My husband and I stayed in the "Rosa Flat" in Bairro Alto for two nights at the end of January 2014. Location was good and that's about it. The photos on their website must have been taken years ago - not as pictured on their website/on Air BNB.
Communicated with Renato beforehand and arranged to call when we left the airport so they would meet us at the apartment door. Didn't want to wait outside in January after traveling for 20 hours. Whoever answered my call told me to call back when we got to the apartment and we had to wait there for 10+ minutes, in the cold, with all of our bags.
Apartment is very cold and space heaters totally inadequate. Barely gave off any heat and one was broken and taped up. There was a big propane heater but nobody told us how to use it, so we were freezing the whole time. Bathtub was disgusting. Many things were broken - kitchen tap, bathroom tap, bathroom door handle. No hairdrier or "amenities" as described. We barely had enough toilet paper for two nights. Filthy throw pillows as decor, stains on blankets. Why not just replace these?! There were flies everywhere. Kitchen table was dirty and broken. Bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable.The fuse blew a couple of times but this is a very old building so not their fault. The street noise is very loud as the apartment is in a popular nightlife area, so perhaps some better windows should be installed.
We've been to Lisbon before and love the city. I'm not sure how a management company can manage several rental properties but not do any maintenance at all.
