Fantastic doctor & staff. Very sweet assistant made me feel very comfortable & gave me heads up to make sure I didn't talk to Dr. Woolf when her back was turned as she is hearing impaired & reads lips. Dr. Woolf entered the room, said the same & proceeded to take care of all my skin concerns. Froze some moles quickly & comfortably, cauterized a problem on my face which was mildly uncomfortable...but she made the experience easy. Great bedside manner & addressed my concerns. While I like Dr. Woolf, my experience with the front desk staff has been disappointing. After a visit with Dr. Woolf, I never received a bill. About 3-4 months later, I received a bill with finance charges. The amount was small, but I was upset because no one mentioned the balance during my subsequent visits. I always pay my copayment and would have gladly paid the bill earlier if I had known. When I spoke to the woman at the front desk about the finance charges, she was very rude and seemed indifferent. I expressed my concern about this happening again, and she said she would contact the billing department to ensure I received a bill. Recently, I received a notice from my insurance company about a small amount due. I called and spoke to the same woman, who gave me the billing number but was again very rude and uninterested in my issue of not receiving a bill. Despite liking Dr. Woolf, I will not be returning due to the poor customer service at the front desk. read more

Awful just awful. It's unfortunate that dr Woolf is so lovely and her receptionist is a raging awful person. She has no customer service and just an overall awful attitude. I have referred my husband and now tried to take my mother in law to see Dr. Woolf. We had called and asked if they took her insurance and they said yes no problem. Made the appt took her in to which the receptionist responds with we don't take her insurance. That's fine but please why did you waste our time. The attitude that came with all of this was just unnecessary and horrific. I, my husband and his mother and any other family members will never be back, because of this awful front desk person. I like Dr Wolfe, but I can see what people mean when they say she rushes through skin exams. I think there are doctors who are more exacting. I'll probably change for this reason. Mole checks are too important. Regarding the front desk person, ok, yes she is rude shrill and abrasive. I happen to be on her good side, but it's definitely taken work. read more

Lisa Woolf is one of those scam dermatologists that rushes through her visit, tries to do stuff that isn't needed and barely takes a look at your skin. I highly recommend that you do not try her and watch out for her upselling and unnecessary procedures that she over bills for. read more

