I called him because I live in Novi, my car is down, and I need a ride to Henry Ford hospital Thursday morning. I called him to find out if he could do it, and he told me that he doesn't make local runs. If he doesn't do local runs, then he should not say that he's a Novi/Bloomfield cab or taxi service. Unbelievable RIPOFF…read more i am at the ER at 5 am. No ride. Am told they are the only company that will come. The dispatcher does not give me a price, I have to ask how long a wait it will be. He hangs up. The cab comes, says "did the dispatcher give you the price?" I said no. He tells me $33. Dollars. It is 3 miles away. He calls dispatcher who says "she hung up before I could give her the price." Which is a total lie. Then the driver says they don't take credit cards or have change. He tries to deposit me back into the hospital (I am already in the car and buckled up. Broken and bloody toe. I've been there 8 hours. I ask him to talk w security, who can't help. I say I have change at home. After several minutes he agrees reluctantly to take me. I ask his name, he hesitates, then he gives his name as "Mr. Jones". A large black male, in his 30's? Polite. He claims he is paid by the hour and has no control over prices. There is no meter, or if there is he does not use one. The paramedics who took me to the ER said "no problem, hospital will help you get a ride." Ha.

This is our favorite hotel when visiting family in the area. It is a sprawling resort, as the name…read moreimplies, and there are plenty of hallways, wings, and cultivated grounds to explore. Its an ideal destination for an extended stay. As a former seminary built in the 1940's, the architectural flourishes are second to none. Design aficionados will be in aesthetic heaven. There are three restaurants on site - an Irish Pub, a wine Bar, and a Steakhouse with a bar and breakfast service. The wine bar is definitely worth a visit, whereas I recommend the other two options primarily for their convenience. Service is exceptional and the beds are firm but very comfortable, nonetheless. The in-room TV supports casting TV & movie apps - Netflix, Hulu, etc. - but not music apps, for some reason. Fortunately we brought a WiFi speaker. A few notes on accessibility follow. For context, I can walk with crutches but need to use a wheelchair for long distances. And this hotel is all about long distances. We had an accessible king room, and while the lanes for navigating a wheelchair around the bed are tight, they are manageable. The bed is super comfortable but also very TALL. It could be tricky to transfer to the bed from a wheelchair without assistance of crutches. There is plenty of space in the bathroom and the roll in-shower has a good set up with an accessible shelf for shampoo, etc. Be careful with the bathroom door - it is a very heavy sliding door with a strange locking mechanism. The public spaces in the hotel, including the restrooms, are generally modern and accessible. I also noticed that the pool has a swing chair for water access. One exception is the Irish Pub, which treated accessibility as an afterthought when it was designed. There is no wheelchair access within the hotel - you'll want to drive around to the back to use its parking lot. Additionally, to get to the restroom or the second floor of the pub you'll need to use one of smallest prefab dumb waiters I've ever been in. Finally, be advised that the entrance to the hotel is at the top of a steep hill, and the porte-cochère landing itself is at a slant. Be agile with your brakes, and let your companion park the car after you've exited if you can. Also note that there are only 4 designated accessible parking spaces. We've seen them all full on multiple occasions; for a parking lot of its size, the hotel should probably add about 4 more.

Not only was Lisa's the least expensive option with her flat rate from Detroit Airport to Ann Arbor, but she didn't require 48 hrs advanced reservation! I was able to book my taxi online within 24 hours of arrival. She also sent a confirmation email within a few hours, and when I called as my plane was landing at midnight, she answered the phone and said she was sending someone over in ten minutes. Lisa's was just about the ONLY thing that went smoothly with my travel plans. When I arrived off the plane, the sedan was there. AND THEN (this is the part that deserves MORE THAN 5 STARS) -- I ran into a friend at the airport who was renting a car and going to the same conference I was. I no longer needed the cab. I called Lisa (feeling totally guilty) and told her the situation -- she said to go ahead and ride with my friend, even though they had already sent the cab over, she understood. I was blown away. Talk about incredible customer service! I'm not sure how many businesses would have done this -- above and beyond to make her customer happy. THANK YOU LISA'S SEDAN SERVICE! I have been relying on Lisa's Sedan Service for transportation between the airport and my Ypsilanti home once a month for the last five months. They have never let me down. The driver has always arrived 10 - 15 minutes early (for a 4 am pick up!) and waited patiently while I finished getting ready. At the airport, pickup has been just as seamless. Thanks to the yelpers, I found Motor City Limo and called them 3 months prior to the trip to book the transfer to/ from the airport / hotel. A few days prior to the trip I get a confirmation email, and then on the day of the trip I get an email reminding me of my pick up. The only down part is, if you don't have access to email, you would not get this reminder. As I landed I got an email telling me my driver was on the way and a photo of Anton. Then I got a text message telling me he's at the Coffee Bean with an iPad sign. Total communication .. love it! He was so easy to find, and we had no communication problem. Anton was a great driver and guide. Our SUV was warm and he even gave us bottled water to sip on. Chatty but not overly chatty, and gave us tips on what to do in Detroit. I asked Motor City to allow me to tip the driver with cash, and I gave Anton a very generous tip for a job well done. On the day of our return we had "GG" and she was excellent as well. Bright and early at 7 am on as Sunday, she was chipper and friendly. She grew up in Detroit and told us how things have changed in the new Detroit revival. Just like our arrival, Motor City gave me plenty of confirmations and notifications, so I did not stress if my reservation would be there or not. I received a frantic call from my bride standing in front of the hotel where she was supposed to meet the shuttle to take her and the bridal party to the venue and there was no shuttle. I called dispatch in a panic and they didn't have an answer for where vehicle was. They said the driver had left on time an hour prior but was now MIA. The 30-person shuttle we had booked for 10 hours of transfer service never showed up. They eventually sent a small SUV ~6 hours after our service was scheduled to start, but that didn't help much. Rather than enjoying our wedding day, I spent the afternoon and evening trying to coordinate rides for grandparents, family members and other guests from the hotel to the venue and then back to the hotel at the end of the night. MCL has since refunded my money but that doesn't begin to compensate for the chaos they caused. I would not recommend this service for anyone planning a wedding.
