In the last few years, Doctor Weitzbach's annual skin cancer checks have found 2 cancers (one requiring radiation and one Mohs surgery) and numerous pre-cancers requiring freezing. The two most serious cancers were caught so early that second opinions from plastic surgeons verified Dr. Weitzbach's early detection saved us from potentially disfiguring surgery that would have been required if the tumors had been allowed to grow. His and his team's treatment of our children has been equally exceptional. Whether treating severe adolescent acne with Accutane, strategies for Psoriasis or simple acne facials, we could not have asked for more or better treatment. I called in on a Friday morning hoping to see someone same day as I was having a bad skin reaction and they were able to get me in that afternoon. I was so thankful and relieved. Lifesaver! Dr Weitzbuch found a melanoma on my right foot, just below and a bit ahead of my ankle. This was during Covid. I was still testing positive for the virus right up until the last minute. I finally tested negative and was able to go to my appointment after all. Dr arranged speedy follow-up plus surgery. I didn't even have to go through radiation or chemo because of the early detection. Dr Weitzbuch has also helped me with many other skin issues. Entire new patient appt was maybe 12-15 min long (5 min of that was meeting the Dr) He wasn't as thorough as I would like...I'm someone that always has had a few basal cell skin cancers removed so I'm very proactive about staying on top of this. Nothing but problems with this office from the service to billing. The office had a NP biopsy a mole that was bleeding. He initially tried to talk me out of it as it was probably "nothing" but I insisted. He then removed an excessive amount of flesh that is left me scarred. This should've been performed by the dermatologist. And yes, the mole was in fact pre-cancerous. Moreover, Dr. Weitzbuch who is consistently surrounded by an entourage has a condescending and arrogant demeanor. I'll be driving back to Beverly Hills for better service and care. read more

I noticed that my hair started to fall out and realized it was alopecia. I knew that topical creams and oils wouldn't be enough. I found Calabasas Dermatology Center through Yelp, and when I contacted them, I was able to get an appointment that very same morning. I signed in, filled out the necessary paperwork, and I was in a patient room in about an hour since calling. Very fast. Natalie was the Nurse Practitioner that administered the steroid treatment for alopecia. I came in expecting to get shots and leave, but, having open up to her about what's going on in my life, she recommended I explore therapy as a possible solution and recommended several cost-effective therapy services for my situation. This was an avenue I had no plans on exploring initially, but I'm so glad it was brought up. I could tell that she wanted to take care of me the best she could. A month later, my hair is looking much better, and my overall health has improved since speaking with Natalie. I am motivated to, not just take care of my hair, but do deeper work and take care of my mental health. She went above and beyond my expectations. Highly recommend his practice if you need treatment for colored spots on your face/skin, or a skin biopsy because you found a suspicious looking mole & are in search of a skilled & knowledgeable dermatologist with a very efficiently run medical practice. Had never been to a dermatologist before, so didn't know what to expect. But Dr. Weitzbuch & his staff really went above & beyond to provide an exceptional consultation & treatment experience. I found Dr. Weitzbuch & a long list of other dermatologists in pretty much all of Los Angeles on Yelp. After initially having difficulty deciding who to go with, I ultimately went ahead & made an appointment to consult with Dr. Weitzbuch for 2 reasons: 1) When I first sent him a Yelp message with a few questions about my skin issues, either him or someone from his office replied back promptly with thoughtful answers. This is quite impressive. Needless to say, I was partly convinced by AI to move forward! Here's a detailed review of my overall experience with Dr. Weitzbuch & his staff from start to finish: Consultation & Treatment: 5/5 Was seen very quickly after arriving. After introducing himself, Dr. Weitzbuch asked what my concerns were & listened patiently as I described & showed each of the colored spots on my face. I did not feel rushed. After I finished describing, he immediately used some type of device to inspect the different colored spots on my face & provide a diagnosis. He took the time to explain the diagnosis, potential treatment & risk for my particular ethnic skin in detail + provide tips for preventing future colored spots on the face, mineral sunscreen, UV ray blocking gear etc. From the interaction, I learned a whole lot about my skin that I should've paid attention to as an avid outdoor fitness enthusiast, but did not. So I appreciate all of that knowledge. Also had to have a biopsy done that day & specimen sent to his lab as a precaution. Though the biopsy didn't even feel like a mosquito bite, I did go ahead & follow the aftercare recommendation to apply Vaseline to the affected area often. About 18 hours after the biopsy aka "cut", I was back to my old crazy self bouncing off the walls. And after only a couple days, the wound healed all by itself like nothing ever took place. Brilliant work! After it was done, he pointed to my phone & asked if I had any other questions that he could answer for me. I went thru the rest of my questions on my Notes app and he took the time to patiently answer all my questions. Again, I did not feel rushed. Communication & Aftercare: 5/5 Provided aftercare step-by-step guide on paper. Nurse Adi was very helpful & went over the instructions + tips. Dr. Weitzbuch waited until she was almost done going over the instructions to see if I had any other concerns before he shook my hand & excused himself. I have a very rare autoimmune disease, so rare that most doctors don't test for it because they either have never heard of it or they just assume the patient doesn't have it and/or don't even know the proper tests to perform to diagnose it. After seeing 5 different doctors and having multiple biopsies, blood tests , procedures , medications and consultations. I was so depressed and confused. I had pain and horrible blisters on my skin that wouldn't go away and I felt like no one was ever going to figure out what I had and/or go the distance to help me. The office was a little hard to find because I didn't see the sign out front too well, but it's located across the street from pressed juicery. In this day and age it is unusual to see a doctor or PA who does not have their hand on the door knob trying to escape before you ask your next question. The staff, from the person who answers the phone to the doctor are kind and courteous. I have been here many times. I used to see Katie the NP who moved to go to Medical School. I have seen Dr. Weitzbuch on several occasions and he is amazing. Full disclosure my daughter knew him in High School. I come from a family of doctors and I am very picky about my medical team and i am probably viewed as a tough patient. You would never know this by Dr. Weitzbuch's demeanor. Review for IPL treatment: Ladies, don't be fooled by the advertising. This is a classic bait and switch with awful service to boot. I came in to an appointment for IPL treatment. Instead of a treatment, this appointment turned out to be a consult only with a $120 charge for the consult which was never disclosed or agreed upon. I was give a written quote for the service but when I came in for the actual IPL they tried to charge an additional $200 above my written quote (telling me that my quoted price has not been offered for years). This is the first and last time I'm dealing with the company. I've had prior treatments at other facilities where the price quoted was what was charged and there was no "surprise" consult fee. They actually tried to push another "consult" fee when I came in for the IPL treatment. Also, I don't know what equipment they're using, but I did not see any results from the treatment (as apprised to previous treatments at other facilities) ZERO RESULTS AND PLENTY OF OVERCHARGED HIDDEN FEES.