Ok.... Just got a bill for when my 11 year old son went to see Dr. Woolf.... My reaction to the bill was a mixture of laughter and shock.... We had a concern about a possible mole (it wasn't a mole - it was a something that fell off - similar to a wart).... She looked at the spot where the wart had been - asked US (my wife and me) to take a picture using our phone - didn't ask for a copy of the picture and said, "keep an eye on it", and left.... My question is.... "Do I owe her money for every photo I've taken with my phone since?" Please do yourself a favor, don't go to this Dr., save your money and keep taking photos for free!!!! Whoever answered the phone was so rude and dismissed me like she was in some big hurry. I made the appointment but was so annoyed in the manner how I was handled on the phone, that I made and appointment with another dermatologist that I actually had to wait an additional two weeks to get in. For me it was worth it. Dr. Woolf herself is very nice and knowledgeable so this isn't really for her it's more for her staff. Dr Woolf - 5 Stars. Her staff: I received a missed appointment fee which is fine, I did miss the appointment however I specifically asked them to continue to text me so that I would know when the appointment came around. For this one they didn't. When I asked why, they had no reason... OK maybe they just need the money. Her main assistant is so unfriendly - I did read about that in previous reviews but wanted to find out for myself and yep, she does not have good customer service skills. The real issue is her new assistant - her HUSBAND!!! I'm sure he's a nice husband but... He asks why you are there and then before she comes into the office he feels the need to give you advice?!?! Its just creepy! Hes not a doctor or dermatologist.There's a couple of times I've gone there and wanted to show her something but didn't feel comfortable doing so with him there. I received a nasty, threatening telephone call from Rich in Dr. Woolf's office indicating that if I did not pay the $55 missed appointment fee, he would be turning me over to collections. I called Rich back indicating the reason for the missed appointment was due to the fact that my husband was extremely sick with Covid. Rich then said, "If you have been ignoring this bill, then I can only imagine how you deal with other bills in your life." Are you kidding me? Then he says he is Dr. Woolf's husband after I said I would be going on social media and giving Dr. Woolf a bad review. In actuality, the first time I saw Dr. Woolf, I was unimpressed. Obviously this feedback is for both customers but more for Dr. Woolf. I'd gone to see Dr. Woolf a few times. The receptionist is a apparently a good friend of Dr. Woolf so it all makes sense why this woman is still working there. She's so NOT interested in helping customers or patients and has a really lousy attitude. Every thing is just too much to ask and every thing is putting her out of her way. - She scheduled an appointment for me on a holiday day. I was curious that the doc was working. Turns out she wasn't but when I called the day after to find out what happened she said, "I don't see an appointment in here for you at all and just asked if I wanted to reschedule." The reception never called to let me know or apologize. She just deleted my appointment as if I never set it up. - She never requested my Brilliant distinctions number to apply my points after going to that office for over 6 visits. Why wouldn't you want to take care of your customers and get them the benefits they have available to them especially since they spend so much money with you? - Asked if they had a mailing list. She said no. Then when I sat down in reception office she said, "well yes but we don't tell everyone. It goes through brilliant distinctions." Why not tell every one? - Asked her if she requests the Brilliant distinctions accounts for her clients and she said, "no, not every one". Why not? I know why. Too much work to help save the customers money. Tried to tell Dr. Woolf about the above events but she didn't want to hear it (not being mean about this comment AT ALL) She told me she adored this woman and she would take offense to hearing anything negative. If she's too busy to give good customer service then get her some help and for gods sake get her off the front desk with that attitude. But how are you going to know what's wrong to fix it if you don't listen. It's too bad. I just saw Dr. Woolf for the first time. I noticed that a mole on my chin had new growth, and when I touched it gently it started to bleed. I called to make an appointment with her based on multiple recommendations and they were able to get me in the very next day. It was a short wait time, somewhere between 5-10 minutes. Dr. Woolf checked it out and recommended I have the mole removed. She didn't rush me to have it removed the same day, asking if I'd like to come back in another time, but I opted to have it removed in the same appointment because I was concerned. She instantly made me feel comfortable and assured me that it will heal well with minimal scarring which was a concern of mine because it's on my face. She was gentle, numbed me well, and the procedure was over very quickly! I don't say this often, but as a patient, I find it rare to find a doctor that is thorough and also has exemplary bedside manner. Dr. Woolf is a gem! read more

Run far away from this office. Do not even consider - the front office and billing department are AWFUL. We just got a bill from a 2015 visit.It came with late fees and finance charges. I didn't know if anyone in our family even had an office visit two years ago. Office said that's how long it took our insurance to process claim. I don't have same insurance - but did call them and claim was processed when submitted -- a year and a half after service date! And I still didn't get a bill from them for another six months after that. When I called them back, they said they sent us to collections. This was for our 19 year old daughter....so this affected her credit! I just paid the collection bill which was now double the amount of the visit - I had to pay the collection fee and INTEREST ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE DATE OF SERVICE IN 2015. I contracted some kind of rash while in Florida that I just couldn't manage on my own. It was super gross and impacting my quality of life. Not sure this is the best place for this type of derma drama. She biopsied a skin sample after oral steroids had minimal effect, but only after I barged in unable to bare living in my own skin until they were able to fit me in a few days later. Like did you SEE my skin and see my distress a week ago? I was called and told it was contact dermatitis and they shooed me off to an allergist for patch testing. Charged more than double for the same optional procedure she performed a year prior without advanced notice of the increase and refused to adjust the bill one nickel. It's not even in my city but the drive is worth it. The staff here is as knowlegable & helpful as the doctor herself. Everyone is super caring & once you get to know them you'll end up chatting the whole time. They always give me free samples of everything, from the medication to face wash. Saw a couple of billing practice concerns with a couple others, have not experienced any issues and if there were, her staff seems extremely accessible to assist with any questions. Their head nurse stays after hours and works tirelessly to get myself and other patients a better rate with our insurance because insurance carriers refuse therapy on almost everything along with high deductibles. I had to find a dermatologist for my 10 year old son who had a suspicious mole on his chest. After looking at the Yelp ratings I chose Dr. Woolf. I am so glad I did. Their staff was very accommodating in giving us an appointment right away. I was also impressed by the ease of parking and how updated and beautiful the building was. Her office was very clean and decorated very nicely. Being a dentist, I am very aware of how sanitary an office is. The doctor was exceptionally good and was very caring. Had a great bed side manner and was very gentle. She removed the mole and my son didn't feel it at all. I highly recommend her. We will definitely use her again whenever we need to. read more

