep track of - we wish all our vendors had this! As we came closer to our wedding date, Lisa helped us stay organized by discussing our timelines and also making some great suggestions about how and when would be good times to get in pictures. We also appreciated how she was so well prepared - she came a day early (she was driving all the way down to Santa Clara!) to check out the venue with us and already knew the time of sunset and had some great ideas about where and when to take pictures to get the best light. Though we wanted some set photos with our families and maybe a few with just us, we wanted the majority to be candid shots capturing the fun of the afternoon and evening - Lisa knew exactly what we were talking about. The day of the wedding, Lisa arrived right on time before the ceremony and began setting up and snapping candid pictures of us and our friends right away. She was able to take pictures ranging from getting ready to the wedding to the cocktail hour and all night during the dinner and dancing. We had two formal picture settings that were flawlessly incorporated into our timeline - one for formal family pictures and one for just us. Lisa and her assistant Rachael were super easy to work with - she had great ideas for composing shots, kept things light, and had us smiling throughout all the sessions. Throughout the wedding, Lisa was able to capture some amazing moments - friends laughing and having fun, family members dancing the night away, and some really amazing shots that we'll cherish of our parents smiling and laughing. Lisa sent a nice note after the wedding about the fun she had and in less than two weeks, she already had a "teaser" on her blog followed soon after (another couple weeks) with the full gallery. We were blown away by the pictures - the composition, the lighting, the moments captured, the seamless way the environment (outdoor wedding and indoors at an art museum) were blended in! We ended up purchasing an album, as well as a USB key with all our digital pictures. The USB key came less than two months after our wedding in a beautiful carved wood covering - we immediately used those to print some pictures for friends and family. The album process was also super easy - we picked a few dozen of our favorite pictures and Lisa put together some great transitions and collages given our preferences. We had an online preview and we still keep the album on our coffee table to relive those wonderful wedding day memories. We absolutely LOVED working with Lisa! From the first time we spoke on the phone, we immediately clicked. She was patient with us in the beginning of the whole wedding planning process and listened to our wants and concerns. I discovered Lisa and her incredible work when she photographed my son in 2017 for school pictures. She captured so many awesome poses from my little guy! Lisa, along with other business owners was one of the recommended vendors for the Sequoia Mansion. Our photographer, Lisa Richmond was AWESOME! We booked her for our engagement photos, which I highly recommend! Dottie and Lisa were more then just photographer or florist, they were personable and caring. They went above and beyond what the contract stated. As the bride I was pretty emotional before the ceremony and they both were there supporting me and cared so much. This post is delinquent by a couple months, but we wanted to share our memorable experience utilizing Lisa Richmond Photography. I saw Lisa Richmond's art for the first time in the fall of 2014. Lisa photographed our dear friend's wedding in Winters, CA. So, when Linda and I became engaged in 2015, we knew immediately who we wanted to record our engagement and wedding day on 9/23/16. Luckily, Lisa was available! Prior to meeting Lisa for our engagement photos, we had chatted on the phone a couple times so Lisa could get an idea about Linda and my love story. She was very easy to talk with and we had several good laughs before meeting in person. I told Lisa that neither Linda or I cared to have our pictures taken so I wished her luck with that! Lisa knew we planned on getting married at a winery and she suggested we bring a bottle of wine to open during our engagement shoot. Lisa is a fabulous photographer! When planning a mother-daughter session in the Placer County wine region for my mom's birthday, I did an online search for local photographers. I hired Lisa because of her candid, honest, authentic images that just pop with life, emotion, and color. This woman is a total master of light! My husband and I got married in November of 2009. We found Lisa through a friend of a friend and we are SO happy we picked her to be our photographer. Her personality is so easy going that I hardly noticed I was being photographed the whole day. This quality helps a LOT when you are a camera shy bride.
