I wish this place had two locations! If I'm in the mood for company and I do not know what to cook or if I have unannounced guest, this is a great place to pick up a homemade meal! The lasagna has always been my favorite! I've also been known to pick up a few things here too Deliver to my friends who have gone through a loss in their family. I'm so glad this place is here and it has also been here for a long time. The service is excellent and the environment is inviting from the moment you walk in the door! Local Artist Extraordinaire Hank Hall and his Wife Sheryl recently invited me and Gayle over to their house for Lunch. We had a great time as the conversation ranged from COVID, to various political subjects, and of course Hank's art and his upcoming exhibition at the Pearson Lakes Art Center or PLAC. Those pieces are being kept under wraps, but their home is full of really interesting works that reflect a pretty amazing artistic imagination. You could almost run a museum tour through their home. I was particularly impressed with Hank's "COVID diary" that reflected his thoughts and associated creative touches for about a years time. Now on to Lunch. Sheryl ordered a very tasty quiche for Hank, Sheryl, and Gayle, and a unique Turkey sandwich for me. They were excellent choices and just the right accent to our visit and discussion. I come up to the Lake every summer, but for some reason had not known about Lisa's Bake Shop. But I'll make sure to stop in during the next visit and take a longer look at the menu. read more

This little spot is a gem to seek out. The raspberry bar was delicious, as was the mixed berry slice of pie.

Have to try the caramel rolls they are the the BEST I have ever had. Probably best in the Universe.

Not very friendly, felt like I was in trouble for asking for a cinnamon roll instead of a frosted roll.

Great pastry's and soup. They also have good coffee. Open year round. Love the soups in the winter months.

We were on vacation at Okoboji, I was in search of some good local foods. I happened upon Lisa's Bake Shop. WOW is all I can say! The caramel pecan rolls are probably the best I have ever eaten! The home made breads are awesome too! Make sure this is on your "bucket list" of places to visit while in the Lakes area!!! read more

They have the best cinnamon rolls ever! My husband also really liked their caramel rolls. Great customer service. Friendly folks. Next time I want to try the chicken pot pie or other prepared foods they have in the cooler in the store. Check them out! read more

I'm from north central Illinois. I was traveling for work in Northern Iowa when I ran across this little undiscovered gem in Spirit Lake Iowa. As I came into the little shop the first thing I noticed was the caramel rolls on the top of the counter...that made my mind up I had to try them. With Pecans and without as well. I do not exaggerate one iota, those were the best caramel rolls I have ever had in my 55 years on this earth. I am glad that I live 8 hours away because if it was any closer I'd just rent a house nearby and eat there everyday! Highly recommend to anyone that is in the area...heck, it's even worth a detour if you're even close! read more

What a kick! I'm back from Texas in the Okoboji area for my 50th class reunion and enjoyed one of the nicest bakeries I could imagine - bright, cheery, clean, thoughtful, with an exciting menu... My wife Lisa (actually the reason we dropped in) let me taste her egg salad sandwich and a cinnamon roll that melted in my mouth. My ham and cheese sandwich with that morning's special breads was, at the least, noteworthy good. The bread pudding certainly met rural Iowa's high bar for bread pudding, and its thick sauce had a little something extra. We couldn't resist going back the next morning for some more of the same, and found a really hearty lobster bisque surprise. Wish we had a chance to dabble in some more of their treats, but after swapping a few lies with the owner and staff we left sadly realizing it probably would be a very long time - if ever - before we get back.