Beware! We had a horrible experience with Dr. Woolf and her office staff. I should have known at the first visit, but I try not to judge people. I brought both of my teenagers in because they had acne. My 14 year has one or two pimples, once a month. My 17 year old has severe acne that antibiotics were not able to cure. Dr. Woolf immediately suggested BOTH kids go on Accutane. I told her and the nurse that I was very concerned about Accutane and it's side effects (Permeant dryness, bowel disease, birth defects, suicide, etc...). It is a "Blacklisted" drug, originally used for treating cancer. Patients must have blood work every month in order to fill their prescriptions, and females must be on birth control due to the severity of birth defects if taken during pregnancy. To say I was mortified at this recommendation would be an understatement. To make a long story short, after doing a LOT of research, I decided to put my 17 year on Accutane as our last resort. My 14 year old is using a topical product and her skin is perfect. She absolutely did not need to be on Accutane. What really made me mad aside from recommending that my 14 year old with hardly any acne be this drug, the Dr. and the nurse both made me feel bad for not wanting the kids on Accutane. They insisted they prescribe it for thousands of teenagers and that they had never heard of the side effects that I had researched and told them I was afraid of. They made it seem like I was being ridiculous to even ask questions about it. I should have walked away then and there. But we went back for a 2nd visit to start the Accutane for my 17 year old. My 14 year old had a pimple on her chin so the doctor asked if we wanted her to pop it. We said "yes". A week later I received a bill for $120 for "Chin Surgery", in addition to the $150 office visit, which by the way lasted less than 5 minutes. I called the office to understand why we were being charged $120 to pop a pimple. The receptionist gave me attitude and I asked to speak with the Dr.. She never called me, so I called the office again. I was told that "That's what they charge, and if I didn't like it, there would be more charges similar to this one, including "icing" my son's enflamed face, so I should get used to it". Little did I know, we were charged $90 for bag of ice that the nurse gave to my son while I was in the other room with my daughter having her "Chin surgery". I was able to get the $120 cut down in half after several uncomfortable phone calls with the very rude receptionist. I am happy to say we are no longer patients of Dr. Woolf and found a wonderful dermatologist right down the road by the name of Dr. Bente Berman. At their office, we are not charged for ice, and a pimple pop is a mere $20 charge. I also like how helpful and friendly the entire staff is. It was very difficult to switch over the Accutane prescription, we had to be released from Dr. Woolf and Ipledge (The iPLEDGE program is a computer-based risk management system that uses verifiable, trackable links between prescriber, patient, pharmacy, to control prescribing Accutane) Dr. Berman's office was extremely helpful in making the transition a success. The only good thing I have to say about Dr. Woolf is that we were no longer her Patients. We now see Elizabeth Longo at Dr. Berman's office. We love her and both of my kids skin looks great! Wonderful doctor however the billing practices in this office are ridiculously silly and an exercise is getting bilked. I have been a patient for years for elective work and very satisfied, I guess because I paid cash out of pocket. Fairly straight forward as it was elective. Recently I saw her for a lesion that had to be frozen off. Charged my co-pay. Office never informed me they didn't bill my insurance until 3 months later. After I received 4 letters stating not to pay the bill (my insurance was being billed) I received a collections notice as well as being charged for a second follow up visit at full price just 2 1/2 weeks later as the lesions wasn't gone, which lasted all of 5 seconds. Unbelievable! Full price at 5 seconds. That's quite a rate to pay oneself for a quick follow up. Never have I had a dermatologist charge for a follow up of the same lesion when it wasn't treated fully on the first visit for such a rapid touch up. Beware....nice doctor, but unfortunately has fallen victim to boosting income rather than client/patient wellbeing and satisfaction. See why some patients refuse to go back and follow up especially if they knew they were going to be charged the same amount taking 1/8 of the time. Probably why we see so many people wait to go see their docs until something gets horrible....they don't want to deal with the reality of it, and don't want to get charged again and again. And, oh, by the way, I'm a doctor myself. Simply shocking! Moving back to my previous doctor that is more expensive, but stands behind her work and her client's satisfaction. read more
